Chapter 195: Return
Christmas was just around the corner.
The situation around the world subsided, and a new profession has been announced – the hero! The heroes would make sure people never abused their supernatural abilities and solve all world mysteries.
The best hero was Maya, who was one of the Crimson Dragon’s women! She led many heroes, worked hard, and everyone liked her.
Reylin spent days going between the third and first layers.
He focused on building up his strength for the upcoming battle with the Sin Of Pride, Superbia. But he also focused on his family.
First of all, it would take some time for Superbia to find them. Secondly, Reylin didn’t know where that man was.
It wasn’t like he knew how to move between worlds as that knowledge would take time.
He then wasn’t in a hurry.
It was nice that he could give a wonderful childhood to his daughter.
At his family meeting, Reylin was called by Rose.
She was one of the women that showed affection and hard work, so Reylin liked her. If she were to confess, he would gladly give her his surname.
It wasn’t like Reylin was easy.
He had just limited the circle around him.
“What’s up, Rose?” Reylin asked as Rose wanted him to go on a walk with her.
However, Reylin soon found out that Rose’s body smelled different. She was similar to him, the dragon.
It seemed like her journey in the second layer brought fruits, and she probably wanted to show off her progress.
Reylin looked forward to that.
However, what Rose did surprise him more than ever.
Rose guided him to the small island not too far away from Reylin’s continent. That island was Reylin’s sole property.
Existences that threatened Reylin were here, shrouded in an ice tomb.
Rose stared at them, then whispered, “You can melt them and erase them with just one flicker… But you won’t do it because it is Yuki’s ice… From my research and bloodline knowledge, I have learned the skill called Ancient Ice Resurrection.
As long as ice possesses even a shred of consciousness, I can bring that person back to life,” Rose said faintly.
Those words left Reylin shocked, and he asked to confirm, “You can bring Yuki back?”
“Yes,” Rose nodded, not taking eyes off the ice tomb, “She must have left a seal, right? That seal should possess a little of her consciousness. This will bring her back.”
Reylin promptly fished out Yuki’s seal, then passed it to Rose.
She glanced at it, then didn’t let Reylin wait.
She used ancient skills.
Her body flashed with thousand ice sparks, then her dragon bloodline howled. That process looked quite intimidating, but Reylin’s heart sank… He knew what kind of price Rose paid for this skill to work.
Once the ice sparks subsided, an ice dragon came out from Rose’s back. It swallowed the ice that swathed the abomination parts.
It then opened its jaw, and the sleeping ice beauty slowly slid down onto the ground.
At the same time, Rose puked blood and dropped onto her knees.
Reylin supported her, “The price was your bloodline and mana…”
This turned Rose into a normal human.
She wouldn’t even be able to fight against Lv. 3 monsters.
Her strength was that low now that she sacrificed her bloodline.
However, her blood and mana were required to bring back Yuki.
And so, she paid the price.
“It’s true… that I wanted strength… Immense strength to keep the lives of my people free of any worries… The dark matter… Players… They are no longer a problem… You have saved my people, not me… They follow you now while I paled into the background.
While it’s true that I still supported them and gained enough strength to continue to support them, I always had that worry within myself… A worry that I wouldn’t find happiness for myself… Isn’t that what you wanted me to find, Reylin?” Rose smiled faintly.
She then added, “I can look out for happiness as a normal human now… All my worries are now gone. Thank you for taking care of me, Reylin..”
Although he was Sin Of Wrath, Reylin’s heart often bloomed with many emotions. He smiled gently at Rose, then caressed her hair, “You will always be a unique woman… And what normal human? If you can get dragon bloodline, you can get it back. If not a dragon, then a phoenix… And if not a phoenix, then different. I will find mana for you and your body, Rose…”
Reylin brought his face closer to Rose, then kissed her forehead, “Thank you. You two will be women close to my heart.”
“It’s my… pleasure,” Rose blushed and looked to the side.
Reylin called his Crimson Dragon, put Rose on its back, and brought sleeping Yuki here. He carried them to his castle, then both of them had a good rest on his royal bed.
News of Yuki’s return reached the ones she was close with.
Soon enough, Yuki opened her eyes and recalled the events that had happened.
Of course, she knew that she had died, so what was the reason for her consciousness being awake? But as she moved and felt the touch and warmth, Yuki trembled and realized that she had unconsciously hidden a little of her consciousness within the seal.
And that seal allowed her to return.
“Abomination!” Yuki shouted.
Reylin suddenly grasped her hand and whispered, “Am I an abomination?”
She turned her head to the side and saw Reylin more handsome than ever.
The gap between them became so big, but Yuki soon learned about the Crimson Dragon, his feats, and naturally about Rose’s sacrifice.
“I hope you haven’t forgotten to whom you belong, Yuki,” Reylin smiled widely.
As Yuki’s failed mana was cured through the sapphire dragon’s bloodline, her emotions returned, and she blushed like a young maiden in love.
She nodded, “I am yours… I will never forget that.”
“Haha,” Reylin chuckled, “Come, I will take you for a nice adventure. You have to meet others and see my daughter.”
It was yet another pleasant day before the final battle.
