Noah had worked hard in the morning and afternoon, having Idle Mode set up on 3 Dimensional Rifts simultaneously when it was already in the evening.
He relaxed among the tall verdant grasses on the field behind the Blessed Academy, very few Blessed taking the time to come back here as their hearts were set of Rifts and what they could do to get stronger from them.
When someone did go behind the Blessed Academy, it was more than likely a crimson-haired girl that pushed herself to help her slacker of a brother.
The wind caused the grass to sway peacefully as Noah had a bright smile while relaxing, the environment of this world being so fantastic that simply taking in the air from the surroundings felt wondrous.
His eyes were following the green energies swirling on the grass around him as they soon wandered and began seeing the appearance of tall slender legs. Those legs…he recognized those legs.
“Brother…why are you always here?”
Annalise had appeared with a tired face as she stood above her brother, Noah rising up from the ground he lay on as he looked at her with a light smile. The Dimensional Rift diving today must have been particularly stressful as the girl had tired eyes that didn’t seem to want to continue anymore!
“It’s peaceful here. Away from the bustle of academy city, away from the maddened Blessed that are always busy doing something.”
Noah said this as he looked even further past the plains behind Academy City. Half a mile away, the plains turned into thick foliage and trees as they melded to form the start of a famous forest in the Academy City, a forest that the Blessed Academy itself normally had training exercises in.
Annalise nodded at her brother’s answer as she sat down beside him. She didn’t expect her brother to ask her a question next.
“Why do you work so hard to dive into Dimensional Rifts, little sister?”
“…to change our position. Mom and dad have been stuck in the Bronze Rank all their lives as they only move like clock work for the past years diving into Rifts to get enough loot to sustain us as the process only repeats…”
Annalise had unexpectedly found herself talking freely, her gaze hazy as flames of ambition could be seen in this girl’s eyes!
This was the Blessed that had awoken an Inherent Skill that many genius Blessed held, a type of skill that propelled them to power if they utilized it and grew it well.
It was something called an Inherent Growth Skill, something that grew with the power of the holder!
Annalise’s Growth Skill was something that allowed her to be dominant in the Burning Domains Rift, the ability Noah had seen before when he observed her shooting extremely cold arrows to the flame based monsters.
|Ice Queen|.
A growth ability with a dominant name that granted its holder the attribute of ice in all their attacks. Depending on what the Blessed that held it did, the skill could be grown in something terrifying, or it could be lost in the dredges of time as it amounted to nothing.
Noah was a normal Blessed that had awakened with out such a perk, his situation being something the large majority of Blessed went through.
“I want to grow strong enough that Bronze Rank isn’t the peak that I will be stuck on, so that I can tell mom she doesn’t have to risk her life every day with Teams of people that all have their own goals. Anything can happen you know? Any one of these days she could enter a Rift…and we might never hear from her again.”
THRUM!
Shocking words came out of Annalise as Noah’s lazy eyes focused. The emotions of the body he took over seemed to become tumultuous as time passed!
“It would be helpful if my older brother picked up some of the work and helped me as well.”
Annalise voiced out softly as she hugged her knees while staring in the direction of the far forest with glimmering verdant trees.
Noah could only sigh as he rose up, giving her a light smile as his hand reached out to help her up.
“Your older brother will surprise you in the next few days, I really wasn’t joking when I said that.”
“Mmm…let’s go home for now.” The eyes of Annalise were filled with many thoughts as she merely nodded towards her brother with a smile, the two siblings beginning to walk back to their homes!
They passed through the streets of Academy City and found the Complex their parents had managed to provide for them for all their lives, entering its folds as the hours quickly passed.
Noah enjoyed the feeling of clicking the Idle Gaming System interface when 10+ hours had passed, the sight of a large collection of loot resources showing up at once having become an addicting feeling to him.
Since around 5 pm in the evening, he didn’t collect any loot resources from the three Dimensional Rifts running in Idle Mode as he planned to give himself a surprise early in the morning!
