Chapter 5532: Butchering

Chapter 5532: Butchering

Without hesitation, the Hidden Dragon warriors obeyed Long Chen’s orders. If he commanded them to kill, they would not hold back.

The other side had not expected the Hidden Dragon warriors to be so vicious. As the battle erupted, many of them were slaughtered before they could even react.

“Courting death!”

A furious roar rang out as an enraged expert charged forward with a saber. His aura was overwhelming—clearly, he was a sealed expert of immense power.

However, a streak of Sword Qi directly claimed his sorry life. He had underestimated the Hidden Dragon warriors far too much.

“Have you gone mad?!” Cries of fear and panic spread among the enemy ranks. Some fled in terror, others stood paralyzed, and a few attempted to retaliate.

They had only come to see who this fellow called Long Chen was, but instead, they were greeted with a merciless bloodbath. The Hidden Dragon warriors’ viciousness scared them witless.

“If you don’t want to die, scram!”

Long Chen’s voice echoed with chilling authority as he strode forward without pause, leading the Hidden Dragon Legion. Thousands of experts were scared into running away, opening a path for Long Chen and the others.

Long Chen charged through with the Hidden Dragon warriors, completely ignoring these cowards. He headed straight for the main plaza.

The plaza was teeming with countless experts, a sea of bodies packed so tightly that the space felt oppressively small for the first time in its history.

“They’re killing people!”

A bloodied figure stumbled into the plaza, his panicked cries drawing everyone’s attention.

“What’s going on?!” shouted a stern-faced elder with a broad, square visage.

“Reporting to the pavilion master!” the wounded man gasped. “Just as Jin Ke said, the Wind God Sea Pavilion is rebelling! We were ordered to find Long Chen, but he… he killed us!”

This report caused an uproar. While Jin Ke had said so many bad things about Long Chen, especially about how arrogant he was, these people hadn’t really believed it. After all, this was merely a branch pavilion—what could justify such arrogance? But now, with bloodshed confirming Jin Ke’s accusations, their doubts quickly turned to anger.

“This Long Chen is truly courting death! Since he wants to die so badly, we’ll kill him right now!” shouted an expert of the ancient era.

“How dare a branch pavilion act so arrogant in front of the head pavilion? If this isn’t a rebellion, what is it?”

“Surround the Wind God Sea Pavilion! Any traitors must be eradicated!”

Furious cries rang out as their anger reached a boiling point.

At that moment, a cold, disdainful voice echoed through the plaza.

“If you want to kill me, Long Chen, then come!”

A black-robed man boldly walked into the plaza, and the Hidden Dragon Legion trailed behind him.

Jin Ke’s face twisted with malice when he saw Long Chen. Pointing at him, Jin Ke bellowed, “That’s him! He’s Long Chen! Pavilion master, look at his arrogance! Everything is his faul—”

“You can die for those lies.”

Before Jin Ke could say another word, Yue Zifeng stepped forward, his sword already drawn. A streak of divine light flashed toward Jin Ke.

“Impudence!”

The so-called pavilion master roared in fury, raising his hand to intercept the attack. The void twisted as his immense power surged forth to block the Sword Qi.

But to everyone’s shock, the divine light slipped past his defense. A spray of blood erupted as Jin Ke’s body shuddered. Moments later, his head slid cleanly from his neck and hit the ground with a dull thud.

The pavilion master’s face darkened, his eyes wide with disbelief.

“What?!”

This pavilion master was no ordinary expert—he was a true Divine Emperor. His Blood Qi and Spiritual Strength were immense, untouched by the erosion of time that plagued others like the patriarchs of the Dragon Domain. Yet, despite his power, he had failed to stop Yue Zifeng’s attack.

The plaza fell silent as the pavilion master and countless others stared in stunned disbelief.

Yue Zifeng swung his sword and sheathed it. The sound of it being sheathed was like a hammer striking them in the softest part of their hearts.

“You sliced the laws? Who are you?!” shouted the pavilion master, his voice trembling with shock.

The pavilion master’s shock deepened when he finally realized what had just happened. Yue Zifeng’s sword had cleaved through the very laws of space. His strike had deceived everyone, warping their perception and clouding their judgment.

In essence, the moment Yue Zifeng’s sword struck, the flow of time around it diverged from that of the outside world.

The timing and angle of Yue Zifeng’s strike seemed ordinary, predictable even. But as the pavilion master attempted to block it, the laws of space distorted his speed. For a fraction of a second, his motion slowed, just enough for Yue Zifeng’s sword to slip past his defense and strike down Jin Ke.

Slicing apart the laws—only a true genius could even begin to comprehend this feat.

The pavilion master, a Divine Emperor, had spent countless years delving into it, but he had yet to grasp even the faintest fragment of the laws governing space. Yet here was Yue Zifeng, his sword brushing against the laws of space. Although it was only the slightest bit, it completely shocked the pavilion master.

“Long Chen’s subordinate, fourth captain of the Dragonblood Legion, Yue Zifeng,” Yue Zifeng replied coldly, his tone indifferent.

Hearing that this powerful sword cultivator was Long Chen’s subordinate, all of them were shocked. They had just realized that he had been standing behind Long Chen the entire time.

“Big words! Do you have a divine throne?! Are you a god?!” shouted the pavilion master, trying to assert dominance.

“A loud mouth requires strength to back it up. But does your bravado come from your status alone? If you already know the answer, why bother asking?” Yue Zifeng countered cooly, shaking his head.

Long Chen blinked in surprise. Since when had Yue Zifeng, a man of few words, mastered the art of verbal sparring?

In just a few words, Yue Zifeng had torn down the pavilion master’s authority, suggesting that the latter lacked the power to match his title. His sheer audacity left even Long Chen momentarily speechless.

“You insolent brat! You dare disrespect the pavilion master? Do you think your small skill is enough to make you arrogant? Come over here. Let’s see if you’re qualified to be so arrogant!” A voice boomed over.

A massive figure stepped forward with deliberate power. It was a towering giant, with muscles rippling beneath his skin, exuding an overwhelming aura of Blood Qi.

Clad in armor, wielding a spear and a shield, he rocked the plaza with every step he took. The very air seemed to tremble with the presence of primal chaos qi. He had to be an ancient expert from the primal chaos era.

“Feng Tingwen!”

The head pavilion’s experts cried out in shock when they saw him step forward.
