Hidden Wife : Best Husband Novel

Chapter 21 - 21 - Nakji Bokkeum

Soo Yin entered through the back gate which was meant for employees. Her hands played the sling strap of the bag while continuing to step her feet. For some reason, if she’s around Dae Hyun, she always wants to get angry and think badly about him.

“Soo Yin, wait!” call Jae-hwa. Walk quickly towards Soo Yin.

Soo Yin looks at the back when she hears someone calling her.

“Hi, you didn’t bring the car?” asked Soo Yin when Jae-hwa was at her side.

“No, Grandpa took the car away,” says Jae-hwa breathlessly.

“What have you brought?” asked Soo Yin when she saw Jae-hwa carrying a plastic bag in his right hand.

“Ah, this … this … Grandma left something for you.” Jae-hwa shyly hands him a plastic bag.

“What is this?” Soo Yin stretches out her right hand to accept Jae-hwa’s gift.

“I don’t know, Grandma just said to eat for you,” says Jae-hwa, shrugging his shoulders. His grandmother had long supported Jae-hwa and Soo Yin to date. According to his grandmother, they were a good match.

Soo Yin untied the plastic bag a little. There was a very delicious aroma that penetrated her sense of smell. Seems to know the special smell of that food. Soo Yin is curious, so immediately opens to peek at it. It turns out that the contents are Nakji Bokkeum, a dish made with fried octopus served with stir-fried vegetables and hot sauce.

By looking at the delicious appearance and smell, Soo Yin couldn’t wait to eat it. Soo Yin thinks back to when she was in high school visiting Jae-hwa’s house. His grandmother prepared a very delicious Nakji Bokkeum dish. She felt ashamed that she had finished so much food there.

“It turns out that Grandma still remembers it,” said Soo Yin smiling shyly.

“Yes, Grandma also asked about you. Want you to visit us, Grandma will make more food for you,” said Jae-hwa.

“Thank you very much, next time I’ll visit Grandma,” said Soo Yin.

“You’re welcome,” said Jae-hwa.

“Come on, let’s eat together!” Soo Yin grabs Jae-hwa’s wrist to follow her.

Jae-hwa’s heart is pounding at this time. He repeatedly saw his hand being held by Soo Yin. Afraid that all this is just a dream.

It is the same as what Soo Yin used to feel in high school who admired Jae-hwa who was handsome and also smart. Some of her girlfriends are jealous that Soo Yin is close to Jae-hwa.

Without them knowing it, Dae Hyun had been following them to the pantry. Dae Hyun feels curious when he sees Soo Yin holding Jae-hwa’s hand and sees her laughing out loud with other men. Dae Hyun chose to peek through the glass window.

“Let us eat!” Soo Yin took out two bowls. She divides the food from Jae-hwa’s grandmother for the two of them.

“But this is only for you,” said Jae-hwa.

“It’s better to eat together,” said Soo Yin. Start feeding food into her mouth. When leaving earlier, Soo Yin didn’t have breakfast because she didn’t have the taste. But when she saw Nakji Bokkeum made her stomach struggle to ask to be filled.

Jae-hwa feels happy to be with Soo Yin. They haven’t spoken since graduation.

“Try it! It’s delicious!” Soo Yin feeds the food into Jae-hwa’s mouth.

Jae-hwa opens his mouth and starts chewing the food. It’s very delicious, especially when added to eat together with the girl he likes.

“Mr. Dae Hyun? Why are you standing here?” asked Jean who was going into the pantry.

“I … I just want to make coffee … black coffee,” said Dae Hyun. Surprised by Jean’s arrival, Dae Hyun was forced to enter the pantry.

Soo Yin and Jae-hwa turned their heads when they heard a voice chat. They were also surprised when Dae Hyun suddenly entered the pantry, even though he never once entered there.

“Good morning, Mr. Dae Hyun,” Jae-hwa said as he immediately stood up and shifted his chair and bowed his body.

Soo Yin didn’t do anything, remained busy eating the dish in front of her without any intention of greeting or turning around.

“It looks delicious! May I taste it?” Dae Hyun asked looking at Soo Yin who was eating, then sat in front of her to replace Jae-hwa.

“Yes?” Soo Yin looked at Dae Hyun’s face.

“Sorry, you will not like food like this,” said Soo Yin pretended to smile. Then take the food that’s in Jae-hwa’s bowl.

Suddenly Dae Hyun grabs the chopsticks Soo Yin used to eat. Eat all of them until there is nothing left. Dae Hyun feels annoyed when he sees Soo Yin’s closeness with Jae-hwa. Her attitude was very different when she was around him.

Soo Yin, Jean, and Jae-hwa just stare at their boss’s behavior. Especially Jean and Jae-hwa who are surprised to see Dae Hyun eating with Soo Yin’s chopsticks.

“Why do you … mean you finished all the food?” said Soo Yin. Jae-hwa’s grandmother’s food is too good, so she doesn’t want other people to eat it.

“Soo Yin, just let it go. I’ll tell Grandma to make more for you. Don’t be rude to Mr. Dae Hyun,” whispered Jae-hwa as he pulled Soo Yin’s arm.

“Just let it go, isn’t it rude to eat someone else’s,” said Soo Yin while pursing her lips.

“Sorry, I finished it all. I’ll send food to you,” Dae Hyun said to his feet. For a moment staring at Soo Yin with a smile.

“No need,” said Soo Yin in a flat tone.

“Thank you, sir,” said Jean. She elbowed Soo Yin’s stomach.

“Soo Yin, please deliver a drink to my office!” said Dae Hyun then hurried away.

Soo Yin just rolled her eyes.

“Jean, you deliver! I have to do something else.” Every night, remembering Dae Hyun didn’t come home with another woman made her want to keep getting angry.

“But …. ” argued Jean.

Soo Yin has stepped out of the pantry.
