Long Live Summons Novel

Chapter 950

Chapter 950: Inspiration and Enlightenment

Yue Yang had seen many beauties.

Some were gentle like water, some were charming and cute; some were hot and sexy whereas some were charming and affectionate; there were also some who were deadly and enchanting, and some acted as cool as a snow queen.

There were almost no identical beauties in the world as every woman had her own unique personality.

[T/L Note: Facts right there!]

Of course, apart from their individualities, each beauty would have many similarities.

For example, their beautiful appearances.

However, Yue Yang had set his sights on such a different beauty like the Liberty Queen.

The woman who was detained in the prison cart by the Heaven Rankers was not the most beautiful woman Yue Yang had ever seen. On the contrary, her appearance was not as good as Yue Yang imagined, but this Queen was definitely the most divine, tolerant and kind-hearted woman that Yue Yang had ever seen. Although she was the Liberty Queen, she did not have the appearance like any other queen in the world. She resembled the likes of an ordinarily poor girl as she walked in tattered clothes. Even her tattered fabrics that could barely cover her frame were not spotlessly clean as they were more or less stained by spots of dust and dried blood.

The way she was dressed was practically equivalent to those starving citizens flocking on the roads of the streets, waiting for their downfall.

However, none of this hindered her beauty.

It also didn’t do anything to hinder Yue Yang’s surprisement towards her!

Even as she was in the prison cart, she smiled as if she wasn’t being taken to prison but instead, into a castle that vowed to protect her.

That sort of smile was not a forced smile, it was an arc formed by the pure kindness and benevolence of one’s soul.

That kind of smile could exude a type of maternity’s unique gentleness, like the bright moon in the sky.

That kind of smile that could only be completely exuded from the heart. Like a clear spring in the forest, it was capable of washing away the anger in the hearts of people at a glance. When she nodded slightly to the hungry people who were kneeling on both sides of the street, she reassured them with a smile. Yue Yang suddenly felt that this was a powerful force as it was absolutely impossible for it to be possessed by an ordinary Heaven Ranker. It had to be a powerhouse above the level of an Innate Supreme who possessed an immovable will to hold onto such a powerful force of belief.

“Don’t cry; be it hunger or pain, I will definitely help to make it go away. No matter the situation, don’t give up. Hold onto hope, because there will always be hope!”

“I’m fine, you don’t have to worry.”

“Live well!”

The words of the Liberty Queen were not very passionate and there was no frenzied agitation either.

It was just her very bland way of talking, as if telling a fact or giving advice to her relatives at home. However, even Yue Yang, a powerful being who had reached the realm of Innate Supremacy and had an unshakable sense of belief in himself, did not feel that she was wrong after listening to her words. It was as if she seemed to have no psychological resistance to this ‘ridiculous persistence and belief’.

If it was anyone else, Yue Yang would definitely sneer when he heard such comforting words spewed out of their mouths.

By doing nothing, will there really be hope?

Lying around waiting for their impending deaths would bring them hope?

However, when the Liberty Queen said this, Yue Yang surprisingly found that he had no intention of refuting it at all.

The reason was because what the Liberty Queen said seemed to be right… What was it that could make his immovable will not resist the irony of the statement? Her words wielded the power that could rival the will of God! Actually, it might even be beyond the general will of the Gods as even Yue Yang could not resist but acknowledge her words.

Yue Yang discovered unexpectedly that although the Liberty Queen’s eyes were bright, they had no visual focus.

Which meant that she was actually a blind girl!

The Liberty Queen, who wasn’t able to see anything in the world, used a form of insight to watch the world.

When she smiled, there was a unique kind of tenderness and tolerance which emerged in her bright eyes that bore no focus at all. She also had an indescribable tenderness to her face which directly touched the hearts of others, even affecting Yue Yang’s own heart that he usually closed off so often.

In front of this Liberty Queen, even a Heaven Ranked powerhouse would be humbled.

It wasn’t because she was strong, but it was due to her tenderness and kindness that sympathised with all beings.

A woman like her was destined to be respected by the world even if she was locked in a prison cart, even if she wore ragged clothes and even if she had no deterrent power.

