CHAPTER 28
By the next day, Xander got the information about Jade on his desk. It was Sky who had personally delivered it to him and waited in his seat right across Xander who sat at the boss’s chair in the exquisite big office.
“There you go. This is all we could get about her. She really isn’t much you know,” Sky said as he shrugged his shoulders at his friend. “Just a simple girl with a simple background and life.”
Xander did not respond to his friend’s comments and just stared at the file in front of him before he pulled it out from the envelope.
A passport of Jade was shown on the front page. She was wearing a pair of glasses and her contact lens and brown hair was on.
She looked like a nerd, the serious intelligent type. So unappealing at a first glance, but something caught his eyes… her inner beauty that radiated from within.
One would have to take a closer look and see her in a different outfit before they could tell her glasses hid much of her beauty.
If one looked past those goggles and envisioned her without them, then her natural beauty would unravel.
“Quinn Wales, age 24. Studied at Moon Crest University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Masters in Finance from the same university. Impressive, her hobbies are swimming, skiing, singing and dancing.”
He went through her documents and found out she excelled in her studies and was a bright student. Subconsciously, he nodded at the documents in his hand before peeling his eyes off them and looking at Sky.
“Thank you.”
“Anytime. It is the least I can do now that my friend finally had his eyes set on a girl. Although I do wonder and imagine how you will get her to be yours,” Sky stated as a matter of fact.
He really had no issue in supporting his friend, but that girl was a wild cat and kicked him in the balls without a second thought when he kissed her.
If it were many other girls, they would have swooned and leaned in for a kiss. I mean everyone knew who Xander Warner was, everyone except Jade of course.
At least, even if she didn’t know him, he sure was a hot as fuck sexy young man. Who wouldn’t want such a guy?
<Author: Me, me, me… I know, Jade won’t haha>
<Xander: Author, give me my Tigress>
<Author: You wish, win her heart by yourself and I will make it happen>
<Xander: *GLARES* What do I need you for when I have won her heart?>
<Author: I am the one writing the story>
“I will make her mine. Just you wait and see,” Xander replied to Sky’s question without looking at his friend. His mind seemed to have drifted far away, thinking about the kiss he shared with his tigress.

Days went by and Xander did not catch sight of her. Jade on the other hand went about her business day and night and got the information she needed about her sworn enemy.
For the Anders, they checked all footage of people leaving the city but still couldn’t find any lead as to where Jade was.
It was when the last CCTV footage was brought before Zain Anders that he caught sight of Arctic leaving the city in one of the cars, but there was no sign of anyone else with him.
Although Arctic had done some change in his appearance, no matter what, Zain Anders could still detect him anytime and any day.
Unknown to them, Jade was placed in a bag on the ground in the back seat where a passenger’s foot would be and avoided every footage whatsoever.
It was not until they were far from the city that Arctic brought her out and they swapped cars with another one left for them by a close friend of his and headed for Star Cross City.
“Why does he keep evading us every now and then?!” Mr Zain yelled. His chest heaved up and down at the release of his outburst, startling the men in front of him.
They were in the small attached living room in his huge office and both men sat opposite him on a different couch.
It was Zale who spoke first. He understood his father’s temper and needed to do or say something that would calm him down.
“Father,” he stared but was cut short by his father’s next words.
“Why is it that every time I give an order, I have to interfere with it to make it work? Of what use are your men if they can’t do a good job?”
He turned to the man sitting at his left-hand side and stretched forth his hand in an questioning manner.
“Your job was simple but you messed up big time,” he added again and no one spoke. Both men knew it was better to shut up when the Chairman was having a fit than to speak and say something stupid and out of turn.
“Father, it is obvious she has escaped and is probably hiding somewhere in another city or also she may still be here and the Unkillable Killer only did that to make us think she had left the city and throw us off her tail. Think about it.”
His words did make sense to his father but unfortunately for them, it was the former, but they didn’t know that.
Zain Anders turned his head to look at his son and smiled briefly. It was so short and quick that within a second his smile was gone and all that was left was his devilish killer look.
“Keep on searching, we do not stop until we have Jade Frost in our hands. Every second, every minute, every hour Jade Frost spends away from our hold is like a ticking time bomb. With her alive and the seal nowhere to be found, it only means one thing.”
