Chapter 43 - Tobio Vs Annabeth And Return To Camp.

After they had gotten their cease fire they returned to Grigori the next day was the day where Annabeth would fight Tobio. She had done her research about the past wielders of the booster gear and knew the power and limitations of it. However Tobio was a different story as he still had left over abilities of Canis Lycaon and it made him a threat.

They were in an open field while Annabeth was holding a golden hunting knife in her right and a white and black sword in her left. It is a crude prototype of the Blazer Shining that in heaven got Azazel made fun of for being a geek. By using Kurayami control over shadows and his fallen angel use of holy power it was made possible. Kurayami could now make holy devil swords as a result.

Annabeth was chosen as the first user as she is one of the strongest demigods they have and her progress in magic is very high. Most humans are incapable or using fallen angel magic, but she could. She looked over as she was friends with Kurayami. “Hey, Kurayami. You said this was an artificial sacred gear right?” Kurayami nodded. “That is Azazel’s first idea, when he was in heaven he was made fun of for it..” Annabeth swung the sword and frowned. “Why? Seems like a great idea and useful.” Kurayami sat down to explain.

“Well this was before he fell, so it was thousands of years ago. Back then light and darkness were seen as impossible to mix, but after the death of God and the four great Satant it was made possible. Plus Azazel thinks that the whole Balance Breaker is a bug in the Heaven System.” She nodded and Azazel walked in with Tobio and walked up to her.

“How is it?” She held the sword in her hands and nodded. “It’s great.” Azazel sighed in relief and he seemed more hopeful about this one. Kurayami patted him on the back. “Guess even you got bullied.” Azazel fronwed. “I did not.” Kurayami raised his hands. “Shehemazai told me how you were made fun of for this.” Azazel sat down and nodded. “I will prove those assholes wrong.”

Tobio sat next to Kurayami and Annabeth and looked over. “So where are the girls.” Kurayami looked over. “They all were forced by mother to go to a spa day with her. You should have seen how Esdeath was dragged away kicking and screaming, saying she was a warrior not a princess.” Tobio laughed as Shuri was great. “What about Dante?” Annabeth was interested. “Who is Dante?” Kurayami smiled. “My brother, I went with a different name.”

Annabeth liked kids, but she never got to be around them as her dad didn’t like her, or so she says. Clarise walked over while eating a cheeseburger and the smell made Kurayami sick to his stomach. He was no fussy eater, but he hated cheese. “So you fighting Tobio or what?” Annabeth nodded. “Yeah, I bet you are scared to fight him now.” Tick marks appeared on Clarises forehead. “Keep talking.” Ares clapped and got attention.

“Let’s get this over with, I got permission to go back to America to visit my mistress.” Kurayami was interested. “Mortal or goddess.” Ares grinned. “Goddess, now let’s get this over with.” Tobio and Annabeth stood apart while Tobio’s red, black gauntlet began to count down. Clarrise looked over. “What are her chances?” Kurayami thought about it. “6 to 10. 6 in Tobio’s favor.” Clarise, while not afraid, felt it was too fast.

“It has only been a month.” Kurayami smiled. “Talent and sacred gears make the difference. You will need to train even more to unlock more of your bloodline. Tobio held his gauntlet out. “Balance Breaker, Scale Mail.” He was shrouded in fire and a red, black armor formed around his body. Annebeth swung her sword and got into a fighting stance. Ares formed a sword and threw it in the air.

Tobio and Annabeth watched that sword and when it hit the ground Tobio moved at a speed faster than the eye could see, but Annabeth covered her body in light magic as in her time at Grigori she became a great mage. She charged out and avoided the first swing of Tobio’s scythe, but she knew she had to finish this. “Boost, Boost,Boost.” Tobio charged and swung his scythe down intending to finish this.

She raised Blazer Shining and parried the blow while sliding between his legs. She slashed behind his knees cutting the armor. Tobio raised his left hand and sent out spears of light boosted in power. She had her mind runnin like a supercomputer finding any weakness in Tobio’s stance. That was the difference as even if Tobio was stronger his overall skill still needed time.

Blazer Shining began to shroud her in darkness while the light aspect of it boosted her already faster speed and she charged out to try to go for Tobio’s head. Most of the armor was extremely durable, but blunt force trauma would still affect him. Tobio rushed out and threw his scythe at her and she bent at a limbo stance, and Tobio took that chance and charged out. When she got up she had a spear of light on her neck. However, Blazer Shining had pierced Tobio’s gut armor.

Kurayami clapped as he was impressed. “Tobio, if you had kept moving your gut would have been pierced and Annabeth, if Tobio wanted you would be dead.” Annabeth sighed and pulled out the sword. Azazel smiled and took it from her hands. “Thank’s, I got quite a bit of data. Annabeth you thought of learning Sengutsu.” Annabeth nodded. “I thought about it, but demigods all have a fatal flaw that might be trouble.”

Kurayami decided to help. “Well maybe I can help you in another way.” Annebeth looked over. “How?” Kurayami walked over and put his hand on her head. She felt it was weird, but she saw how he closed his eyes to focus and decided to see what he was doing. Kurayami focused on her lifeforce and felt it was many times higher than a mortal or normal fallen. It just needed a small push. He used his own control over life force to cause her lifeforce to act like a current.

He had it go through her entire body and she felt she was heatin up literally as she was turning red, but it was not bad. It was more like there was something she was missing and Kurayami gave it the final push. She was suddenly covered in a light golden touki and she felt her strength magnified. “Seems you were close to it already.” Tobio sighed. “Kuroka said I have no hope of learning sengutsu.”

