After pushing the entrance open, Khal walked into the building and looked around.
But to his surprise, the moment he entered the library, the interior of the place didn’t look as he believed it would look.
In his past life, a normal library looked like this: Several bookshelves in the middle in rows, while on the sides a few tables could be found here and there, where one had the chance to sit down and read.
But this wasn’t the case here. Instead of a sight like that, what Khal was able to see was a hall, which size was as big as several football fields place next to each other!
Not only was the whole place huge in length and width, but it was enormous even in height!
There were more than 10 floors, each having thousands if not millions of books on the huge shelves!
Because the place was a perfect square in shape, while the spiral-like staircase went all the way up to the top in the middle, Khal saw everything as clear as day.
Also, maybe he didn’t check the building’s size from the outside when he entered, but he must swear on his life that it was not this big.
The interior was soo huge that it was definitely a powerful expert’s doing who put such a huge space into this average-sized building with his or her unique Talent.
“Woah…”, was the only thing Khal was able to say right now as he thought about that.
In his past life, to avoid his parents, he spent almost half of his life in different places, from which one was libraries.
He didn’t quite like reading, so almost all the time he just slept, but there were occasions when he got bored so ended up reading books.
But compared to that sight from his memory to this… It was like comparing heaven and earth itself!
The contrast between the two was outrageously vast!
However, what made Khal even surprised, that even though the place was so big, filled with millions of books, he could only see a few people.
“Well, the least the quieter, no? Where should I start then?”, thought Khal calmly as he ignored the fact that he was almost alone in such a huge place and looked around.
Walking to the side to check the books, he was able to see that luckily each book was going in alphabetical order, so finding what he wanted shouldn’t pose a problem.
“Then let’s think. What do I want to know in the very beginning?”, thought Khal and started to ponder.
“Well, first, it’s should be the best to learn the basics knowledge of this world, right?”
Naturally, Khal understood a bit about the world he has been transmigrated into, but that knowledge could be said as useless.
Except for the fact he knew that in this world one cultivated through unique energy called as Beast Essence, he didn’t know a single thing.
He didn’t even know about the Cultivation Stages that he heard so far from both Jas and Noelle from the Cultivator’s Organization, even though they must be basic knowledge.
Just imagining the sight as someone asked him something so ‘basic’ and he would still just stand in one place like a retard…
The sight would be extremely humiliating.
It was like someone asked you how much 1 plus 1 was and you just looked into thin air without knowing the answer.
Well not like Khal would care about something like that it in the first place, but it was still better to be cautious. He did not really want others to think that he was kind of suspicious.
Unwanted attention brought unwanted problems and troubles.
“This, and this, and this. Yeah, let’s get this too.”
While strolling next to the bookshelf on the side slowly, Khal took off several books that he thought could be of any use to him.
Especially those ones that had the word ‘World’ or ‘Cultivation’ in their titles.
But because he was still on the very first floor, all the books in his hand had a kind of similar titles.
For example, a book that was almost as thick as his waist, had the title of ‘Articles About The World”, while another book had the title of, “Ancient Cultivation Articles”.
Maybe the books he has chosen will not give him any information at all, but he wouldn’t know it until he opened them and started to read.
That’s why after taking down several more books from the shelf from here and there, Khal turned around and looked around.
“That will be a perfect spot.”, thought Khal happily as he noticed a small table in the corner in the close distance.
Without hesitating any further, he moved forward and after arriving next to the table, he placed all the book in his hands down gently.
Pulling the chair out, Khal sat down and grabbed the first book.
‘Anecdote Of Realms’
“The title is a bit strange, but whatever.”, thought Khal and opened the book on the very first page.
He chose this book specifically because he remembered Neo mentioning something about Realms once in the old diary.
However, he only said that there were several Realms and those who reach the Final Stage in cultivation will be able to enter the Second Realm.
Though, he didn’t mention what Realms truly were or why they existed in the first place, so that’s why he choose this book.
“Maybe I will be able to learn a few things.”, thought Khal and started to read.
As he started to read the book in silence, in the beginning, he looked expressionless, but the more he deepened himself in the book to understand what it tried to say, the deeper his frown became.
Reaching almost the end of the book after reading for close to 3 hours straight, Khal started to massage his temple.
“It’s just the first book, but I already feel like my brain is about to explode.”
Glancing at the sentences on the book’s page, Khal sighed and leaned back into his chair.
“This world is way more complex than I have first thought.”
What he just read showed Khal that the world really was vast and mysterious and he was truly just one of the many out there.
The book he just read stated a lot of interesting things that made Khal quite curious.
It turned out that the Realms he read about in the diary in truth were like dimensions. There were several Realms, and each Realm was in its own dimension where various life forms existed.
For example, in the First Real which was called the Realm of Haven, humans cultivated through Beast Essence to reach the top Cultivation Stage and after that, they would break into the Second Realm.
However, as Khal was able to understand, the real cultivation and competing for resources only started from the Second Realm, the Realm of Cultivation.
Once one entered the Second Realm, one will be teleported onto a random planet, where not only creatures or monsters could be found as in the First Realm, but several other races too.
The book unfortunately only said other races, so Khal had no clue at all what or how they could have looked like.
As a result, he just thought about them like aliens or foreign beings, while letting their appearance depend on his imagination.
Also, what more he was able to learn, that in the Second Realm, one not only fought against other races for resources and Essence, but for their own life too.
It was said, that in the Realm of Cultivation only the fittest could survive.
If you entered that Realm with a weak Talent or unstable fundamentals, then what waited for you was nothing more but certain death.
“Also, it is said that each Realm has its own Cultivation Stages and characteristics, and once one reaches the final Stage and fulfill the Realm’s requirements, one should be able to break into the next Realm.”
So far, humans were only able to enter the Third Realm, known as the Realm of Misery.
However, it was also stated in the book that because the Third Realm was way far dangerous even for the strongest expert, no one really dared to enter it.
Even those who were bold enough to enter ended up dying only after a few days and because of that, not a lot of information remained for humanity.
But one thing was confirmed. After the Third Realm, there was another Realm for sure. As for what dangers that Realm held or if there were any other Realms after it, that was a total mystery.
But because no one survived so far to find it out, humanity could do nothing, but to wait patiently for someone who was powerful enough to do so.
“Interesting.”, thought Khal with a slight grin, and without a second thought, he extended his arm for the next book on his side.
