Fate Online: Shadow Novel

Chapter 482 Monster Horde

Chapter 482 Monster Horde

Ignoring the chaos happening all over the world, Michael went back home and immediately dived back into Fate Online after a short talk with his parents.

Shua!

Shadow once again appeared in the valley, the place is still…

“As desolate as ever huh” Shadow murmured to himself as he started looking around him.

He checked his equipment and saw that everything was in order, then he summoned his arrogant pet rabbit, Aron. Who immediately jumped on his shoulder in glee as Shadow gave it a soft pat on its head.

Checking his [Map], Shadow continued his journey which had been delayed for days, deep into the Dragon Valley.

After walking around for a few minutes, Shadow realized that there was something amiss, “How come I haven’t seen a single monster all this while? Did something huge happen while I was away in the past several hours?”

Shadow didn’t immediately notice it at first since he was busy looking through his items and talking to his friends he hadn’t talked to in a while.

“It’s too quiet, not even a sound from an insect,” Shadow said, and even someone like him who already had a lot of blood on his hands felt slightly creeped out by the surrounding atmosphere.

“But this is also an opportunity for me since I don’t want to waste even a single second in this place” Shadow murmured as he quickly picked up his pace till he was sprinting.

As someone who wouldn’t miss this kind of chance where monsters seem to have disappeared, Shadow didn’t forget the chance to pluck up some valuable herbs that he had seen before but hadn’t been able to harvest them due to the presence of monsters before.

“This is pretty nice” Shadow murmured to himself while extracting an herb with the same characteristics as that of a ginseng found in the real world, but its berry was bright blue instead of the usual red.

[Dragon Ginseng] [Rare]

A rare herb that can only be found in places where there’s a lot of Dragon activity. A component for making the Dragonification Potion.

“Nice, though what’s this Dragonification Potion? It sounds quite powerful just from its name” Shadow asked himself as he stuffed the herb inside his [Inventory].

Somewhere around Dragon Valley, there is a huge circular hole in between two mountains with a small river running through it with towering trees on both sides of the river.

On one side of the river, with a table made of an unknown ore in between, there were two people facing each other. One of them is a man wearing a blood-red robe with the same hair color that reaches all the way to his shoulders, and sitting opposite of him is a woman, and looking at her face, she’s probably around her fifties. She was wearing a green robe with the same hair color.

“Dragon King, does the Dragon Valley really need to join this war again? Our race had already sacrificed too many during the last war” With a straightened back, the man asked the woman before her with respect.

Sipping an unknown drink before slowly placing the small cup down on the table, the so-called Dragon King answered, “Since the Dragon Race has always stood at the top of this continent, this is our responsibility, it always has been. We can’t shy away from it, especially now that the continent has been facing multiple unrest even before the emergence of the Sea Race. It had made the continent’s overall prowess weak. Dragon Lord, it is our time to once again appear and make those bastards from the Sea Race tremble in our presence! Stomp over them! Lead the children and show them the dignity of our race, the dignity of the Dragon Valley!”

Even though he was in objection, the Dragon Lord couldn’t help but have his body heat up from excitement while listening to her words since it had been a while since he had fought a worthy foe. Besides that, he had always wanted to square up with those people from the Sea Race after hearing many stories of their cruel history when he was still a child.

“I hear and obey!” Dragon King acknowledged her orders with a slight bow and an arm across his chest.

ROAR!

The Dragon Lord let out an ear-deafening roar that shook up the surroundings, and following his roar were a series of roars coming from all directions!

With a view from the sky, they would see that there are thousands of different kinds of monsters clustered together just outside the round valley and surrounding it. If this were normal times, these predators and prey would have fought each other to the death by now. But today was clearly an exception as they all mingled together in peaceful coexistence.

ROAR! ROAR!

SCREECH!

When they heard the dragon’s roar, all of them responded to it with their own! It was like the version of ten thousand Spartans shouting “HA-OOH! HA-OOH! HA-OOH!” as they marched for battle!

On a humongous towering tree, just below its crown, a silhouette of a person can be seen crouching on a tree branch and hiding behind the small branches of leaves as he watched the procession of the monster horde below him with shaky eyes.

“Well, it seems like a good show is starting again. The Undead Horde event is just wrapping up, but it seems like a new event is already in the making, and this time, those Dragons are even involved. This is going to be trouble since most of the players are still stuck on the other side of the continent due to the Undead Horde. The newbies are sure gonna suffer this time” When he wasn’t able to join the Undead Horde due to certain circumstances, he was bumped out for missing it.

But the moment he spotted this horde of thousands of monsters marching out towards the direction of the entrance of the Dragon Valley, Shadow felt an unprecedented excitement bubbling inside him.

“Though this is good news just after I came back, and there’s already a huge surprise waiting for me” Shadow snickered and he immediately contacted Solitary Tempest and the others to immediately haul their butts back here and even sent a recording of the Monster Horde as evidence.

[Cereal Killer: Whoa! Are those dragons!?]

[Minerva: This is going to be troublesome, the Undead Horde is still slowly getting wrapped up here. It seems like the newbies in the nearby kingdoms would face a setback if these monster hordes attacked the neighboring kingdoms]

[Azure Flower: Then we should immediately head back. After all, the Snow Village is also not far from Dragon Valley and would certainly get tangled in this mess]

[Shadow: Inform War Temple and the Alliance too. This cake is too big for just one guild to swallow]

[Cereal Killer: More like we don’t have the capability to swallow this cake for ourselves since it would eventually involve every guild and every nation in the game]

[Shadow: Also, send someone to inform Duke Arnold about this too so they can prepare to face them, and on another note, except for me, Solitary Tempest, and Viper, the rest of Revenants are missing in action]

[Minerva: Why? Did something happen?]

[Shadow: Just some small stuff from the past that they’re trying to wrap up. It’s no biggie]

[Miya: I want to see Aron!]

Closing the chat and ignoring Minerva’s sister, Miya, Shadow continued to observe and wait since it was suicide if he tried to get down right now, so he could only stay stuck there on the tree and wait for the monster horde to pass.
