Somewhere in a completely unknown world, in the middle of a vast field, a single colorful tree could be seen, while under its shadow, a human boy was lying motionlessly.
His body was unnaturally dormant while his eyes were gently closed, completely unknown if he was dead or was just simply deeply asleep.
While the gentle breeze swept through the boy’s hair, time passed by slowly.
After an unknown amount of duration which could have been an hour or a minute, suddenly the boy’s eyes shot wide open, and instantly sat up with a pale face.
“What… What happened with me?”, asked the boy quietly to himself as he held his head with a somewhat painful expression, still confused by something.
As he tried to remember back what could have just happened with him, suddenly memories emerged in his head one after another, making his expression to slowly turn relaxed once again.
“Yeah, that is right. I threw myself off the building and I have died. But if that is true… how can I be still alive? Was it just a dream?”
As the pain in his head started to dissipate, the youth who was Cal raised his head. However, the moment he did and looked around his eyes widened with utter surprise.
“Where… Am I?”
All around him what he could see was breathtaking scenery that looked like it just popped out of someone’s creative imagination.
Colorful flowers, endless green filed and huge mountains that summit pierced the milk-white clouds right above his head, giving others the feeling that it was a bridge toward the heavens above.
“Woah…”
The only thing that Cal could say was only that and nothing else.
Everything that was currently happening with him with this new sight before his eyes were just simply too much for him to take. He needed a bit of time to process all the occurrences because right now, it was just way too confusing for him.
“Was it really just a dream, or did something else happen?”
As Cal was thinking about a solution that could give him a reasonable explanation, suddenly he felt a rigid touch on the ground beside him.
“Huh? What is this?”, asked Cal with confusion as picked up the book from the grass and looked at the cover.
‘Diary: Khal Nevio’
“A diary? Should this be mine? But my name is Cal, not Khal…”, thought Cal with a slight frown, but just as he was about to open the book he noticed something even more shocking.
“How could this be?”, asked Cal with shock and raised his right hand.
On his wrist, what he could see was a very familiar-looking iron bracelet with a wavy shape. Even the small hole in its middle where he could put differently sized or shaped jewelry could be clearly seen.
In the past, he didn’t put any jewelry in it because it was in truth quite girlish, but this is precisely what made Cal realize that it was the exact same bracelet that Nancy gave him for their first anniversary as a gift.
Even his monogram was carved on it!
“Was it truly not a dream? Then how?”, asked himself quietly Cal, but a while later a sudden realization hit him.
“Did… Did I got reincarnated?!”
Touching the bracelet on his wrist and feeling the surface that he was so familiar with, Cal found it quite hard to believe that he was really reincarnated into another world.
“This… How?”
While Cal was mesmerized by the reality, suddenly a foreign voice sounded behind his back, making him to come back to reality instantly.
“Ah, here you are Khal. I was looking for you for ages, but it seems you came here to rest again. What a lazy head…”
Cal, who seemed to be named in this world a bit differently, names as Khal, turned around to face the one who has talked to him, but when he did, his eyes widened instantly.
Right before him, a girl at his age was standing a meter away from him, while she looked at him with a somewhat strict look.
She had long black hair with amber-brown eyes and porcelain skin. Her whole body was slim, but at the same time curvy, giving others a feeling that she was mature and sexy at the same time even though she only looked 16 years old.
But this wasn’t the reason why Khal was so stunned. No, the reason why he looked at the girl that shocked was that her whole appearance was totally the same as of his girlfriend’s from his past life, Nancy’s!
“This… How?”
“Huh? What do you mean how? I have finally found you, so stand up and let’s go back. Miss Mary will be angry if we don’t hurry. We still have a few chores to do.”, said the girl with a frown and after stepping closer to Khal, she grabbed him by his ear and made him to stand up.
“Auch! Auch! I get it! I get it! I will stand up, so let me be!”, shouted Khal in an instant, making the girl to smile with satisfaction instantly.
“That is what I like to hear.”, said the girl and after turning around she continued, “Let’s go. We need to hurry.”
“Wait!”
“?”
Hearing Khal’s sudden shout, the girl turned around and looked at him with a slight frown, and asked, “What?”
Khal seeing as the girl looked at him in the exact same manner as Nancy, scratched his head, and with a wry smile, asked, “Who… who are you?”
“…”
***
Somewhere else far away from Khal and the young girl, a small building was standing alone next to a dense forest.
It was a very old building with plants growing on its cracked walls, while the grass in the garden was almost two feet high.
It was an orphanage.
*BAM!*
With a loud bang, the door of the house got burst wide open and the girl from before walked in with an angry expression, while Khal, with a red left cheek followed her slowly from behind.
“I can’t believe you have really asked that question! Don’t even dare to talk to me from now on! Hmph!”
Watching as the girl ran into a room on the side and closed the door angrily, Khal touched his reddened cheek and mumbled, “I just asked a simple question. I don’t understand why she needed to slap me that hard.”
While he was standing all alone at the entrance, suddenly a young woman in her thirties appeared on the stairs before him.
“Did you make Liza angry once again? Haha! What did you do now?”, asked the woman gently as she looked at Liza’s room.
Hearing the voice, Khal turned his gaze at the woman slowly and stayed silent for a while.
Long brown hair, honey-colored eyes, and a sexily curvy body. She was the exact definition of a mature woman, even though that her clothing didn’t show it.
As Khal looked at the woman didn’t know what to say, so instead, he just started to smile wryly like some kind of fool.
Seeing his smile, the woman however sighed and said, “Remember Khal. Liza goes through the same things just as you, so please. Don’t make her hate you. You are the only one who has been left for her, but you know this too, so I don’t need to tell you this again.”
As the woman talked calmly, Khal’s smile slowly started to disappear.
However, when the woman noticed this, she immediately smiled warmly and said, “Well, don’t think it over. Just go and say sorry to her. After you have done that, please go out and hew down the grass. It has grown too much.”
After she said that, the woman picked up the clothes from the side and walked out of the building, leaving Khal alone once again in the middle of the hall.
“So she must be Miss Mary.”, said Khal quietly as he watched Miss Mary’s figure leaving the hall.
A while later he turned his gaze at the room, where Liza had gone to and after exhaling a deep sigh, he looked at the dairy in his hand.
“Let’s go and say sorry to her.”
