Chapter 173: Immediately, he stomped his feet on the ground, and with his eyes still locked on the elite student, he quickly casted another spell.
“Earth Hold!” He shouted, as he hurriedly channeled his mana.
Almost instantly, two thick lumps of earth rose up above the Elementalist feet, before suddenly locking in on his legs, trapping him to the ground.
‘Shit!’ David exclaimed inwardly, and a deep frown appeared on his face when he realized that his legs were stuck to the ground.
However, Wes didn’t give him any chance to free himself, before stretching his hands forward once more, casting another spell.
“Rock Blast!” He shouted. Following his words, a medium sized rock formed in front of his palms, before suddenly shooting towards David at rapid speed.
The eyes of the Elementalist widened in shock, but he didn’t let himself get distracted for too long. He quickly raised his hand up, in preparing to cast a spell and defend himself from the incoming rock.
“Fire Slash!” He exclaimed, as he quickly pulled his hand downward, making a slashing motion.
A thin slash made purely of fire rapidly formed in front of him before shooting towards the incoming rock, following his hands motion. 𝑖.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Swoosh!
A loud sound reverberated through the air as the slash moved through the air at rapid speed.
The two attacks collided against each other while still in the air, with the slash of fire slicing right through the rock, causing it to cut into two unequal parts, before disintegrating into tiny brown particles.
The fire slash didn’t stop after slashing through the rock, it went on towards Wes, threatening to cut through him.
However, Wes easily evaded it by moving to the side, making the slash fly past him. It moved through the air for a few more seconds before also disintegrating into tiny red particles. ‘Don’t think you can stand against me!’ Wes said, with his face morphed into a scornful frown. David was a middle stage two Elementalist, and he was also an elite student, but that didn’t mean they were on the same level! Far from it, their power levels were completely different, with his being on top of course. Seeing as the Elementalist sliced through his spell infuriated him, and he planned on showing that difference between them. Wes suddenly raised his hands up, causing the black haired Elementalist’s eyes to widen with worry.
His feet were still stuck, and it was clear that Wes didn’t plan on releasing the trap spell soon.
With his mana sense, he could sense an insane amount of mana gathering above Wes’s hands, and he instinctively knew he had to dodge this next attack, no matter what.
But first, he had to free himself from this spell binding his legs!
“Cobra’s Bite!” Wes shouted, immediately casting the spell he had been channeling his mana for.
A snake made of water instantly formed above his head, with its size rapidly increasing as its body started swelling up, with even more mana!
The water snake only stopped increasing after reaching the size of a cobra, with hood its mouth wide open, revealing a set of sharp deadly fangs.
The size and figure of that spell caused the jaws of the audience to drop in shock. What shocked them the most was how seemingly easy Wes had casted the spell. Spells of that type and magnitude were one of the most difficult types to cast. Each ‘line’ and ‘shape’ that formed the beast had to be perfectly threaded together with mana, and making one mistake could lead to the whole spell crumbling.
Not just anyone could pull that off, but Wes did It, and it didn’t even seem like he struggled that much. “Hehehe.” Wes chuckled, his gaze drifting to David who was still channeling his mana to cast a spell and free himself.
Beads of sweat pooled on his forehead, and despite acting smugly, the spell he was currently maintaining was taking quite a toll on not just his mana, but also his mana core. Seeing the scared look in his eyes filled him with so much joy, and despite that the black haired elite was also preparing to cast another spell, he wasn’t worried in the slightest.
“Fire Boots!” David shouted, a boot of fire quickly forming around his feet. The heat from the fire managed to weaken the lumps of rocks binding his feet, leaving deep cracks in them.
“Go!” However, Wes suddenly shouted thrusting his hands forwards at that moment.
The water cobra floating above his head immediately flew towards David at insane speed, rapidly closing in on him from above. The cobra’s mouth stretched wider as it flew through the air, its sharp fangs catching the light, gleaming with each passing moment. 𝘦.𝘤𝘰𝑚
‘I have to dodge!’ David exclaimed inwardly, hurriedly using the fire boots on his feet to boost his speed.
He gritted his teeth in frustration, and immediately jumped backwards, using the power of the fire boots to propel himself.
He hoped to escape the cobra’s ‘bite’ by moving away from the trajectory, so the snake can crash into the ground instead. However, he ended up being too slow, or rather, the water snake was just too fast!
Before he could land on his feet, the cobra descended on him with full force.
The cobra swallowed him whole from his head to just above his torso, before its jaws suddenly closed up upon him, and its fangs dug deeply into his skin. “Arrrgh!” David shouted in pain, as he felt the sharp fangs of the water cobra pierce through his skin. Due to the cobra being made of water, some part of the fangs simply dissolved back into water upon impact, so it didn’t pierce through its skin as deep as the fangs of a real cobra would.
However, the pain was still there, and the force at which the cobra’s jaws closed in upon him brought even more pain.
Thud!
As if that wasn’t enough, the remaining body of the ‘cobra’ suddenly descended upon him with immense force, causing his body to crash unto the ground, making a loud crashing sound.
