Arranged Marriage: To Hear Your Voice Novel

Chapter 5 - Best Pillow In The World (F)

Gabriel wanted to curse and scold her for driving a motorbike rather than a car. Enzo didn’t have a choice but to lead him to her room. She’s sleeping, the duvet is covering half of her body and she’s like a sleeping beauty. He moved to her queen bed and put his hand over her forehead. She frowned when she felt his hand.

“You naughty girl, why would you drive a motorbike when it is raining?” Gabriel scolded her in low voice.

Enzo gave the flowers to the maid. The maid left and Enzo crossed his arms at Gabriel.

“Since you’ve seen her, and you may now leave.” Gabriel pulled the duvet till it reached under her chin.

“I will call a doctor,” Gabriel said. He pulls out his phone.

“She has her own doctor. He should be on his way here by now.” Enzo said while rolling his eyes.

Gabriel stood and face Enzo. He patted his shoulder.

“We will be brothers soon. Don’t get overprotective of her. I will protect her as well.” Gabriel smile at him in a devil way.

“What is really your motive in choosing my sister?” Enzo asked.

Gabriel smiles and Enzo suddenly crept out. Gabriel never really smile like that.

“Let’s just say that she’s the best pillow in the world.” Enzo’s face darkens and he put down his hand and clenches his fist. “Don’t get angry, bro. I am now taking responsibility for her because of what happened to both of us nine months ago.” Gabriel said bluntly.

“Asshole!”

“I know.” He went back to the bed and kisses her forehead. “I will leave now and will probably be here tonight so that I can take care of her. You are free to mess around with women tonight.”

“Okay! I gave up!” Enzo left the room.

He exhales and watched the sleeping goddess. He bent down and kisses her dry lips.

“You stubborn girl, I’ll torture you tonight.” He stayed for a while, wiping her hot face and then finally left.

When he got to his office, he started reading the data about her. Ten years ago, she was fifteen years old when she got kidnapped with her mother. They were locked up in an abandoned house away from people near the beach. Her mother died from a gunshot and her body was burnt from the fire.

She was in deep trauma, never spoke to anyone and even her psychiatrist couldn’t do anything about her depression. She might have witnessed something other than that. But she remembers nothing at all, and her mouth was clearly shut.

She had no boyfriends and friends at all. Only her brothers. An odd report was that she was molested by her stepmother and she never fight back and ignored it like it never really happened at all. Her brothers are overprotective of her and another odd thing is, she studied a lot of martial arts and even went abroad to a secret school. That is unknown.

“You have two hours of free time, sir,” Oliver said

“Hmm, I’ll finish a few things then. Free my time by four o’clock so that I can visit my fiancée.” He ordered.

“Yes, sir.”

“I’ll probably drive myself there so you are dismissed after work.” He added.

“Thank you.”

He worked nonstop and finish the stacks of papers in front of him putting the finished paper on the right. After what seemed like three hours, he just felt that he has to take a break. He went on the treadmill and started strolling and stretches his back. While walking, he thought of something that would make her fall for him.

Though he wasn’t sure of what he wanted—but he was sure of something. He will marry her and make her his pillow at night so he could have a nice sleep. He slept for five hours last night and it is enough then two to three hours of sleep daily. It would be nice to hear her voice. She isn’t muted that’s what he thought. She just doesn’t want to speak at all.

He resumed work again and ordered a coffee from his secretary. He worked efficiently until he finished the mountain of papers in complete three hours. He then got up took his lunch in his office and call Enzo who answered in a few rings.

“How is my sweetheart?” He asked.

“Sweetheart?” Enzo snorted. “Well, she’s still sleeping. Her fever is still 39 degrees Celsius. The doctor said that it is a simple fever and he will check on her thoroughly.” He said monotonously.

“Hmm, okay. Did she eat?”

“She was asleep. She won’t eat at all.”

“I’ll be there by five.”

“It’s better if you don’t come here though. But the butlers have settled a guest room in front of hers. I think dad isn’t against it anymore.” Enzo said.

“Of course, he isn’t. We will be family soon enough.” Gabby muttered.

“Whatever you say, Gabriel.” Enzo rolled his eyes.

His assistant came and he signed him to continue while he’s eating.

“Last night there was a big explosion in the Snake Headquarters. Barret the head gang was dead shot on the head and others. The killer was a real sharpshooter.”

“Snake headquarters, the one who has been threatening us for the site that they couldn’t even get?”

“Their business collapsed after the bombing.” I checked the tablet where he sent the footage of the report.

“Good. We won’t have problems with them anymore. Do you know who had done it?”

“It seemed they had captured someone they shouldn’t. The secret organization of Spies.” He stopped. “There’s no name and it remains discreet as it is. It seemed they are surely hard to locate.” Oliver added.

“We won’t mess up with them.” It’s a good choice. Though he really wanted to know about the boss of that discreet organization that earned millions every day.

He finally leaves at three and went around to the boutique to buy her something. From his observation in her room, she has a collection of series books. He didn’t buy books because she probably had a lot.

From the reports he has, she had a dog back then that died after her kidnapping incident. It died together with her mom. And she never had any pet at all after that. No pet at this moment. He will just buy something that she might like. Then his driver arrives with a few of his clothes since he will sleep over hoping for a good sleep.

He told his driver to drive there while he checked his emails and tried to finish half of his work for tomorrow. It takes at least an hour to get to their mansion. He put his laptop and tablet in his leather bag. The door opens and since it is raining again, a big umbrella was waiting for him and his driver to walk him to the main door.

He was greeted by Marga and he responded with a nod. Then her mother greets him warmly with cheeks to cheeks, treating him like a family. The butler came with his little suitcase.

“What will you like for a snack?” Janine asked in a very motherly act.

“Anything.” He replied.

“Please led him to his room.”

He went to his room on the west wing, just right in front of her room. As soon as he put his things in order and the butler is done arranging his clothes on the cabinet, he took a warm shower, change into his casual clothes and went to her room to visit her. Enzo is sitting on her swivel chair while playing something on his phone.

An IV was connected to her. She’s sleeping, sideways facing his direction. He sat down beside her and caress her hair. Her temperature is hotter than before.

“Why isn’t her temperature dropping?” he asked Enzo.

“I don’t even know what to do so here I am, playing games while waiting for her to wake up and eat something.”

“Did she wake up after I left?”

“Yup. Just two times.” She looked pale and he’s worried. The doctor came again and check her temperature. He frowns. “What?” They both asked in a panic.

“Her temperature is 40 degrees.”

“Shit!” Enzo cursed and was pacing back and forth. “Is this trauma again?”

“I think it is, young master.” He now understands. She should wake up.

“Sabrina.” He called her name but she’s not even responding. “Hey,” he caressed her hair.

“No vomit, no shaking… she’s just sleeping. I’ll check her breathing.” The doctor said taking his stethoscope. He immediately moved away. “Her breathing is normal. It seems that it is just her temperature.”

He called for the maid to sponge bath her. The doctor injects a medicine for fever through her IV and they left waiting outside.

“Why are you worried?” Enzo suddenly asked checking if his brother is online.

“Of course, I am worried about my bride,” Gabriel answered.
