Becoming God of a Dystopian World Novel

Chapter 47 - Robe Of Hunger

Zhao Luo followed behind Brother Sang as Elder Bo led the three to the upper floor.

“In my countless shops all over the North-East Zone, only this shop has an upper floor.”

Elder Bo started telling them as they were going up the stairs.

“And the number of times I have invited people to this floor, hmmm.”

Elder Bo stopped and thought for a second.

“It can be counted on my hand alone. So you guys are pretty lucky to witness my workshop at such a young age.”

Elder Bo told them about the history of the second floor of his shop. It was also the place where he used to craft his dual robes. Basically, it was the place closest to Elder Bo’s heart.

‘intriguing.’

Zhao Luo thought it was fun to hear about it from the Elder.

Finally, they had reached the first floor of the shop.

Brother Sang, Zhao Luo, and Yan were behaving like Pandas. As they had their eyes opened like big circles they looked around. The ceiling looked like a night’s sky with thousands of brilliant stars shining in the sky.

“Brilliant. How did you make it so realistic?”

Zhao Luo asked the old man.

The sky looked the same as the sky he remembered but the beauty had been uplifted even further. The stars that were drawn by carving them in the sky ceiling had just enough shine to not blind the eyes.

‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star….’

Zhao Luo was lost in the beauty of the stars and unconsciously he started to sing a nursery rhyme in his mind.

“One of my old friends is behind it. He was also my teacher in many ways.”

Elder Bo answered Zhao Luo as he looked at him and realized that he was lost in his thoughts as his face was tilted upwards cause he couldn’t stop staring at the stars in the ceiling.

‘Pat.’

“Young man I would suggest that you don’t stare at the ceiling again. These stars reflect a beauty that is ten times more than the one who is staring at them. So you should understand what will happen if a human’s eyes were to stare at something so beautiful. They would be enchanted by the beauty of the star carvings.”

Elder Bo tapped on Zhao Luo’s shoulder who was singing a nursery rhyme in his head and brought him back.

‘Nod.’

Zhao Luo agreed with what the elder had said.

There was someone else who was going through something similar to what Zhao Luo had just suffered.

It was Yan. He was also lost in his thoughts but no one noticed.

“Elder Bo your place is just extraordinary. I have never seen a place like this in my life.”

Brother Sang complimented the Elder’s place.

‘Indeed.’

Zhao Luo agreed with what Brother Sang had said just now.

“Hmph, I wouldn’t have shown this to you, youngsters, if it wasn’t for all the praises of Zha Luo was fed into my ears by the old Dousi.”

Elder Bo said while feeling a little reluctant. He was talking about his meeting with the second elder.

During their friendly meeting, the Second Elder kept on going on and on about how big of a genius an examinee named Zhao Luo was. Elder Bo could still hear the praises in his head.

‘He could solve my riddles as easily as drinking water from a glass. His mental state may even be higher than mine at such a young age.’

Elder Bo found it hard to believe Dousi’s words but he knew that his friend had never lied. He was known as an honest man even before their World merged with this World.

Elder Bo was a very altruistic person when it came to his friend. So how could he not show favor to someone, who brought such a big smile to the face of his friend?

This was the reason why Elder Bo took them to the upper floor of the shop. But it was common to not tell them everything so the elder just walked quietly.

The upper floor was intense but at the same time, the design of the whole floor could be said to be simple too. The ceiling was already so amazing but the serene floor was even more of a wild view.

In this shiny space, there was only a sewing machine which Zhao Luo couldn’t recognize as it was very different than the one he knew about.

A throne-type seat for Elder Bo to sit on while working on making a robe.

A giant shelf where there were countless materials.

Zhao Luo could hardly match between the materials there and the ones he knew about.

Then as Zhao Luo was still looking around, he found a forge.

‘What? He is a blacksmith too.’

Zhao Luo was looking at the forge and the other equipment by a blacksmith that was lying around.

Elder Bo noticed Zhao Luo’s confused expression and knew what Zhao Luo was thinking.

