CHAPTER 42
While all these things were being settled with Jade and Macy, Xander already got what he needed about her house address from the person he asked to secretly follow Jade.
“Hmm, so little Tigress, this is where you live huh? Not so simple for such a simple profile. What are you hiding and not wanting anyone to see?”
Xander muttered to himself as he looked at the pictures in his hands of both Jade and Macy leaving the hospital, coming down from the taxi and entering a big building.
It was a building at a street where some rich folks nested. Getting an apartment there meant you were connected to some important people.
And this was a simple Quinn or that was what her data said, living in such a connected environment.
His lips curved upwards into a knowing smile.
“In time, you would be mine and I would have you call my name like it is your medicine. Hahha ha-ha.”
Xander laughed at his own joke earning him confused stares from his friend Jay.
Jay who had been silently paying attention to the news he was watching, turned his head to the corner to look at his friend who was laughing silly to himself.
‘I wish Sky was here to see this.’ Jay wished internally with his gaze lingering on Xander.
“When you are done staring, make sure you prepare your mind for some…”
“Don’t say it.” Jay knew he was going to say the words punishment and honestly, he did not want to hear anything relating to it.
“Okay, I would pardon it on one condition.”
“And what is that?” Jay asked him carefully. He knew Xander, sometimes he could be quite a cunny and impossible to deal with person.
“Very simple. Relax, I am not sending you to a village in Africa or the Sahara.”
“Then where are you sending me to?” Jy asked again.
“I need you to personally deliver some flowers from me to my tigress. As a reward, you can go and visit your crush if you wish.”
CCHOO! COH!
Jay immediately started coughing and almost choked on the drinking he was drinking at that moment.
He had least expected for Xander to say something like that. But what was even more surprising was that he said Jay could go and visit Macy.
How in the heaven’s did he ever think that Jay had a crush on Macy?
Xander!
He looked over at his friend after his coughing fit had subsided with wide eyes. “Are you serious right now?”
Rather than answering his rhetorical question, Xander’s smile broadened.
“How did you know… No, what makes you think or who told you I have a crush on her friend?”
“No one.”
“Lies. I bet it must have been that sly Sky.”
(Sky: Achoo!!! Someone must be speaking badly of me. Tsk.)
Instantly, the air surrounding them changed and if Jay thought that was the maximum extent to which his eyes could widen, then he was sorely mistaken as the minute he felt the bone-chilling aura exude from a certain someone, his eyes widened the more.
He knew his big mouth must have said something he shouldn’t and that had only ended up provoking a no-nonsense person.
“Who did you call a liar.”
“Yikes, my bad, my bad. Calm down Jay.”
Xander arched his eyebrows at his mistake and shook his head.
‘That should do it.’ Xander thought and calmed himself down.
Immediately the atmosphere changed and the cold aura was gone as soon as it came and replaced with a certain warmth that still carried dread with it.
“Since you want to know, I would tell you then. You told me. I never said who your crush was, neither did I mention her friend. Your guilt spilt and you blamed Sky. I would have him know what you said.”
“Hehe, you can tell him. I can threaten him with something else and he would relax. At least he is not some overgrown… Yikes, my big mouth.” He covered his mouth with his hands before he could let out more than he could handle when the return came.
“Not some what?”
“Nothing, nothing. Where are the flowers and I would be on my way.” Jay immediately stood up from his seat and scratched his head with a smile on his face and his eyes closed.
Xander mentally shook his head at him before pulling out a paper from the envelope at his side. “Here.” He handed the paper to Jay.
It contained the house address of both ladies.
“Phewww whoopee!” Jay whistled the moment he saw where they lived.
“You know why I am sending you, right?”
“Yes. Feedback on expressions, body language and the sort.”
“Good. Glad your brain is still functioning.”
“Hey, give me some credit Xan. What am I? Some retard?” Jay asked his friend, putting n a fake displeased face.
“You said so yourself. Now, kindly get going.”
