“Boss! While escorting the vehicle over, the Vanguard Leader mentioned spotting a few packs of virus carriers loitering nearby. Should we return and provide assistance before it was too late?” One said. It seems number Two had the same opinion as One did after listening to what the captain said.
“How big is the crowd?” Zhang Qin Feng asked.
“Not more than three packs. Estimated around two to three hundred zombies with one to two Tyrants in them.” Number Two said.
But as he finished answering Zhang Qin Feng’s question, the sound of a chain dragging on the ground can be heard. Seven individuals with blood still dripping from them are walking towards the camp.
The stench of iron doesn’t seem to be their own, but the victim they had killed.
And hanging on the chain was thirteen Tyrant’s heads.
‘Looks like I don’t even need to worry too much…’ Zhang Qin Feng thought. Evidently, he has been underestimating Zhang Tianci’s ability.
It seems that even without the help of an advanced weapon, Zhang Tianci could still slaughter the Tyrants effortlessly using his own ability.
Furthermore, the men following him also look as if they received a baptism of blood in them. Their ability, experience, and mental fortitude seemed to change qualitatively, making them much better than any Vanguard Team Zhang Qin Feng created.
For a split moment here, Zhang Qin Feng suspects if his decision of creating a super soldier like Zhang Tianci was correct.
Negatively speaking, what he was doing is no different from how the Seed Crystal Virus propagates itself. From infecting to evolving to Tyrant, it was just a way of ensuring its own survival.
Good or bad, there’s no point in regretting what’s done. As long Zhang Tianci’s loyalty to him was unquestionable, that is all he could ask for. Furthermore, Zhang Tianci was just the first out of his plan to push out ten elite clones using his genetic as their base.
“Boss,” zhang Tianci called him as he dropped the chair with thirteen Tyrant’s heads hooked on each link.
“We’ve cleared all the nearby virus carriers and secured the perimeters. This place is now safe for us to spend a night before we continue moving tomorrow,” he said.
“Good job, Tianci. You and your team have done well. Return to the main building we’re using early and take a rest for now. I’ll give you a call when we have something else in mind.” Zhang Qin Feng replied.
“Roger that, Boss. Disperse and rest until further orders!” Zhang Tianci made a salutation before his creator and left to the building orderly. The chain with thirteen trophies was left aside, as it no longer held a value for Zhang Tianci.
The reason Zhang Tianci brought this back was just to report himself to Zhang Qin Feng. And since no further questions were asked, the head ended up serving as a trophy of how many Tyrant he had killed.
“Alright. Return to the building and prepare to stay here for the night. Start distributing the resources and make a report of how much ammunition was used until now.”
“The medical team should monitor the 009’s captain’s situation under quarantine alert until we find a solution for this interference problem,” said Zhang Qin Feng.
“Roger that, Boss!” the other crewmembers responded and left to handle their own station.
“007’s captain and the other two… Come with me and continue where we stop,” he added before making his way back to the building as well. This was an entirely unfamiliar situation for Zhang Qin Feng, without the system supporting him.
The trio followed him into a room with more privacy this time.
This time, Zhang Qin Feng will have to put all his effort into listening and processing the situation the captain will summarize for him.
“Alright. Let’s continue. Simplify what you’ve told me earlier and go straight to the point.” Zhang Qin Feng said.
“Yes, Boss. I will start again from the beginning.” the captain responded and spoke in a calmer state of mind.
“Four days ago, a trap was triggered after the Vanguard Team found the hidden facility. We managed to get their final transmission but lost contact with them half a day later.”
“Out of worries, our fleet of five ships gathered and chained the ships together before approaching the island from the southwestern side.”
“We had no idea that there would be an interference messing with all our electronic equipment. By the time we noticed that we’d gone through the golden dome, it was already too late as all our systems were shutdown uncontrollably.”
“But luckily, the fast boat is still operational. To make sure we know what happened on this continent, two hundred fifty crews and the remaining 50 members from the Vanguard Team landed on this island to search for an answer.” said the 007’s captain.
But it doesn’t stop there. From the look of it, there’s still more for Zhang Qin Feng to digest before he comes up with a conclusion of what happened here.
“So far in our investigations, we’ve found out that there are several beacons capable of emitting a unique pulse that could jam all our electrical signals. From what our engineering team says, these beacons could be disturbing our equipment from working regularly.”
“We have plans to try destroying one of them to see if our suspicion was correct, but we ended up with another problem. That place was heavily guarded by the natives.” the captain had quite a hopeless expression shown on his face.
From his look, the natives are not as simple as what he was told earlier.
“And these natives, you said, are those super-soldier equivalent clones that have been living here for some time?” asked Zhang Qin Feng. He had heard about this a while back but found it hard to believe that a clone could control the zombie and Tyrants alike.
“Yes, Boss. They’re no different from our day-to-day clones. From their social hierarchy, they don’t seem to be too different from all of us. But the problem here is, they had a particular ability that allowed them to communicate and live along with the virus carriers.”
“Our initial report says that they could speak, write, work, and even do what all of us does. But could also control the virus carriers at the same time..” the captain added.