The Liberty Queen’s hands were two flawless and fair porcelain arms.. However, her legs no longer existed— in other words, the parts below her lower abdomen have disappeared. Her lower body, Yue Yang had heard before, had been sacrificed in order to eliminate the diseases and curses of the devout and hungry people.

Even her body was not completely flesh and blood.

She was basically a half-flesh and half-energy entity at this point. If it weren’t for an unknown Divine power that kept her alive, the Liberty Queen would have died long ago. And this kind of Divine power was the same kind that Yue Yang extracted from the Bull Brothers. In other words, the Bull Brothers’ lives were actually saved by the Liberty Queen, not by a certain god.

How could a free queen who was not even a Heaven Ranker use Divine power?

Yue Yang felt very confused.

“Really? Have many people been cursed? I understand,” The Liberty Queen nodded after listening to this. Without her visual focus, she even ‘looked around’ at the people around her, a special habit she still retained. Yue Yang could immediately judge that this Liberty Queen’s blindness was not by birth, but for some reason, perhaps in order to save the lives of some people, the eyesight of hers was sacrificed forever. The Liberty Queen made a condition, “As long as the residents of Green Willow City can have a full meal, then I am willing to lift this curse for everyone. However, I don’t understand why it must be moved to the Central Island of Zhi Feng… Maybe, this curse is a revenge curse that needed a type of special resolution.”

“Anyway, please come with us to Central Island. We are all fine, but there were some very important guests from the Upper Realm who came to congratulate us and were cursed by mistake. But all this is really the fault of Zhi Feng,” Country Lord Zhi Feng introduced Yue Yang, the Young Master Titan, as well as Sky Execution and others to the Liberty Queen.

Finally, the Country Lord of Zhi Feng guaranteed, “Whether the curse is successfully resolved or not, the hungry people in Green Willow City will receive their fair share of sanctuary.”

The Liberty Queen listened to him and a smile bloomed on her unblemished face.

A feeling of joy bloomed from the bottom of her heart.

She bowed deeply with both hands, “Goodness will always be rewarded; Country Lord Zhi Feng will definitely get the best return for today’s good deeds.”

Yue Yang was silent. He had seen countless beauties in his life. Not just his relatives, but there were also a bunch of women that he met who bore different and drastic personalities. Yue Yang had seen people like the Scarlet Concubine who was obsessed with her love towards the Scarlet Emperor, swearing to follow him all the way without a sense of self-appreciation; he also seen women like the beauty Zhu Guang who was doted on by thousands of people yet still possessed selfish thoughts. He had seen those like Fairy Qi Luo who fought with the enemy and finally perished together, remaining trapped in the same world; he had also even seen those like the Navagraha Empress who pursued extreme strength to the extent where she bet her fate on her entire clan… But he had never seen someone as selfless and kind like the Liberty Queen.

In the eyes of Yue Yang, the Liberty Queen, who was indescribable in words, was the biggest idiot!

But when he saw her with his own eyes, he couldn’t help but be moved by her!

What kind of power is it exactly that could make him feel this way?

She knew that the Country Lord Zhi Feng, Qinglang and the others were completely evil. They were prepared to burn her alive and never once sympathised with her as the binds of the ropes cut into her skin when she was confined in the prison cart. So why did she blindly agree to their conditions to resolve the curse with just one request from them?

If this Liberty Queen was his own girl, Yue Yang would definitely take off her pants and spank her.

This was too much of an idiotic behaviour to let go!

However, seeing the broken body and the gently kind smile of the Liberty Queen, Yue Yang couldn’t call her an idiot.

In this world, there would always be some people who loved selflessly without a price at all. Without asking for any reward at all, they were the type of person who was already suffering and exhausted, yet were willing to silently endure and fully sacrifice themselves… For example, his own Si-niang.

Si-niang was not like the Liberty Queen, who treated everyone kindly and selflessly. Si-niang’s empathy merely extended within the scopes of her family members.

But in some ways, she was the same as the Liberty Queen.

