Chapter 18: Infiltration is so easy dude

[Epic Quest!]
[Infiltrate the noble household, find the proof of his betrayal and schemes, then pass those to Yuki.]
[Rewards: 10 000 EXP, Your Black Rose’s Shadow Mana Control will level up in rank, friendship with Yuki +20, Your Fame in both Black and Blue Rose +10]
[Epic Reward: Jolni Province +20 EXP Boost.]
“Fame, huh… The same as friendship, but on a wider scale,” Reylin confirmed his quest before the noble’s mansion unfurled before him.
The friendship could go either way, but it was pretty funny how it exposed NPCs’ emotions and feelings towards players.
This status also could evolve into a lover.
It was hard for love between NPC and Player, at least in the current time with so many differences. Players logged into the game whenever they felt so, and they also could drop responsibilities at any time.
Besides, the fruit between males and females also couldn’t come out if they were NPC and Player!
In other words, pregnancy was impossible, and players couldn’t really feel how it would be to be a father or mother in the game.
Game Developers didn’t comment on that, so many had hope for a future…
Fame was just a wider friendship.
Each city and any other stronghold had fame.
New players would have their fame at 0 upon entrance, and then it could go both ways as well. If one’s fame dropped below zero, their information bar would be displayed for all residents in the respective city. Everyone inside would know that such a person was no good.
At some point, the fame at the minus level would turn into a criminal that everyone would be able to know about with just a glance.
If fame went up, then one would get admiration from others and many other perks.
Since Reylin’s first beginner city was under Blue Rose, getting fame in their ranks was better than just getting fame in the city! It would spread easier into other cities under their jurisdiction.
Reylin didn’t care much about these. His eyes were only on the juicy EXP Boost.
[The Guard Lv. 30 HP:??? MP:???]
The noble mansion was as luxurious as possible.
It spanned over a few kilometers, its marble walls proudly protecting the vast territory. Red roses with thorns decorated the walls while blending into the noble design. The gates were wide open as well, and Reylin could peek inside.
At first glance, the grass differed.
Within the grounds, it seemed like someone sprinkled mana onto nature. The grass was like a soft carpet, vividly green and carefully trimmed. The leaves occasionally fell on it, but the constant wind drew those back high, making the leaves constantly dance along with the trees.
In the middle, the marble pavement led to the mansion.
Many sculptures of beautiful fantasy women such as sirens stood on both sides…
From where Reylin stood, however, nature was just a nature, nourished by natural mana. His eyes narrowed, and he whispered, “This motherfucker put everything into looks. He’s so desperate to look noble that he’s about to get fucked by the real one.”
Reylin came from a wealthy family, so he was on the spot.
He inferred that the noble was so lost he just did everything to appear noble.
That man probably hadn’t visited the royal castle in a while and searched for means to get more wealth from different sources.
Anyway, Reylin flicked his fingers, erased his fireball, and calmly strutted forward.
He didn’t cover his face nor his body, and wearing the beginner clothes, Reylin passed over the guards, “Hmm.”
He used the newest skills to infiltrate, and just by erasing his presence, Reylin invaded the new land.
His mana control was superb, and it showed right now!
However, Reylin shook his head, “I want to blow up this whole place.”
The air was unbearable here, and constantly breathing such boosted air would soon make Reylin lose his mind. However, he held on and kept going forward while utilizing those new skills.
“If the mere guard is level 30, then that knight woman must have been frail,” Reylin reminisced about Alyona.
He asked Yuki about her, and she told him a little about the knight.
That little was just her background, and it was one of the vassals under Blue Rose’s Royal Family.
Thus, for the knight to work against newbies, it must have been quite a blow to receive the level 30.
All her other siblings had much higher levels, worthy of their family surname.
Because of such a background, Reylin ‘forgave’ Alyona and didn’t pursue any revenge against her. That punishment brought more good to him anyway.
Once Reylin entered the house, he spread his mana, and a few red dots flashed on his minimap.
Those dots were all living beings here.
“I can’t discern between the player and resident yet.”
That was not all.
Reylin couldn’t discern between the monster and people too!
That was for the later training!
The first infiltration was one significant training, however.
