As Kurayami was dealing with the phantom pain caused by Ophis’s attack it did allow him to see that it was worth it. He was deep in thought as he was already planning for any future events he may be caught up in.
He did not trust the goddess who brought him here and he did not know what she could want with him. As he was walking along while Ophis floated next to him looking at the recreated seals he had on him. The sheer number left nearly no part of him free.
However, it was what he needed as any training would be near impossible with his new dragon body, and when it came to pure strength it was one of his greatest traits, but now it was even better than before. He might even be able to fight with only his fists and win against most foes which made him a little sad.
A battle junkie needed his fix and he did not even have that anymore. Good thing he knew a few beings who might be able to do just that.
“Ophis, what are my chances against the Great Red right now?”
She looked at him and shook her head. “No chance.”
He frowned at that as he expected it, but no hesitation. “Wow, how strong is that guy for me to have no chance?”
“Very.”
He sighed and he looked at the distance when he saw Raynare and Esdeath flying together. To get their attention he blasted a stream of purple fire at the sky so when they noticed it they went toward him.
When Raynare saw how he was in his shorts and shirtless along with having so many seals that made his aura seem totally suppressed she felt it was a good way to train. She also looked at the destruction and the fact that he was still steaming made her realize that Ophis attacked him. She smiled and teased him.
“So did you piss her off, break up with Ophis, or are you a masochist?”
When Ophis heard that she knew what break up meant and she did not want that. She looked at Kurayami with an expressionless look, but her eyes looked a little panicked. He never saw her so panicked, but he shook his head.
“No, no, I did not break up with anyone. Don’t worry about it Ophis, what happened was that I asked her to attack me to try out my new dragon body. Also, I am no masochist.”
Esdeath raised an eyebrow as she looked at the long ditch that looked like it was the result of a meter.
“I can’t believe you are alive. Although Ophis did tell us you were going to become a part dragon at least, what did your dragon body do for you.”
Kurayami created a black knife and stabbed it in his chest. Seeing that both of them panicked.
“YOU IDIOT!”
Raynare yelled at him and pulled out her phoenix tears to heal him, but Kurayami just pulled out the knife and she saw how no blood was coming out. The wound closed faster than she expected and Kurayami was just fine. He just grinned and patted the place where the wound was.
“It gave me His power to heal from nearly anything. Even if my head is cut off I will just heal it. Cool right.”
Esdeath facepalmed and glared at him.
“Kurayami. Next time you decide to show us you can at least tell us.”
Ophis nodded. “Don’t stab yourself, masochist.”
He sighed. “Now that we are together let’s just explore. I already talked to Tartarus, apparently, the tormenting dreams we are feeling are not his work. Just the work of the realm. Does not make me want to kill him any less though.”
Esdeath and Raynare both nodded as the visions they were seeing were quite terrible. Even someone like Kurayami was feeling like he would have succumbed if it was the old him.
However for now he would have to deal with them. Raynare nodded as she remembered the feeling of being loathed by the memory of her mother. That was one of the worst visions she could have seen. Raynare looked around as she had not seen her grandfather.
“Oh Kurayami, have you seen my grandfather? I have not seen him”
“No, I have not seen him since he arrived here. Ophis can you find him?”
She looked up and spread her senses for Azrael. When she found him he was meditating shirtless in one of the many acid lakes just like Kurayami as he was training his resilience as he was a warrior so he fought close and personal.
Grandfather like Grandson-in-law. Sometimes people wondered why Kurayami was not Azrael’s real son as they were both so similar.
“Training.”
Raynare sighed. “Well let’s not bother him. He has his training and so do we. Now that I think about it I am in the mood for a spar with you Kurayami. Let’s see how strong you and I have become. Go all out, no seals.”
Kurayami grinned. “You sure you can handle it. Last I checked I was still a super fallen angel unlike you.”
She had a small smile on her face. “Try me.”
He shrugged and got rid of all the seals on his body, but Rebellion was still sleeping which reminded him, he had not imbued the weapon with his new aura and he began now. A black and purple aura covered the weapon and it began to devour it.
She was like a bottomless black hole, but she suddenly stopped eating and began to shake as she would burst. Her blade changed color to dark violet. The overall design was the same, but the sheer aura coming from her was enough to kill weak mortals.
As for Raynare and Esdeath, they both knew that Rebellion was a special weapon as it seemed that the stronger that Kurayami got the stronger she got. However, Kurayami was beyond normal standards, two Longinus, the support of Ophis, a superior bloodline, on top of his skill alone.
However both Esdeath and Raynare were not just two random girls, they were combative, and had an urge to surpass their lover. Both girls looked at each other and drew their weapons. The scythe and Rapier began to get nervous, but they would give their all to help their masters in this.
From behind them were the silhouettes of their sacred gears, Vritra and Algor who looked like a humanoid demon covered in ice. Unlike Vritra who was completely loyal and a partner to Raynare, he was trying to take over Esdeath’s body but failing.
Unlucky for him he had gotten the wrong host as he was losing more and more of his own power as she was usurping control from him. In just a few years the mighty Algor would be nothing more than a distant memory.
“Balance Breaker, Envelopers Judgement.”
“Subspecies Balance Breaker, Tundra Mail.”
Unlike her usual balance breaker Mahaptdama, her new subspecies made created her a suit of armor made from Algors magic, which enraged Algor. The fact that for the first time someone had managed to steal from him was making him panic.
However, Esdeath was undisturbed while the area was not right for it caused a huge blizzard that was covering the entire area in snow and ice while Raynare created a massive field of black fire. Unlike when they were kids their powers did not clash as they had been fighting together since they were kids.