“Hahaha, young man, did you think that I became famous by playing around with a thread and a needle?”

Elder Bo was making fun of Zhao Luo’s thinking. He could somewhat guess Zhao Luo’s thoughts.

“Not at all. Just consider me as a kid who is still learning to walk.”

Zhao Luo told the elder as it had only been a few days since he had woken up and yet the things were going very fast for him.

“Haha.”

The elder laughed after hearing Zhao Lup comparing himself to a kid. He was very impressed by the way Zhao Luo backed down.

“Sang, young man your brother is a very interesting individual.”

Elder Bo said to Brother Sang who was mostly busy listening to their talks.

“I agree with your comment, Elder.”

Brother Sang looked at Zhao Luo before looking at the Elder with a smile.

While talking they reached the last thing that was on this floor.

‘A closer.’

Zhao Luo thought while looking at the closet.

“Your robe is in it. Don’t be too surprised.”

Elder Bo told Zhao Luo. Zhao Luo wasn’t even sure if buying it yet but the Elder was already talking as if he had decided to give it to Zhao Luo no matter what.

‘Cre~~~ak.’

The elder opened the door. A wood screaming shallow sound came from the joints of the door and the closet showing the old age of the wooden closet.

‘Shaaaa.’

A shine filled the eyes of Brother Sang and Zhao Luo.

There was indeed a robe inside the closet but it was very different than how Zhao Luo and Brother Sang had imagined it to be.

“Simple yet what is this unexplainable feeling?”

Zhao Lup questioned as he looked at the robe which was very light blue but there was a sharp tinge of purple shade that was coming from it.

The elder grabbed the robe and took it out of the closet.

“Give it a try.”

The elder told Zhao Luo as he waved his hand and a square cover appeared.

He passed the robe to Zhao Luo who then went inside the cover and changed into that robe.

Zhao Luo came out of it after changing into the robe.

“Beautiful!”

An exclaiming sound came from a little far away as soon as Zhao Luo had come out of the cover. It was Yan who had finally been freed from the enchantment that he had fallen into when he started at the stars for too long.

This just showed that how much of a jump, Zhao Luo’s beauty had gained that it caused Yan to be freed.

“This is just one of the specialties of this robe.”

Elder robe said with a smirk on his face.

“It’s weightless too like the robes on the Sky Zone.”

Zhao Luo said to Elder Bo.

Elder Bo listened to Zhao Luo comparing his robes in the Sky Zone to this one.

Then he moved towards the forge and grabbed his iron hammer.

‘Bam.’

Zhao Luo felt a vibration on his back as Elder Bo used the iron hammer to hit Zhao Luo’s back.

“That felt funny.”

Zhao Luo said with a breaking voice as he was shocked when the elder had hit him with the hammer out of nowhere.

“Young man try hitting your brother with your full force.”

Elder Bo instructed Brother Sang who acted on his instruction after getting the ‘Nod’ from Zhao Luo.

‘If I don’t let him hit me then this elder will do it instead. I don’t know what this old man will use next.’

So Zhao Luo had given the pass to Brother Sang.

‘It wouldn’t be that bad. Hmmm. It would it?’

Zhao Luo thought as Brother Sang was taking his position in front of Zhao Luo.

He pushed his left leg back and his right leg ahead. Then he pulled his right fist backward and then forced his left leg downwards as if applying a pressure that would act as an accelerator for his right fist increasing the power of his punch.

“Bang.”

A blasting sound of metals colliding echoed in the whole floor. That is how strong Brother Sang’s punch was.

The punch came in contact with Zhao Luo’s stomach area.

Zhao Luo had closed his eyes as a reflex before the punch came in contact with his stomach. Every second felt like an eternity but he never felt the punch even when the sound of metal colliding fell on his ears.

“What?”

Zhao Luo opened his eyes and saw the first of Brother Sang stopped at the robe. It was like that all the power of Brother Sang’s had been digested by the robe.

Zhao Luo looked at Elder Bo so he could explain to them, what was going on.

“This is one of my best creations. The Robe of Hunger.”

Elder Bo told them.
