I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World Novel

Chapter 342 - Phone Charging

“It has everything to do with the crisis,” Ceone stated.

“The Federation has sent countless objects into the chaos sea, but everything, no matter the object, was reduced to nothingness as they had been erased from existence. Some unknown power governs that space, and we call that power, Nihility.”

“Nihility is seeping into our universe and corroding everything we know from existence. So you can say that we are facing an existential crisis,” Cetwo stated half-jokingly.

“…”

Emperor Polemos furrowed his brows.

Seeing that Ceone nor Emperor Polemos laughed her pun, Cetwo felt somewhat dispirited.

She thought it was pretty good, but then again, a crisis threatening to return everything to nothingness was no laughing matter.

“Nihility? The power to reduce everything to nothingness, huh?” Emperor Polemos muttered with a frown, failing to grasp the full picture.

Without seeing it for himself, Emperor Polemos found it difficult to believe such a power existed.

An existing power that turns everything into non-existence; the notion of it was quite ironic.

“Of course, the Federation isn’t expecting the True Immortal to deal with this problem,” Ceone suddenly added.

“Our Demigod Federation Leader speculated that even the most powerful immortals from the Nine Divine Heavens will not be able to do anything about Nihility. No one can.”

“Our universe is coming to an end, and a new one be born in its place—or so we believe, but no one knows how it’ll happen,” Cetwo shrugged.

Shortly after, Cetwo stated, “The Federation requires the True Immortal’s strength in dealing with another True Immortal-level being.”

“There’s another True Immortal besides my Lord outside of the Nine Divine Heavens?” Emperor Polemos raised an eyebrow at the Regulators’ words.

However, Ceone shook her head and said, “Not a True Immortal, but a True Immortal-level being. A monster with an incredibly powerful physique and strength on par with True Immortals.”

Or so the Federation thinks.

However, no one in the Federation, not even the Demigod Federation Leader, could confirm how exactly powerful the monster is.

“It suddenly appeared from a spatial rift one day and started wreaking havoc on the Federation. Unfortunately, our Federation’s Demigods are helpless against it. Thus we can only seek the True Immortal’s help.”

Ceone and Cetwo stressed the importance of the matters before Emperor Polemos finally nodded.

“Since it seems pretty urgent, this Emperor will make the call and check on the Lord right now,” Emperor Polemos stated before pulling his black smartphone.

Ceone and Cetwo expressed their appreciation.

Shortly after, Emperor Polemos made the call with a serious look, fully prepared for the consequences of potentially disturbing his Lord’s business.

Ring, ring…

Beep!

<Your call has failed to reach Albion Black. The person’s phone could be off or out of service. Please try again another time>

The automated message sounded after a short ring.

“…”

“…”

Everyone was silent for a moment.

Emperor Polemos felt somewhat relieved before saying, “Well, it seems that my Lord is currently unavailable. We can only try again later.”

At that moment, Albion had returned to the Glacia continent after abandoning his plans for closed-door cultivation in his hilltop mansion.

Upon reaching Stronghold GC-01, Albion noticed the evident change to the place.

Many new buildings have been set up, both within and outside of the stronghold, and the road connecting the six strongholds was starting to take shape.

Much work had been done within a few days, and it was only possible due to the inexhaustible construction droids sent from Damocles.

Albion handed the unconscious Fenriri over to Fenrira and explained the general situation before he left to pick 10 Iceborn Wolf Tribesmen and perform Divine Impartation on them.

Ding!

<10 units of divine energy has been expended>

<Balance: 67/1000 Divine Energy>

The process required his True Immortal state, but there was no way around it in order to use Divine Impartation.

After the job was done, Albion resealed his cultivation.

“Thank you, Boss! With this many able-speakers, communication with the wolf-people will be smoother from now on,” Roderick Patrick, the human in charge of Stronghold GC-01, stated.

“Don’t mention it,” Albion waved his hand casually before saying, “If there’s nothing else, then I will be leaving.”

However, he suddenly paused when he noticed his phone’s battery was dead.

“Hm…” Albion hummed.

An idea suddenly lit up in his head, but he quickly refrained from acting on it right away.

“Boss…?”

Roderick Patrick glanced at him with a questioning look before Albion glanced back and suddenly said, “Does your phone need charging? Pass me your phone for a sec.”

“Eh? Uh, sure…” Roderick Patrick fished out his phone and offered it with both hands, “Here you go, Boss.”

“Thanks.”

Albion casually accepted the phone.

Shortly after, he transformed his spiritual energy into lightning energy and attempted to charge Roderick Patrick’s smartphone.

However…

Poof!

The phone got overcharged and had its circuits toasted.

He made the right call not to use his own phone for the first attempt.

Albion and Roderick Patrick silently glanced down at the phone resting on his hand with white smoke rising out of it before he offered it back, “Here, it’s charged.”

“…”

Roderick Patrick wanted to cry.

What did the boss mean by charged? More like overcharged and butchered.

What has his phone done to deserve such treatment?

“Ahem, you can charge my phone and use it until you get a new one in the meantime,” Albion coughed and said, “I won’t be needing it for a while since I’ll be heading to the other world to cultivate.”

“Master, can I come too?” Fenrira returned after settling Fenriri down in her home before she asked with a hopeful gaze.

Although it might be dangerous, following the master was bound to be beneficial to her growth.

Unfortunately, Albion shook his head and refused her request, “No, you can’t.”

“Normally, I would not mind taking people along with me. However, the place I intend to go, others won’t be able to follow me.”

After hearing that, Fenrira became dispirited.

However, Albion suddenly thought he would still need someone to guard his body during his soul trip and quickly changed his mind.

“Never mind. You can come along.”

“Yes, Master!”

Fenrira’s eyes sparkled at once.
