Shishio and Saki faced each other for a while and the tense atmosphere turned calm.
Shishio had to admit that Saki was very beautiful, especially the beauty mark under her right eye, giving her a unique charm and her short choppy bangs made her become cute.
Saki’s appearance was quite wild and she had this serious expression on her face, and from this alone, Shishio could tell that this girl was easily misunderstood.
“It’s alright, you don’t need to worry. I am sure that anyone will help you if they see the same situation,” Shishio said calmly.
“No, not all people will help me.”
Saki shook her head since she knew that most people would pretend they didn’t see anything when they saw she was being grabbed by a group of men before. She knew that if Shishio didn’t help her before, she knew that she would lose her innocence and when she thought about it, she was full of fear.
Shishio noticed that Saki’s body was trembling and had a feeling that she remembered what had happened before, which caused her to be in fear, but it was normal since she was almost being violated, and he had to admit that this girl was very strong since she didn’t cry after she encountered all of that.
Shishio looked at Saki and guessed that this girl should be at her high school. He thought for a while and knew that this girl should be one of the characters among the stories that he had read or watched in his previous lives, but right now, she was alive, she was real, and it was better to not mix the thing between fiction that he read in his previous lives and the reality which happened in front of him.
“May I ask, why are you still outside when it is so late?” Shishio asked in confusion, wondering whether Saki was on her part-time job or something.
“I…” Saki was quite hesitant to answer Shishio’s question.
“If you don’t want to answer, then you don’t need to force yourself to answer,” Shishio said since he could see that Saki was troubled by his question and he could mostly guess why she had come out tonight.
“Yes…” Saki nodded and felt grateful, but at the same time, she felt a bit disappointed, wondering whether he didn’t show an interest toward her.
“Can you walk now? I will take you home,” Shishio suddenly said.
“Ah!” Saki was surprised and subconsciously said, “No, no, I have already troubled you before and I don’t want to trouble you anymore.” However, when she said that, she lowered her head and felt regret since she still wanted to stay with him. She wanted to tell him to stay with her and asked him to walk her back, but when it came out of her mouth, it turned into a rejection which made her depressed.
Shishio had saved Saki during her plight moment so there was a sense of dependency that was planted on her heart and that was why she felt very sad and regretful at this moment. She was about to cry and really wanted the time to return since she knew if this continued, she might have a feeling that she wouldn’t be able to meet him anymore in the future.
“What are you talking about? How can I let you walk back alone after that situation?” Shishio shook his head and said, “I will take you home.”
Saki raised her head in an instant, and she saw him there, standing beside her as if protecting her from anything. “…Thank you..” She didn’t know what to say anymore and nodded shyly, feeling happy secretly.
“No problem, let’s go,” Shishio said with a light smile on his face.
Saki nodded and walked beside him, his tall figure gave her a sense of security and if this continued, she felt that she might feel addicted to it.
—
The two of them walked together in silence, but strangely enough, there was no awkwardness between them until Saki asked.
“Oga-kun.”
“What’s wrong, Kawasaki-san?” Shishio looked at Saki curiously.
“Don’t you feel that I am a bad girl for going out at night?” Saki asked.
“Why?”
Shishio looked at Saki with a strange expression and said, “I am sure that you have your own reason to come out late at night, and we have just met each other a few moments ago, so you don’t need to tell me what you’re going to do at night and I’m sure that you’re doing something important, even though I don’t know what it is.”
“…..”
Saki looked at Shishio for a while in surprise, then said, “…Thank you.” She smiled and somehow moved closer toward him.
Shishio didn’t change his expression and walked beside her by taking smaller steps so she wouldn’t be left behind.
The two walked for more than two minutes until they arrived at Saki’s house.
Shishio stood in front of a small wooden house and from the outside, it looked more dilapidated than Sakurasou. He could even see the rust on the fence and a crack on the wall of the house, but he didn’t say much about this matter.
However, Shishio didn’t expect that Saki’s house would be so close to Sakurasou. Even though the direction was different, it was only a few blocks away from Sakurasou.
Shishio then understood why Saki decided to choose that street to walk back before.
Shishio then glanced at the quiet Saki, who seemed to be hesitant of something, however, he felt normal since he could tell that this girl had a social clumsiness.
Shishio was right since Saki was confused, thinking about how to get along better with Shishio since she had no experience with the opposite gender besides her little brother so she stayed silent. She was too comfortable walking with him, so she didn’t realize that she had arrived in front of her house and she also realized that she hadn’t done anything which made her panic!
Saki was at a loss as to what to do and wondered how to ask for his contact info.
“Then Kawasaki-san since you have arrived at your home, then I should go back.”
Although this girl was cute, Shishio really didn’t have a plan to start a relationship with anyone during his high school time since he wanted to focus on his business and system first. He had received a lot of rewards, but he hadn’t accepted them so he thought, he was going to accept them once he returned back.
In truth, Shishio knew that he could get this girl instantly since he had saved her and from an ancient time, a damsel in distress was the best way to pick up a girl.
“That… thank you for tonight,” Saki said, although she said that, she felt regret and wanted to invite him inside. Her parents were often going out for work so there were only her siblings inside, but she didn’t need to worry too much since her little brother was already in his 3rd year of middle school so it shouldn’t be a problem to invite him inside, but with her personality, it was hard for her to say something like that.
Saki thought for a while and got an idea so in the end, with a blush on her face, she decided to ask for his contact info directly.
“Um, I really don’t know how to thank you, can you… can we exchange our contact info?”
Saki took out her mobile phone and felt very nervous, her body was trembling and she could feel that her body was very hot at this moment, even though it was quite chilly outside.
“Sure.” Shishio nodded and was about to take his mobile phone but…
Saki was happy when she heard it, but Shishio’s movement made her a bit confused. “What’s wrong?”
“Sorry, I forgot to bring my mobile phone,” Shishio said with a sorry expression.
“…”
Saki felt that the world was over at that moment.
Looking at Saki’s expression, Shishio felt that he wanted to hit himself, he felt that he was looking at an abandoned puppy which made his heart very guilty. He then thought for a bit and remembered something. Even though he didn’t want to take it out, he still decided to give it to Saki.
“I didn’t bring my mobile phone, but you can have my name card,” Shishio said and felt a bit embarrassed when he took out the name card of the previous Shishio Oga from his wallet since he felt that it was a bit too exaggerated, but even if it was a bit exaggerated, he had to admit that this name card was very cool.
Saki was a bit surprised and didn’t expect that Shishio would already be working since she thought that he was either in high school or college.
“Burning Holding Investment? Shishio Oga?”
Saki saw the pure black name card with a flame design on the edge, she could see the name, contact info, and the name of his company. She blinked her eyes and wondered whether Shishio was a member of the yakuza group or something, but when she thought about his threat on the group of men that almost violated her, his ability at fighting, and the fact that he knew the “Merchant of Death” before, she didn’t feel that much surprised.
‘Who is he?’ Saki became even more curious, wondering who he was, but…
“Then I will go back now.” Shishio didn’t stay any longer since he knew that it was already very late.
“Ah! Yes!”
Saki nodded and waved her hand, staring at Shishio’s back that slowly disappeared. She then looked at his name card again and didn’t care much even if he was a yakuza. She then showed a beautiful smile and entered her house, and looked at the name card that had been given to her, and felt glad that she would be able to meet him again in the future.
