At that moment, the man standing in the room was leaning against the counter. He adopted a relaxed posture. He held a glass in his hand and asked, “What would you like to drink?”
“Lemon water.”
His slender fingers reached for the lemons in the refrigerator, washed them, and placed them on the counter.
The fingers of his one hand brushed the surface of the lemons and picked up a knife with the other. He lifted the knife and divided the lemons into equal sized slices.
This would have been an easy thing for an ordinary person to do but the problem was that the person in front of Jiang Yu was blind.
Feng Lin Bai asked, “How many slices would you like?”
“Two.”
He dropped two slices into a glass of water. Feng Lin Bai then held the drink, walked around the counter, and took five steps forward, stopping right in front of her.
He handed the glass to Jiang Yu. “Here’s your lemon water.”
Jiang Yu took the cup. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
The man in front of her had on a dark colored apron. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up to his elbows, revealing a slender forearm.
Jiang Yu wasn’t a fan of judging someone by their looks but, looking at Feng Lin Bai, she could not help but feel that he was very attractive. Watching him stand there was like looking at a beautiful portrait. It would have been hard for anyone not to notice him.
She once again felt sorry for his lack of sight. Feng Lin Bai was able to traverse around the room with ease. He must have had much practice in private and had memorized every detail of the room in his mind.
Such an inspiration.
Feng Lin Bai returned to the counter, took off his apron and hung it off to the side. He poured himself a cup of coffee.
Jiang Yu took a sip of her lemon water and heard him say, “I am glad you came to me.”
Jiang Yu paused for a moment. She knew that Feng Lin Bai should not be surprised by her appearance but she felt something was off when she heard Feng Lin Bai say this in such an elated and happy tone.
It was as if he had been waiting for her for a long time.
“Aren’t you curious as to why I came to find you?”
“Because I sent someone to follow you. Also, there’s the invitation letter.”
Jiang Yu was indeed surprised that a blind man could find her so quickly.
Feng Lin Bai could not describe her appearance and she was confident that her face had not been caught on any surveillance cameras when she entered the Feng residence the other night.
This could only mean that this man was not a simple one by any means.
Jiang Yu said, “Those are indeed two of the factors but they aren’t solid. Those reasons alone wouldn’t be enough reason for me to come looking for you.”
She was telling the truth. Since Feng Lin Bai had found out who she was and that she was from the Jiang family, it wasn’t strange for him to send her a special invite, although the timing of that happening had been very convenient.
In her previous world though, there had been many people who followed her. Jiang Yu was not threatened by this as she had the means to dispose of them whenever she wished.
“Then, you came here to look for me specifically?”
Feng Lin Bai teased her but the grip on his cup tightened, revealing a hint of nervousness.
He sat down on the sofa beside Jiang Yu and leaned back lazily, looking like a cheetah lounging in the sunlight. His black shirt stuck to the frame of his body, faintly revealing his strong and powerful figure.
Jiang Yu nodded. “I came here looking for you.”
Before Feng Lin Bai could respond, she continued, “I can give you your sight back.”
Feng Lin Bai’s hand trembled and the coffee in his cup almost spilled over. He readjusted his grip.
He placed the cup on the table and leaned forward, a faint smile on his lips.
“You’re saying you can heal my eyes?”
