Chapter 86 - Vritra Soul Is Complete.

When Kurayami, Raynare, and Ladon appeared in Washington D.C Vritra felt his last soul fragment. To him, missing parts of his soul was not pleasant and once he was complete, Raynare might even surpass his old level. He knew that as she had even inherited the abilities of Azrael who was stronger than him even in his prime.

Vritra appeared around Raynare and they all looked at him for directions. As most humans could not see the supernatural there was no issue with that and as It was his soul and as such there would be no one better to find it than him.

His excitement was clear to see, but he could not celebrate just yet. Slow and steady wins the race and in this case, makes sense.

“My last soul fragment is not far from here. Just 3 miles from here. From what I knew of the modern world it is in the C.I.A headquarters.”

Ladon looked around and he raised his eyebrow from what he felt.

“If you aren’t blind master, I bet you felt all those sacred gear holders in this city. Seems the American government is not a fool to them. A country as strong as this should not be fools to sacred gears and the supernatural.”

Kurayami looked around as he also noticed that very thing.

“Well, America has always been a land of development. If you forget that the Greek Gods are the real power behind the west. Ain’t that right Brother-In-Law.”

Next to Kurayami on a bench was a homeless man reading a newspaper and yet the man smiled and stood up. In a quick moment, he became his usual handsome look of a young man with pitch-black hair like Zeus and orange eyes.

“Well, I knew you would have noticed me, brother-in-law, how is my sister?”

Kurayami extended his hand and both men shook hands.

“She is coming back to America soon to check up on her hunters. I don’t think she even thought of you though. She even told me she hopes to not run into you.”

Apollon felt that knives went through his heart and when he looked at Ladon he frowned.

“I trust you Kurayami, but do you think it is a good idea to let Ladon on the loose like this? If you don’t remember you nearly died the last time you fought him.”

Kurayami looked Ladon and nodded.

“I ordered him not to cause trouble, as long as he is with me he won’t disobey. Although he really wants to kill you right now to get back at Zeus for trapping him to that tree.”

That just made Apollon laugh.

“As the heir to the throne, I would look bad if I could not even take on Ladon. How much stronger are you now Ladon than the last time Kurayami left you near death?”

Ladon might be the same crazy dragon, but he was now more of a controlled madman.

“Strong enough to bury Zeus in venom. My new barriers are nothing to scoff at. Want to give them a try pup.”

His eyes glowed purple and Apolon felt he was being looked at from multiple places from Ladon and yet Ladon stopped. He was told not to cause trouble and he would do just that. Apollon squinted his eyes and he placed to start training again.

Gods rarely trained and yet he felt if he did nothing he would never beat Ladon. Ladon was not even the strongest evil dragon, and he was already this strong.

Raynare and Vritra looked at Apollon and felt that as a god he was quite a powerhouse. He had to be as he was the next King of Gods after Zeus. However, seeing how different he was from Artemis was not surprising as she often complained about him.

Raynare was not one to fear even a god as she believed in Vritra’s power to fight Indra even if he lost. It was a memory she always went over as she wanted to defeat Indra to prove herself stronger than Vritra.

“Your Artemis older brother, she did say you look like your father. However, she also complained that you caused her nothing but trouble.”

Apollon sighed. “I am not actually her older brother, she was born first. Just that the twin born first is called the youngest, but I was trying to annoy her as well. Well, let’s hope marriage will fix her right up.”

Kurayami broke out laughing and started to walk towards the place Vritra said. As Apollon was the god of prophecies he could tell why they were here. He would not even try to stop them as he did not see anything wrong with it.

“The man you’re looking for is named Jayden Hyde, C.I.A agent, and less than a likable person. If you had not guessed the American Government has a supernatural decision to deal with supernatural threats. They even have a Loginous.”

When he heard that Kurayami looked at him with interest.

“You just allow them to do that? Anyway, which is it, is the wielder here?”

That made Apollon shake his head.

“It’s a new one named Unknown Tyrant. It lets the user named Magnus Rose control the electronic device. He is not here, but in London for reasons. As for your questions why we allow it is that humans need to grow on their own. Also, after your done come to Mount Olympus, also my father wants to talk to you about my sister’s wedding.”

Kurayami nodded. “Fine, I was going to go over to annoy him, but this is more important.”

Apollon broke out laughing as Kurayami really did not fear anyone. Well knowing how strong he was why would he.

“Well, that was all. I will be seeing you soon.”

Both of them fist-bumped and in bright light, he was gone. Raynare looked where he was and smiled as she felt he might be a good friend for Kurayami.

“He seems to care about Artemis and he will be a good friend to you. You need more male friends you know. You hang around us girls all the time and barely have any guys to hang out with.”

That made Kurayami nod as he really only had a few guys he considered friends. Ares was one, Azazel, maybe could Azrael be his friend, Tobio maybe. He just realized that he did not have many guy friends.

“Well let’s go get it shall we. Let’s just kill our target shall we.”

Raynare nodded and they sped up to get the last shard and they arrived at the C.I.A headquarters. When Kurayami saw it he did not want to sneak in and he instead set up a bounded field around the whole place to stop anyone from entering or leaving.

He approached the big metal gate while a guard saw him.

“This is Government Property. Turn back or you will be sho-”

He did not even get to finish when Ladon threw a clump of poison at him and melted him into goop. Kurayami looked at him with squinted eyes and Ladon shrugged.

