Chapter 7: Became The Outer Disciple

Chapter 7: Became The Outer Disciple

Qin Yi did not go straight to his quarters. Before that, he wanted to visit his friend’s quarter first.

He wants to share the good news with his friend.

“Aiya~ Showing off your achievements in front of your incompetent friends always feels really good. I wonder why~.”

“I wonder~.”

Qin Yi is humming along the way in a good mood, even the birds chirping along with him as if it understood his current mood.

When he arrived in front of Zheng Ming’s quarter, he suddenly heard a scream from the inside.

???

He knocked on the door and asked worriedly, “Buddy, are you alright?”

‘This fatty… do not tell me he wants to commit suicide because of the pressure I’ve been putting on lately?’

No way, that fatty is not that kind of fatty!

Thinking about this, Qin Yi could not help anxiously bang the door, “Fatty, I know that you’ve been depressed lately, but you don’t have to do this. We can talk it nicely, alright?”

“Suicide is not the only quickest way to reach the Heaven, cultivate is the safest way to reach there. As long as we cultivate diligently, we can ascend to the Heaven together, okay? Even though your aptitude is a bit worse than mine, your cultivation is slower than mine, your face is uglier than mine, and your luck is worse than mine, there might be some way to change it better.”

“Do not give up, fatty! Remember you family throw you into this place, remember your friends who always shame everything you do, remember the Deacon who always cut your ratio because you are too greedy for food, remember-“

However, before he managed to finish his sentence, the door suddenly opened, revealing a chubby figure with weird and complicated looks on his face.

Zheng Min was actually celebrating a joyous thing. After two and a half years, he finally managed to sense the spiritual energy around him. It would not take him long to be able to absorb the spiritual energy into his body and cultivate it into qi.

When the time came, he could show off to his buddy, Qin Yi, who always kept pestering him to cultivate.

That bastard has been noisy and annoying lately to the point that he felt pressure every time they met.

Today, I, Zheng Min, wanted to shut that bastard’s mouth up with his outstanding achievement!

However, he did not expect that Qin Yi would appear outside his house today.

Moreover, that guy keeps babbling nonsensical things like he was about to commit suicide and more…

The more he listened, the more speechless he became until he could not stay still any longer.

Zheng Ming gritted his teeth and asked, “Bastard, what the hell are you spouting about?”

“Oh!” Qin Yi, seemingly surprised by the sudden appearance of his buddy: “I see, you are fine. That’s good, that’s good. I thought you-“

“What about me?” Zheng Min angrily looked at Qin Yi.

Qin Yi gulped and thought for a second, “I thought you were sleeping.”

“Heh”

Zheng Min sneered and said inwardly; you must think that I am deaf!

“Don’t be angry, buddy, I am just worried about you.” Qin Yi appeased his buddy and sighed slightly, “I heard you screaming from inside and I thought something bad happened to you. That is right, I was just worried about you.”

Zheng Ming rolled his eyes.

“What could happen to me? I just celebrated myself because something good happened while I was cultivating.”

“Oh, I knew it! How could my buddy committed such desperate moves he he…”

“More importantly, Qin Yi, I heard someone keep calling me ‘Fatty’. Do you know who is that? I kind of want to beat that fellow.”

“Eh? You must have misheard it. That wise and handsome fellow called you ‘Buddy’ not ‘Fatty’.”

“But I heard it clearly-“

“Come, come, let me tell you some good news…”

***

The next day when the sun began to rise and radiated its rays to the surface.

Qin Yi spiritedly makes his way to the outer sect.

Compared to the Novices’ Quarter, the atmosphere of the outer sect was more vigorous and the spiritual energy denser. It can be said that the Novices’ Quarter was like a barren land compared to the outer sect.

When Qin Yi arrived at the outer sect, he began to imbue his spiritual energy to the jade that given by the Deacon yesterday.

As soon as he did it, a spiritual line appears in his mind as it guides him to a specific place.

He follows the guideline without hesitation.

The outer sect does not lack diligent disciples. In this early morning, he saw many outer disciples exercising under the sunlight and some heading toward the Martial Hall to practice.

Along the way, Qin Yi tried to lower his head as much as possible for fear that his eyes would accidentally meet some of the outer disciples’ eyes and offend them.

He was very cautious regarding this matter.

Some people are open-minded, and some people are narrow-minded. It is all about how people view themselves over the people below them in term of strength and status.

As a new outer disciple and cultivation base only at the First Stage of the Qi Condensation, Qin Yi knew very well his place.

Although he is very greedy over Cultivation Points from some outer disciples, they are not within the extraction range. Getting close to them is risky; it is not worth only a few Cultivation Points.

His current priority is to reach Registration Hall safely and officially become the outer disciple.

When he has become the outer disciple, he can think of how to extract Cultivation Points from his fellow disciple as much as possible.

—— A momentary greed would only lead you into a failure.

As Qin Yi trod a narrow road that led away from the main gate, soon, he reached the flat area filled with countless houses inhabited by the Sleeping Dragon Sect’s outer disciples.

In front of him stretched a scene of carved balustrades and marble steps, tall buildings, and roads paved with grey stone. Outer Sect disciples bustled about wearing navy blue robes. A few of them noticed Qin Yi as he walked past.

Some of them shot him contemptuous glances- which lacked even the slightest bit of good intent. Some of them were also curious, and some just took a glance and acted unconcerned.

Qin Yi ignored it all as he walked further and further away until he reached a tall and white building in the outer sect’s southern section.

As he approached, the building’s main door opened noiselessly and out walked an elder in a long robe of deep green. He lifted his right hand in a grabbing motion, and the jade slip flew into his hand. He looked at it then began to speak languidly:

“Qin Yi has been promoted to the outer sect. He shall officially acknowledge as an outer disciple and be bestowed with Dragon Cave, Outer Disciple’s robe, Treasure Token, and a storage pouch. You can use Treasure Token to enter the Treasure Pavilion to retrieve an Artefact.”

The elder waved his right hand, and a storage pouch appeared in Qin Yi’s hands.

Qin Yi looked at the storage pouch for a moment; he saw one and currently exists at the corner Storage System.

The elder looked at Qin Yi and could instantly tell that he was not familiar with it. Feeling a bit bad for him, he coolly said, “By imbuing the bag with spiritual energy, you can pack many things into it. As a new outer disciple, you shall also receive 15 Qi Strengthening Pills and 15 spirit stones. Cultivate well, kid!”

Can I pack many things into it? Isn’t it just pouch-shaped cubic cardboard?

However, Qin Yi did as the elder instructed and imbued the pouch with a sizable spiritual energy amount. It grew blurry, and then he caught a glimpse of space inside about one cubic. There, he could see a blue navy robe, Treasure Token, and some other objects.

He concentrated, and Treasure Token suddenly appeared in his hand. He focused his attention even more and found that inside the bag was a map of the outer sect quarter, including the map of his cave-dwelling.

“You can go to the Treasure Pavilion and show the Treasure Token to the elder in charge.” The elder said.

Qin Yi lifted his head and stuffed the storage pouch into his robe.

Clasping his fist in salute to the elder, and said respectfully, “Thanks for the elder’s guidance. This junior will take his leave!”

“Go!” The elder waved his sleeve and entered the building.

“System, perform casual extraction on the elder in front of me!”

The next second, a mechanical voice resounded in Qin Yi’s ears.

[Extraction Failed!]

[Note: The target’s strength exceeds the maximum extraction limit that the current Host allowed to perform.]

Qin Yi raised his eyebrow and thought it was understandable since the person in front of him is an elder.

He did not ponder it any longer as he hurriedly leaves the Registration Hall.