Her dedication towards Yue Yang, Yue Bing and the little girl was more than that of the Liberty Queen’s to the world. It could be said that Si-niang concentrated her kind of great love on Yue Yang and his siblings, which shaped him into the happy person he is when he spent time with his family. He couldn’t be a selfless saint himself, but Yue Yang didn’t want to deny this kind of contribution, because if he were to deny it, it would mean denying Si-niang.

When the Liberty Queen boarded the luxury airship and decided to accompany the Country Lord of Zhi Feng to meet the enemy on the Central Island of the Wind-stopping Swamp, the hungry people of Green Willow City finally got free food for the first time.

They all knew.

These were the blessings that the Liberty Queen made in exchange for their lives as they couldn’t do anything else but cry and pray.

Yue Yang saw everything in his eyes, and took the biggest doubt in his heart into the airship. When the Country Lord Zhi Feng and others discussed with Sky Execution on how to prevent the enemy from setting up an ambush and siege, Yue Yang approached the Liberty Queen and asked, “If the Country Lord Zhi Feng doesn’t keep his promise, what would you do? He has power so there is no need to keep his promise, and even if he breaks his promise, you have no power to stop him.”

The Liberty Queen ‘looked’ at Yue Yang with unfocused eyes, showing a smile like a spring breeze, “Are you the Young Master Titan from the Upper Realm? Although you appear to be very rebellious, I can see that you are the only one who has a golden soul among many people… Here, except you, no one else would ask the question you did just now. That is to say, except you, not many people have empathy, especially when it comes to warriors with great power. They won’t remember the meaning of empathy until they lose their power— in fact, empathy is the greatest power! Those who have empathy are the most powerful people!”

“How is it possible? I don’t agree with your statement!” Yue Yang never felt that someone with empathy was the most powerful person, nor did he feel that empathy was the greatest strength of all.

“Think about it, if you had the ultimate power and looked back at the world, wouldn’t you all be as pitiful as ants? Watching them busy themselves with their vulgar and miserable lives, getting through emotions for the slightest benefit, for a momentary fame. Even if they try to fight, if they were to die fighting without accomplishing what they wanted their entire lives, dying in the delusion that they ‘sacrificed benevolently’; don’t you think those who behave like this are pretty funny to watch?” The Liberty Queen asked back with a smile.

“That doesn’t mean that the person with empathy is the strongest person!” Yue Yang’s refutation was unparalleled, but this was the first time that he felt a little difficult to refute.

“A person who truly has empathy does not mean that they have to behave like me. I just want to do well, but I can’t evoke true empathy. The greatest empathy is not as simple as letting some disaster victims get food. Here, I will give this example to illustrate that only the most powerful people can truly appreciate the humble when they look down on the common people and truly understand what ’empathy’ is. Those truly powerful ancient Gods are in the sky looking down at us people in the lower world, watching us live our lives as busy as ants, watching us being born, growing, fighting for profit, fighting to the death for fame and fortune, watching us get injured and ageing— all in the struggle for power and profit before succumbing to sickness and death in the end… Only by seeing into all such existences can one truly see the truth of the world. See the deplorability of low-level beings and understand what to do to be truly empathetic to all forms of life!”

When the Liberty Queen said that, Yue Yang was completely shocked.

He felt that he had an enlightened awakening, a feeling he had never felt before, bursting out from the deepest part of his heart.

Before that, he was constantly thinking about what was God and what was human. What was the limit of power and what was the ultimate goal of his growth. After today’s speech, he suddenly realised that he had found the best answer.

Only the most powerful person who stood atop the peak of strength could see the truth of the world, and could appreciate the smallest of beings.

Only then, would there be a form of empathy to look upon others with an extraordinary heart.

If he didn’t understand this, that would have meant that he wasn’t strong enough. But if he could do it, then why would he limit himself to the scopes of those who couldn’t understand? He finally understood it…[1]

[T/L Note: So I’m trying to understand as well, but the gist of it is probably saying that one can only truly empathise if you are strong enough to see the lives of others. To perceive, understand, and to remain grounded— but also know that you are strong enough to bring about change to better someone’s life and empathise with the weak.

Alas, I’m not Yue Yang so I’m not smart enough to understand the full meaning, but this should be something like that]

There was no change to Yue Yang on the surface, but in his heart, an earth-shattering change was taking place.