Kurayami went up to the metal gate and grabbed it even though it was electric and ripped it off the handles. It weighed over a thousand pounds, but it was nothing to him and he threw it like a rock at the building. When it crashed into it tore through it like tofu.

Raynare smiled. “You get mad at Ladon when you are worse than him. Let’s go get it as soon as possible.”

Kurayami sighed. “Let’s go.”

(POV Change)

Today was a normal day for Jayden in his office. He focused on his body and the strange presence in his heart, he was a member of the supernatural division of the C.I.A and he was left behind to guard the place with the rest went out on a mission.

He sighed as he wished he could have gone out, but he was stuck at guard duty, but he also worried as he had been getting nightmares of a Black haired girl with a scythe ripping out his heart killing him.

It was his greatest fear and these nightmares had not stoped for over 5 years. He did not know if it was just him being paranoid or what, but he felt it would happen one day.

Jayden suddenly felt his right arm trembled as the soul shard of Vritra felt the rest of its soul near. Jayden did not have sacred gear. This last soul shard did not have any new powers as Raynare had all of them. It was just an empty soul, but just that was Jayden’s greater power than any human.

He could use a few of Vritra’s abilities to a very weak degree, but just that made his status grow in the division. A man rushed into his office and he looked panicked.

“Sir Jayden, there are three people attacking the facility and a strange dog. Magical in nature.”

‘This has never happened, we have taken out a few magical creatures, but they never attacked us directly. He felt his heartbeat like crazy and he hoped he was wrong. It was impossible for his silly dream to be real.

“What, have you sent out the guards?”

“Yes, we even sent out the sacred gear users to stop them.”

Jayden was in deep thought as the members who stayed behind were not the strongest and he hoped that Magnus had been here. If he was here he should have been able to stop this.”

“I will head out myself. Do the cameras work?”

“Negative.”

He sighed and rushed out to where the attacked were currently in the facility. The closer he got to Raynare the more he felt his heart beat faster and he was shaking in terror. However, he bit his tongue and went forward until he stopped at the men behind a barricade shooting with automatic rifles.

He looked at one man and need to know. “Status report.”

“Bad news sir, these four seem to be bulletproof. The bullets just bounce off and even our grenades don’t do shi-” Before he could finish a black spear of light ran into his chest and he turned to dust.

Raynare scythe ignited in black flames and she swung the weapon and blasted the barricade like it was a sandcastle and she went forward as she felt the last part of her partner’s soul.

She felt the desire for it from Vritra and she could understand as it was rightfully theirs. As for Jayden, he came face to face with Raynare who had her scythe on her shoulder and when she saw him she smiled.

That smile made him nearly piss himself as she looked just like his nightmares. He felt his heart become tense and he could not feel any power coming from it into his body. He understood that it was leading her to him.

“There you are sorry about this, but that soul shard is mine.”

Jayden collapsed to the ground and tried to run away in terror but before he could even move he felt excruciating pain and looked at his right leg that was gone from the knee down. He was going to beg her to let him go, but she stepped on his chest.

She did not control her power and his ribs cracked as she was one of the strongest in Grigori and had the potential to get in the top ten herself by just relying on her lineage not counting her sacred gear powers.”

“Sorry about this, but you were just born with the wrong power as it belongs to us.”

Jayden’s eyes went wide as she thrust her hand into his chest and ripped out his heart. The last thing Jayden saw was Vritra coiling around the heart and eating it. The soul was sealed in the heart and once Vritra ate it Raynare felt her body shake from the power she felt.

The power she was feeling from Vritra was now complete. Before it felt like it was clogged, but that was gone. Vritra himself felt the feeling of emptiness of having an incomplete soul was gone. On Raynare appeared all the sacred gears of Vritra.

Both of her eyes turned black, on her arms a pair of gauntlets appeared, and on her legs a pair of boots, a gem appeared around her neck like a neckless and she felt her heartbeat like crazy until she took a deep breath.

“Balance Breaker, The Evenloper’s Judgment. This was the complete Balance Breaker and now she just needed to complete her Abyss Side balance breaker and she would be one of the strongest of the next generation.

An entire pitch-black armor formed from the flames that were going wild as they were affected by the Flame Application Gem. Kurayami made a barrier of holy flames and he had to say that Raynare might be the strongest among the girls.

Esdeath would not be happy that her rival surpassed her, but that crazy battle maniac would also be happy about it. Kurayami himself wanted to have a spar with Raynare to know how strong she was now.

Raynare armor disappeared and she smiled as she felt the power from Vritra was stronger than anything she had ever felt. As for Vritra, he was frozen from the feeling of having his soul complete.

After being incomplete and being back to complete it was a good feeling he wanted to enjoy. He would still have a few memory issues as having your soul split is never a safe thing.

Kurayami looked at Vritra who now looked a whole lot more menacing and complete.

“Vritra, how much of your original power do you think you have access to?”

Vritra looked at him and thought about it. His soul was damaged and God still had seals on all sacred gears.

“About 80%, my soul was damaged and it might never recover to the peak. However, when Raynare manages to combine her power from Azrael and mine I should surpass my old peak of power.”

Kurayami nodded.

“Well, I think we are done here. Let’s go to Mount Olympus.”

Ladon looked at him oddly. “You taking me to Olympus? You know I might go mad if I go there in my rage.”

“No.”

Kurayami put him back in the familiar space and wiped the memories of everyone here. He and Raynare left from D.C to New York in front of the Empire State Building. Time to visit his godly-in-laws.