As for Raynare, her Balance Breaker was like usual, but this time a large skull was on the chest plate showing that her death magic was beginning to become her own and not a copy of her grandfather. She was close to making it her own in a manner of time.
Kurayami just smiled and brandished the Rebellion and he began to speak to her.
‘So how is the new power, the Rebellion?’
‘Master, it is wonderful. I feel so full of power and it is all yours to command. Although I may finally have a surprise for you.’
‘Save it for later. Now time to fight.
He took a deep breath and exhaled.
“Shin, Incinerate get ready.”
The dog barked and it was time for him to go all out as they did ask for it. The stronger Kurayami got the more he understood the will inside the Incinerate Anthem. However, he finally got the inspiration for his own fusion balance breaker.”
He took a deep breath while his eyes glowed black and purple in an eerie glow while the Infinite Signs were spinning in a loop. He created his own chant and that was the sone that came to mind right now.
“I am the shadow that burns and the fire that usurps. I laugh at the dead God that is no more, I am one with the infinite that will devour the dream, my fire will burn the world to cinders, my shadow devours the light, I reveal in the slaughter of mortals and principles, I am lightning and fire given form. EX Abyss Side.”
The manifestation of all that Kurayami was was finally unleashed. The cross that hung around Shin’s neck fell off along with a black and violent aura radiating off Shin and his master.
The new one was pitch black bipedal dog or wolf-like armor on top of the fact that it looked to be made of fire. The sheer aura was causing the ground and wind to shake. Behind the armor were 9 coiling tails of metal and flames and the 16 armored feathered wings made both Raynare and Esdeath flinch.
The fire and Ice from Esdeath and Raynare seemed to be snuffed out and they felt that Kurayami had left them in the dust. However neither one was willing to just give up, so they brandished their weapons and got ready for the greatest fight of their lives.
Shin form was nearly impossible to make out as the sheer aura coming from his body was covering his surroundings in pure darkness. The sky was ruling with lighting. Kurayami took a step which resulted in ground cracking.
He roared and charged at the two girls and raised Rebellion in the air and swung it down on Esdeath, who just barely got out of the way. A giant purple slash-cut right through the place she was standing at before going forward for miles.
Esdeath was covered in a cold sweat as she knew he was not going to kill her, but if he had not gone easy on she would have been vaporized. However, she did not want to retreat and she stabbed out with her rapier while Raynare flew in the sky.
Both girls attacked, but their attackers were blocked by the coiling tails. They both were wrapped up and thrown across the field where they dragged for hundreds of meters, but at this point, both of them realized what a monster Kurayami was.
Raynare looked at her chest plate and noticed that it was burned, which should not have been possible.
‘Vritra, repair the armor.’
‘I would like to Raynare, but those flames are not as simple as mere holy fire anymore. It seemed to be a type of void-related fire. It is created by the Infinite and his fire powers.’
‘Damn it Kurayami, how strong are you really?’
“Hey Esdeath, how is the damage?”
She looked at her rival and noticed that a large chunk of her brand new armor that would have let Esdeath fight even against gods was melted or cracked. The spirit of Algor looked at that in terror. It was his power that was damaged quite easily.
“What do you think? We would have died in that exchange if Kurayami wanted.”
Kurayami placed his left hand on the ground which began to melt and they noticed the tails and the wings flexing and they realized he was about to charge again. Raynare and Esdeath both got ready and when it happened they just barely saw it happen.
Kurayami used the tails and wings to launch himself forward with Rebellion raised above his head and both Raynare and Esdeath gambled on an experimental move they had thought of before.
Both girls used most of their mana and skills to use this and they combined Absorption line, Delete Field, Shadow Prison, and Mahapadma to try to slow him down, but when the blue-black aura trapped Kurayami, it lasted less than a split of a second and he charges through it and both girls felt like they saw death in front of them.
A massive shock wave of air and heat hit them, but lucky for them that was all. Kurayami coughed a small amount of blood and he dissipated his new armor. When it was gone they both saw the sheer amount of damage he had sustained.
Chunks of his body were gone and the right side of his face was reduced to a melted sludge. Of course, he was healing at a rapid speed and it would take less than a few minutes to heal, but seeing how dangerous his new power was to himself it was not without his dragon body.
Ophis looked at Shin who looked a little annoyed that he put on a show and did not even get to fight. He barked up a storm at Kurayami while the Cross returned to his neck.
“Sorry Shin, I got too excited. Cough.”
Ophis walked up to Kurayami and hugged him from behind as he was about to collapse. Raynare and Esdeath got rid of their armors and their weapons and they finally saw that Kurayami was a monster beyond reason.
However, the fire behind their eyes was just ignited; they would use his new form to their advantage. The feeling of being so close to death made both of them feel enlightened to new abilities they needed to try.
Both of them helped him up and Esdeath smiled. “How was your new form?”
Kurayami’s face was squirming and he explained. “Strong, I feel like I am finally close to mastering my own power. I managed to create two new flames in one go, Void fire, and Chrono Fire. They are self-explanatory.”
Raynare rolled her eyes. “One burns everything till the void and the other must have something to do with time. Goddammit even if he is dead, God Dammit.”
She punched in on his injured ribs and he coughed as his organs were rattled.
Esdeath nodded. “Well we got time, so you better help us train. You better suck it up and use that form as much as possible. It will be perfect for our training.”
He sighed as they were not even worried about him. “Fine.”
In no time at all, he was all good again and now it was time for him to help these two battle junkies to get stronger.
