After absorbing the knowledge injected by the Almighty Summoner System, Ban did not waste any more time and immediately set out towards the area where the Demon Ant’s discard their waste.
It was inconvenient carrying the huge ancient book of techniques so the System took it back from him to store it in a separate space.
According to it, this separate space was for him to use to begin with. It’s just that he’s not at the necessary rank to use it yet. The System also stated that he would be able to use it in the future and it was only giving him advanced usage just to store the book.
The book of technique was sucked away by a sudden light and what remained on Ban’s hand right now was only the throbbing Demon Ant Egg.
Ban held it carefully and immediately started searching for the area where the Red Ant Grass grew.
That area was called the Waste Chamber.
According to the knowledge, the Waste Chamber would not be that far away from the Queen’s Chamber.
Although he was not familiar with the inner workings of this Demon Ant lair, Ban still managed to arrive in the Waste Chamber without difficulty.
The amount of knowledge about the Demon Ant’s that got injected into Ban’s brain was not by any means small. In fact, if there’s a competition about comparing Demon Ant’s knowledge right now, and Ban participated in it, no one would be able to become first if he came second.
Ban stood in front of a huge spherical rock not far away from the Demon Ants Queen Chamber.
He put the egg in a safe place carefully before pushing the huge rock inwardly.
If it were before, it would surely take time for him to be able to push it open. However, since he just ranked up earlier, pushing it was no problem and in no time, a huge opening that could fit a single person was presented to his eyes.
At the same time, a putrid and strong smell assaulted his nose before he even got inside the Waste Chamber.
“Welp… It seems that a Waste Chamber would always smell like a Waste Chamber no matter what species, huh?”
Ban held the Demon Ant Egg again with one hand as he covered his nose with the other one.
The putrid and strong smell was the reason why the Demon Ants always sealed the Waste Chamber. It would only be opened once a month for everybody to take a dump.
Although the Demon Ant’s may look small with their thin legs, it was actually those same legs that could not be underestimated. According to the knowledge, enraged Demon Ants would be able to lift fifty times their body weight. It was their inherent [Skill] and every Demon Ant has it except for a select few.
Although the surroundings were dark, Ban was still somehow able to see the Red Ant Grass, although faint.
If only he brought a light source along with him, he should be able to see and harvest Red Ant Grass easily as they would always glow with a red hue if a light source was nearby.
Ban put the thought at the back of his mind as he focused his attention on searching for the Red Ant Grass again.
A while later, Ban reached his hand to a dark silhouette that he suspected to be a Red Ant Grass.
As he felt it with his hands, he took note of its shape and after confirming that it was really a Red Ant Grass, he did not waste any more time as he harvested it using the method that was also recorded on the Book of Techniques.
Every piece of Red Ant Grass tree will only have one leaf at most. There would be an occasional two leaves but it was extremely rare.
The method he used was the best as it not only did not damage the root, the leaves themselves also did not have any noticeable damages.
Ban smiled upon seeing it as it was exactly the same as what the knowledge had stated. After the Red Ant Grass was uprooted, it emits a reddish and faint glow as if a defense mechanism.
However, Ban was not worried as the knowledge also talked about this in detail and what it implies.
Apparently, every time a Red Ant Grass got uprooted, they would try to emit a glow to let the other Red Ant Grass know of the incoming danger that might befall them.
However, it was also this same glow of warning that would give away the location of the other Red Ant Grass in the area.
The Red Ant Grass on Ban’s hand glowed as expected and with that glow as the trigger, Ban’s surroundings suddenly went bright with multiple red glows emitting from every direction.
Like a magic light show, from one spot to another, glow after glow lighted until it reached the end of the Waste Chamber.
“Woahh!!”
Ban was fascinated by the splendid show that was happening right in front of him. Even though he already knew this would happen due to the injected knowledge, witnessing it first hand was still a different matter.
“I thank you for the good light show but I must apologize for killing you all!” Ban bowed his head deeply as he performed a summoner’s salute by placing three of his mid fingers right below his chin.
They were consuming their life force in exchange every time a Red Ant Grass emits the reddish glow.
Even a small bright light would always kill the whole population of Red Ant Grass around that area, no exemption.
