Chapter 45 - Multitasking

Chapter 45: Multitasking

“Since you’ve come here just for me, I must take good care of you,” Reylin said.

He was still hugged by Yuki, and it was her keeping him close to herself, which made Reylin look a little foolish.

However, his stamina kept regenerating, and with the treasures on his body, it would be just a matter of time before he moved on his own.

Yuki’s ice eyes closed, “You have developed an interest in me?”

“Correct,” Reylin bluntly replied, “Let me be clearer. I feel like I can develop love between you. You are the second person I am going to talk about it with.”

In this way, Reylin began his speech about love and business. He stressed out how these two things were similar, and he didn’t forget to add that he wasn’t a businessman.

Of course, Yuki didn’t show much on her face, but confusion rippled in her eyes.

Reylin chuckled, “You are the same. You developed an interest in me. It’s probably because I am neutral, and you can open yourself easier to me. For me, you are a woman with an influential background, and I like your openness.

That is why I will show you more of myself. Like in a business, I will display a few of my cards and make your interest in me grow higher. And since you are honest with me, I will be frank with you as well.

Frankly, I want to do multitasking, and I need someone to pull the mobs.”

“Is a conversation one of those tasks?” Yuki asked before replying.

And after Reylin nodded, she said, “Then, let’s talk about the business and emotions.”

In this way, both of them got what they wanted.

Reylin raised his friendship with Yuki, and she talked about the recent changes in the Blue Kingdom.

Those changes were what she and Reylin had talked about before.

And a handful of players became closer with the kingdom due to that advice.

It was hard for hungry players to care much about the world, though.

Reylin replied, “It’s like skipping the content. They just want rewards. I guess you have to tell them through the action. To be honest, my example back then was a kind of action itself. You helped me, didn’t you? Haha.”

“Players are bothersome,” Yuki sighed.

She had come here to help Reylin, and he also requested an item from her. That was what Steel Melody had used to draw the attention of the guards and their general… The Black Rose was always in the shadows!

And since she hadn’t gone back, Reylin knew she was here all for him.

He didn’t waste the chance, and Yuki also seemed like a good partner for both business and love.

“Well then. This is my black staff. I have unlocked two skills for the staff, and I just want you to draw monsters toward one direction.” Reylin tapped his system, and his staff’s window appeared before Yuki’s eyes.

She read the content and asked, “You did it alone?”

“Alone.”

After asking a few more questions, mainly about her task, Yuki agreed to work with him for some time.

[You have entered the Aquarium Leveling Ground.]

[Aquarium Leveling Ground is a unique leveling ground owned by three boss insects.]

[Ant Colony: Recommended Lv. 20-35]

[Bee Paradise: Recommended Lv. 35-45]

[Mantis Kingdom: Recommended Lv. 45-55.]

“This is the place where the guild competition will be conducted,” Yuki said while standing before the forest.

The forest wasn’t the usual forest because the trees and leaves were much bigger. If the forest was in such a state, what about the ants? Of course, they were much bigger than humans, and they were ready to eat anyone coming in.

The place was called the Aquarium because transparent barriers had emerged from all six sides to protect the province. Otherwise, the colony and other monsters here would have long since expanded their territories.

Reylin found out about this place from miners’ talks, and it wasn’t that far away.

“What I want to do is hunt some ants, I guess. I will be practicing my Flame Artist Class next to you while you pull the monsters in our direction. At the same time, my black staff will do its job by drawing my mana to bring out the fireball and flamethrowers.” Reylin said about his multitasking, “In the meantime, we can talk. There’s much more to the kingdom, isn’t there?”

“It is,” Yuki replied.

At that time, a few ants came to their side.

Those ants had sensed their arrival, and their antennas and scissors kept going back and forth! Of course, those weren’t the most frightening parts about them. What frightened the many was their size.

They were giants, and no sane player would face them with a stoic expression.

The resident, Yuki, had her icy eyes on them without emotions rippling on her face.

Surprisingly or not, Reylin had a broad smile, “My mana is limited. Let me set the forest on fire first.”

“The Aquarium is one of the places I would love to see extinguished,” Yuki commented and approved Reylin’s flamethrower!

After the flames swept through the leveling ground, the ants stomped forth. They wouldn’t let those humans taint their land!

However, the cold fog left Yuki’s robes, and it froze their limbs.

The ants stopped moving, and just their heads were free to move! Alas, there was still a lot of distance between them and humans, their thrashing pointless.

Reylin sat down with the flames massaging his back, “Well. My business partner, and future girlfriend, look at what I can do.”

His hand let out flames, and those were much more docile. Of course, Reylin’s mana control increased, and his skills rose, but he also used his Flame Artist Class at this very moment!

All mattered not to Yuki, and she got impressed by his growth.

The flames took care of the ore, and he began crafting the crown.

Of course, a crown was what Reylin would show as that was his best project and the one that had the unique aura!

At the same time, Reylin’s Black Staff howled and let out the flamethrower. That fire also spat out fireballs, and the hell rose!

[You have killed Big Ant Lv. 38]

[You have killed Big Ant. Lv. 40]

[You have killed…]

“What’s the rank of those flames?” Yuki asked.

“It is C,” Reylin chuckled.

“Already? I see… You are the business partner all people would fight for.”

“I am not a person blind enough to disagree with the Black Rose, so I guess you are right. I do much more enjoyable business with significant women, however.” Reylin replied.

He ended his crafting, and the blue crown came out of it.

It was a ring, and Yuki took it with great interest.

She already sat down next to him and did similar multitasking with her ice freezing the ants independently.

Her eyes scrutinized the ring, and she said, “Is it for me?”

“It is.”

“Maybe a few of my emotions will be sealed here…” Her face softened. Her eye shifted to Reylin, who had already been suspecting something, “I have a failed ice mana within me. It is eating up my emotions, and soon, I will be nothing but an ice, cold mage.

You don’t have to worry about the business, however. Even without any emotion, I will work for the Blue Kingdom. But if you want to muddle my eyes with love, and grasp my heart, then you don’t have much time. A few months, at least.”

“Women are so troublesome, but so am I,” Reylin didn’t react like Yuki had expected, “Do you want your emotions to be eaten? Who would want, really? If you can’t deal with it, leave it to my flames.”

Reylin grabbed Yuki’s hand, and his flame release coiled around her! Since she possessed failed ice mana and was at a high level, those flames didn’t do much to her. Her HP didn’t even drop, and it seemed like nothing could melt the ice around her!

Reylin snickered, “Not hot enough? One day, it will be hot enough to melt that failed ice mana and bring back your emotions. For that to happen, we have to plant a seed of love, however.”

“How do we plant it?” Yuki asked, a hope rippling in her eyes!

Reylin noticed it, and he brought his face closer, “I happen to have that seed on my tongue.”

“Mmm.”

And they kissed, which was just another task to their multitasking.
