Modern Weapon Summoning System Novel

Chapter 51 - More Hostile!!!

Del kept running and running while worrying about Cole’s fate. He knew that he was somewhat capable, but Del was really unsure whether Cole was able to face many bounty hunters at once without his help. Maybe his Uzi would definitely help, but it wasn’t exactly something that was as strong as Del’s M240.

Cassandra followed Del from behind while running although she absolutely had no clue why Cole would be in danger, partly because she didn’t have the chance to look at the reason why Del was even running without any reason. Nevertheless, since Del was the team leader, following him was a good decision.

“Oy, why is Cole in trouble?” Cassandra asked while running.

“I found a map with a circle. The circle showed a general area of whatever the fuck they are looking for and the circle is located near Cole!” Del shouted back as he slided down from the mountain using the slippery surface of the snow while holding his M240 with his hands.

Del kept running and running. As he got closer to his camp, he heard gunfire from the distance. There was no way that the person that was shooting it was not Cole. His hunch was correct, Cole got mistaken as Lize’s camp and the bounty hunters were hunting him down.

Still, there might be another reason on why there was a fight between the bounty hunters and Cole. Spotting a demon roaming around was something that was considered to be dangerous. Their goal might be killing Cole instead of killing Lize.

After a lot of sweat and a lot of running, they finally arrived at the camp. Gunfight had issued indeed. Cole was moving from one place to another while holding his Uzi firmly with one hand and his grimoire on another. Bunch of fireballs were flying to the direction of the bounty hunters. He was currently hiding behind a rock while firing his Uzi from cover.

“BRO, I’M HERE!!!” Del shouted from afar.

Del laid down on the ground and the next thing that he did was to pull the trigger of his M240. He shot at the bounty hunter that came running after Cole with a sword on his hand. 7.62 bullet immediately stopped him from moving ever again.

“Cassandra, hold them off! I will get to Cole,” Del said as he prepared his stance to start running towards Cole’s position.

“Aye, [Precise Strike Mode: Icicle Barrage]!” Bunch of icicles started forming in front of Cassandra and the ice spikes flew towards the direction of the bounty hunters that were coming from the mountain.

Del dashed to Cole while providing supressing fire using his M240 to make sure that he didn’t get shot by a random magical spell that was aimed towards his direction. He slided down towards Cole’s hiding spot.

Cole was sweaty and blood was coming out of his hand. A sword might have slashed him before Del arrived at the spot. “Damn, where the hell have you two been? These guys just attacked from nowhere.”

“Sorry, I was a little bit busy,” Del put his machine gun on top of the rock and started engaging the enemy.

“Like the hell I’d care, anyway, kill these dudes!” Cole shouted.

“Aye aye.”

Del looked at the bounty hunters that were coming after Cole. Del’s reaction after seeing them was surprised on how many of them were there. It was more than what he had previously expected. It was probably more than twenty people, maybe fourty of them. All of them were armed with various kind of weaponry.

Some of them were holding a spear, some were holding a staff, some were holding a sword, and the rest were holding a bow. Some of the swordmen were also wearing Mithril armor. They were slowly creeping up toward Del and Cole.

“Engaging high priority threats!” Del shot his machine gun at anyone that held a staff on their hands. Mages could easily kill him thanks to their variation in attack patterns.

Still, even after firing his machine gun, the barrage of spells seemed to never stop. He needed a distraction.

“Wolfie, is there anything that you can do?” Del asked Wolfie.

“I think I can run to their direction and kill one of them, but you have to keep an eye out on the big guy,” Wolfie answered.

“Alright, sure, who’s the big guy? The big guy that is wearing thick clothing?” Del asked.

Wolfie barked.

“Sure boy, get em!” Del pulled the trigger of his M240 and sprayed all of the swordmen that were wearing mithril armor.

Bullets were flying at the direction of those bounty hunters, penetrating their armor and killing all of armored opponents except for one. He used the exact same technique as the person that Del previously encountered in the bounty hunters encampment.

“SHIELD? AGAIN???” Del shouted.

This time, the person was also wearing a Mithril armor. The energy shield also seemed to be surrounding him from all sides without any opening. There might be a way to bust that shield open, but Del didn’t know how.

“Cole, is there any way to bust open an energy shield?” Del asked.

“Well, we can hit it with everything that we have and it might work out well,” Cole said.

“Saturation attack?”

“I think so.”

“HAHA! WHY DON’T YOU TRY HARDER TO KILL ME?” That bounty hunter asked.

Del responded with another barrage of 7.62 rounds to his shield. The bullet just bounced off from that energy shield. They needed a solution, and they needed it fast. “Cole, do you remember that large fireball that you created sometimes ago?”

“Yeah, why do you ask?” Cole asked.

Del’s plan was simple. Cole needed to prepare his fireball as Del distracted the bounty hunter from approaching Cole. Hopefully, the big fireball would be enough to distract the bounty hunter and disable his thick shield.

“Look, I want you to prepare the big giant fireball to that dude,” Del pointed his hand at the person, “I will distract him.”

“Sure.”

“Alright, let’s make this plan works, shall we?” Del reloaded his gun as he prepared his M240 to kill the approaching bounty hunter.
