Six days later, Del left the house with Cole. The wound hadn’t healed up yet, but the lingering pain had eased up in comparison to the previous six days. At the very least, he could walk now, albeit with some help from Cole.
Del brought his empty Kar98 and his empty 1911 as usual. He didn’t want that weapon to fall into the wrong hands. He hadn’t bought new ammunition for those two weapons since he didn’t have enough money.
“Your legs are a little bit better now?” Cole asked Del who was walking very slowly.
Del walked very slowly to mitigate the pain on his legs, “Well, at least, I can walk now. It will be faster if you can carry me, though.”
“You’re heavy, especially with the weapons on your body,” Cole said.
“Fine, the guild building is in front of us anyway, I should have asked you to carry me sooner,” Del said.
Del entered the guild building with the 1,000 gold coins pouch in his pocket and Osmond’s ring. It should prove that Del killed Osmond successfully to the guild. The receptionist was surprised to see Del still alive.
“I thought I am going to deliver the bad news to Rina. I’m glad that you have proven me wrong,” the receptionist greeted him.
Del put the pouch and the ring on top of the receptionist’s table. The receptionist took it away and he put one gold coin on the table, “Here’s the reward. Count Dela Rose will be in touch soon.”
“What does the count want with us?” Del asked.
“Well, he will be there to give you some rewards for giving him his 1,000 gold coins back. Anyway, just be prepared for it. Anyway, why are your legs covered in bandages?” The receptionist asked.
“Well, there was a vampire, but I managed to fend it off with the help of my buddy here,” Del said.
“Your slave, you meant?” The receptionist asked back.
“Yeah. My slave,” Del sighed.
Del grabbed that one gold coin and put it inside the pocket of his pants. Del needed to throw away the clothes that he wore. The white shirt that he wore was not unclean, but it had a hole from the icicle.
His pants were also filled with two holes from the icicles. In short, both of his pants and his shirt needed to be thrown away since some of the holes were too big to be patched. Besides, it was not like Del couldn’t afford new clothing anymore.
He entered the inn again and the first person that greeted him was none other than Lisa.
“Del, YOU’RE ALIVE?” Lisa came running from the receptionist’s desk.
She hugged Del and Del hugged her back, “Yeah, of course, I’m alive, what do you think I am?”
“Mother is so worried about you,” Lisa said.
“Yeah, I understand. Anyway, does Rina have any alcohol in the bar?” Del asked.
“Del… I told you not to get drunk again!” Lisa pinched him.
“Alright, alright, I should head back to my room then,” Del said.
Del and Cole walked upstairs. They entered their room and Del laid down in his bed again. Walking from the settlement to Midham with three major points of injuries on his body without any painkiller was more than exhausting.
Del felt that all he wanted to do was to lay down on his bed again all day long. However, if he did that again, there was no way that the one gold coin that he had would be enough for the next two days. He really needed the money for supplying his armaments and his needs.
Del looked at the status plate that he had. He wondered whether killing two people would level him up or not. It felt that his pain tolerance went up significantly than before. Maybe there was something that changing in his body.

“My vitality seems to be going up significantly, maybe it’s because of the wound,” Del said.
“What?” Cole asked.
“This is my status plate. This thing displays my status, you should have one so I can know how strong you are,” Del said.
“Man, I don’t need that thing. Unless I can work at your guild, the plate that you’re holding is nothing more than scrap metal for me,” Cole said.
“Yes, but I also need to know how strong you are,” Del said.
“Fair enough. Do you have something on your mind?” Cole said.
“Yeah, could you leave me alone for a while? Maybe you can go roam around the town, buy something nice for yourself, you have done enough for me anyway,” Del gave Cole twenty silver coins.
“Sure, thanks man,” Cole retrieved the coins and he left the room.
Del swallowed a pill of Ibuprofen from the bottom of his pillow and he laid down in the bed. He asked Pidma to come out so he could buy new ammunition.
“Pidma,” Del said.
[What can I do for you?]
“I want to buy new ammunition. I want to buy ammunition for my rifle and my pistol.”

“It seems that there is something new on the menu, did I get this from leveling up?” Del asked.
[Correct. You can upgrade ammunition quality now. Better ammunition will provide better damage and better penetration. It will also unlock some prototype bullets that haven’t even been made on Earth before]
“Wow, how can I upgrade ammunition then?”
[You have to pay a certain amount of funds]
“How much should I pay for it then?” Del asked.
[100,000$]
“THAT’S ONE THOUSAND GOLD COINS!” Del said.
[Who said it will be cheap?]
“Anyway, that tech level display is something new on this ammunition menu as well. What does it do?” Del asked.
[The higher your tech level, the more varieties of ammunition will appear. Basically, the higher your tech level, the more ammunition types will appear. Keep in mind that some ammunition types will only appear if you have reached a certain level of both tech level and ammunition level]
“For example?”
[HE ammo is only available at tech level 2]
“HE?”
[High-Explosive]
“Damn, ok, that’s very good then,” Del said.
[Del, can I ask you a personal question?]
“Ask away. You have done beyond what I can expect in this world.”
[Who do you value the most in your entire life? Please, be honest with me]
“Honestly speaking, my twin sister. She reminds me of my mother minus the clumsiness. She might have her own negatives. But to be honest, she was the only one left on Moore’s family. My parents have both passed away,” Del said.
[Weren’t your little sister vote for your banishment?]
“I don’t think she did. She looked the saddest and angriest when I was banished. To be honest, I doubt that the relationship between her and the other heroes is good at the moment.”
[I see. I hope both of you reunite soon]
“I don’t think it will happen very soon. She is the healer of the heroes party. I doubt she can go anywhere at this point,” Del sighed, “But still, I don’t think she’s the only healer inside of the heroes party.”
[Life is unpredictable, don’t you think?]
“I couldn’t agree more. Anyway, Pidma, I want to buy twenty .45 ACP AP-T and ten 7.92×57 FMJ.”
[Sure]
The metal box on top of the table in his room closed. Del painfully stood up from his bed and he walked towards the metal box. He opened the metal box and he picked up three packages of ammunition.
One was written [7.62×57 FMJ] and the other was [.45 ACP AP-T]. Del didn’t have any idea why he bought the AP-T ammunition specifically for the .45 ACP other than that it was the most expensive ammunition.
“What is AP-T?” Del asked.
[AP-T stands for Armor-Piercing Tungsten. It uses a Tungsten core inside of the bullet instead of the ordinary lead or steel.]
“I see. It’s good ammunition then. I shall go back questing again tomorrow, I think,” Del said.
[It’s a good idea]
“Anyway, I think Cole will arrive at the room soon,” Del said.
Cole entered the room. Del wondered what Cole bought. In his hands were none other than a book and a bag. Del didn’t know why Cole bought those things, but he didn’t want to ask either.. He was too tired.