Reylin didn’t equip his robes because he wanted to test his skills against the guards. Had he gotten caught, he would have explained that he was just mindlessly exploring the area, and that was it.
But since everything had gone so smoothly, Reylin took out his robes and decided to search the mansion seriously.
Reylin found the noble’s office in just a few minutes.
Before the doors, he found a group of five players that had never met each other before. They talked about each other, getting familiar as all of them had been chosen by the same noble!
The noble that would give them awesome quests and skills.
He had already lured them by skill for Lv. 25!
Reylin chuckled and listened to them.
“I didn’t know whether it would be worth it, but now that I am playing this game, it was damn worth it.”
“You dropped your part-time job to play it, but I understand. I heard that the money exchange will be up in just a week, you know? I am pretty excited to find some unique item first and sell it for a nice sum of money!”
“Haha! Yeah! While others just fight cheap monsters, we are about to set our foot in serious and epic shit! Let’s do it, guys!”
Clap! Clap! Clap!
Immediately after the last guy’s excitement flared up the hearts of the rest, the man in black robes revealed himself.
He applauded and slowly strutted toward them.
Black Rose’s Shadow’s skill changed that man’s voice, and it sounded kinda robotic.
“You guys are such good lads. You made me realize two important things,” Reylin stopped clapping and pointed his finger at them, “Infiltration is so easy.” He inhaled, “But not for me!” And in an instant, Reylin brought his hand closer to the wall.
In his disguise, he took out the mage staff and feigned the mage fire skill!
It came out of his hand, but that show was to keep his identity hidden.
Some memes were already going on, so it wouldn’t hurt to be a little sneaky.
The flames spread like wildfire, and the whole corridor lit up!
“G-Guards?! Maids?! Lord Hiba?! Where are you?! There’s fucking psycho right here!” The players banged at the doors to the office!
Alas, those remained closed!
Of course, the noble had already noticed something was going on! He stood up to open the doors and check the situation.
But that would take some time.
A time that the players desperately needed!
In an ocean of flames, Reylin raised his eyes, and his chin went up. He spread his arms and let out fireballs from both his hands. Those bombs barrelled and destroyed the mansion further, fanning the flames like the worst disease.
It was fine at this point since the flames embraced him wholly.
For players, he stood like an existence meant to bring doom.
His face was nowhere, but the faint eerie laughter brought them down onto the knees.
They were scared and wounded, to say nothing of the flames constantly draining off their HP!
But at that moment, they all just wanted to escape that game reality and return to real life!
“Hahaha!”
Reylin stood out in the ocean of flames. He laughed and looked around the mansion with his heart pumping out more relief as the flames spread around!
Just by standing and letting out his flames, Reylin calmed himself a little.
He wanted to destroy that mansion so badly… And now, he went for it!
“I… I will return to my part-time job! Mom’s always right! I will!”
“I will work in both the game and in real life, even! The farmer can also get some juicy gold coins, can’t he?! Money exchange! Banzai!”
“Log out?! Where is the logout button?! I can’t see because of those flames! Ah damn! It prickles so much!”
At last, the doors sprang open, and Lord Hiba revealed himself.
His eyes landed on Reylin instantly as the black robes stood out in the flames’ ocean.
Reylin also looked down on him, his head tilting to the side, “Lord Hiba… You have galls to make others call you per Lord or anything noble. Clown fits you better, both personality and appearance-wise. You just lack a red nose, to be honest.”
Hearing the robotic voice and seeing those black robes, Lord Hiba’s mind shook as he remembered the rumors about the particular group.
He stood frozen and scared, listening to Reylin.
“If I kill you, I am gonna save those poor people from being used by you. Guards, maids, and all other personnel will find good work rather than working for a guy who plots with his kingdom’s enemies.” Reylin whispered, his voice only audible in Lord Hiba’s ears as the flames howled!
He added, “Killing such a piece of shit like you seems so easy, and I don’t feel anything, even if you ‘don’t respawn’. Have you made me angry enough, or is it the lack of flames?” At that moment, Reylin finally peeked at Lord Hiba’s level.
[Lord Hiba Lv. 50 HP: ??? MP: ???]
“I guess there is a lack of flames.” Reylin chuckled, then joined his both hands, “Fireball.”
It was time for the serious battle against the existence of five times the level!