Not everyone can learn it and even Vali could’t. Kurayami looked over. “Hey Azazel, where the hell is Vali? I haven’t seen him in forever.” Azazel nodded. “I sent him over to Mephisto. I heard that old man is coming to Japan to check on Lavinia.” Kurayami sighed. “Let me guess, I will be his guide?” Azazel gave a thumbs up. “Of course.” Annabeth suddenly started to shadow box and Clarise was interested. Ares scoffed. “You got no hope.”

Clarise felt her hope stepped on as Annabeth excelled as magic, light magic, fire, magic, wind and she began to learn a bit of barriers. Anaabeth suddenly hugged Kurayami and he was surprised. “Thank you.” He looked at her and he realized that she was kind of cute. “No problem. Just train even harder as a demigod you will live for about 500 years, maybe longer.”

Ares scoffed. “No demigod ever makes it that far.” Kurayami flipped him off. “Ignore him, you are probably the first demigod who left their own gods and are using different branches of power. What you need to know is that there are many types of magic and I plan to learn many of them. Right Shin.” The dog barked in agreement. She suddenly remembered something. “Oh yeah, can I go back to the camp?” Azazel felt it was odd.

“Sure, but can I know why?” She nodded. “Remember Percy? I almost forgot about him, but he sent me an Iris message saying that Thalia’s tree was poisoned. Said he went on a quest with his brother, some other demigods and healed the tree. Apparently my friend Thallia is back.” Azazel nodded. “I don’t mind. See if you can’t recruit her.” Annabeth fronwed. “Really.”

Azazel smiled and shrugged. “Hey, talent is talent. Just wait a few hours while I do some upgrades on this.” Annabeth was confused. “Are you letting me keep it?” Azazel nodded. “I make them so they are used, not kept on a wall.” Azazel patted Kurayami on the back. “Hey, are you forgetting something?” Kurayami sighed and nodded. “Take this.””

Kurayami focused on his shadow and created a blade with both cursed and holy in it. “Keep this if you need it, however remember that it destroys souls, so don’t go stabbing mortals as it will kill them.” Annabeth took it and felt the blade was ominous yet she liked it. “Thanks.” Ares scoffed. “Im leaving. I will be back by the end of the week.” Azazel waved.

“Bye.” Ares vanished in a column of fire and Clarise left. “He didn’t even say goodbye.” She looked a little sad as even though she spent all this time with him he wasn’t any nicer to her. She left while Tobio looked at her. “Wow, is she not kind of pitiful?” Kurayami nodded. “I will not be that kind of father, I swear.” Tobio looked over. “You thinking of kids?”

Kurayami nodded. “When I turned 16 I promised Kuroka to get her pregnant. She is at that age and I don’t see the issue with being a young father as I will pretty much live forever.” Annabeth broke out laughing. “You, a father. I see you being an overprotective dad.” He smiled. “Maybe I will be.” He left with Shin and just spent some time with his pets.

He suddenly received a magic call and knew it was Gabriel. He picked up and it became a big face to face magic call. “Hey, Kurayami. Where is Castiel?” He sighed. “You know it has only been a day right?” She frowned. “A day to much.” He picked up the cub and she noticed his stripes were even thicker and blacker. “He is changing?” He nodded. “My familiars get darker and stronger.”

She smiled and behind her was a huge 6 meter tall tiger that looked like a bigger version of Castiel and when it saw the cub its face twisted in a look of disinterest. It left and Gabriel fronwed. “I don’t get why she doesn’t like Castiel. He is her cub and wouldn’t a mother love their children unconditionally.” He nodded. “You would be surprised at what humans can do.” Gabriel tilted her head confused. “What?”

Kurayami began to sweat bullets. “Don’t worry about it. I got to go.” She waved goodbye and he sighed. “Why did you have to make her so innocent God?” A few hours later it was time and Annabeth saw how Blazer Shining turned into a hair pin. While the sword Kurayami turned into a black bracelet. Azazel looked at her and she knew the teleport spell.

“So Annabeth, do you think you can make it their on your own?” She sighed and shook her head. “Too soon.” Kurayami nodded. “Well I will take you. You can stay for a month, but as you are a student here you have to return at the end of the month. You can go back when you want.” She nodded. “That’s fine. This place has too much knowledge to give up here for that long.”

Kurayami opened his unique magic circle that looked like a black dog with blades in it’s mouth. She teleported to camp half blood and when he and Annabeth looked around it seemed the camp was in a high state. As she looked around it made her smile. “Kind of nostalgic.” Kurayami nodded. “Well you did stay for 6 years.” She looked down and he patted her on the back.

“Let’s go see Chiron and Mr. D ” She nodded and when they found them they were playing cards and when Chiron saw Annabeth and Kurayami he got up and galloped to them. “Lass, I was worried i would never see you again.” She nodded. “I came back as I heard Thallia was back.” Chiron frowed. “Ay, she is.” Kurayami was interested. “Not her boy, she is a daughter of Zues and he would not take kindly to his daughter being poached.”

He shrugged. “How you been Mr. D.” He gave a big smile. “Thanks to you peachy. It is quite and peaceful with less demigods and I can relax more. Come to take more. I got a whole list.” Chiron snatched it from his hands and threw it in the fire. Dionysus fronwed. “Fine. Anyway how is old Azrael?” Kurayami nodded. “Fine.” Dionysus nodded.

“Well go find Peter Johnson and ask from him.” Annabeth and Kurayami went to go find Percy and Thalia as he was interested in what a daughter of Zues could do.
