Origin Court: Accepting Disciples With A System Novel

Chapter 291 Meeting The Supreme Elder

“Hmm?” Supreme Elder Gu immediately noticed that someone seemed to be looking at him and looked elsewhere, to where the feeling of being looked at by someone from afar. “Was it just my imagination?”

“No, it isn’t.”

“What the…” Supreme Elder Gu’s old heart almost jumped out of its ribcage as he looked at the other party suspiciously. When he saw the latter’s face, he was star-struck. ‘Isn’t this boy too handsome for a young man? More importantly, how does he know that I’m hiding here? Even the other former Arch-Cardinals wouldn’t know I’m here even if they bulge their eyes just to search for my location. Just how did he…’

Supreme Elder Gu put a brake on his thoughts and stared at the dog in Yang Lujia’s arms. Its fur was shiny and brownish. It was probably the most beautiful beast he had ever seen. Even the dragons in Da Shikong wouldn’t amount to a percentage of this dog’s beauty. Moreover, this dog seemed to be very strong that even he couldn’t fathom the strength of this dog.

“Who are you?” Supreme Elder Gu looked at the young man seriously. He realized that the identity of this young man before him might not be as simple as he was. Moreover, there were also the other two behind that seemed to be as powerful as he was. He could even sense a familiar aura on the other young man.

Sheng Ao already wore a disguise. It was a technique that his master taught him. To disguise himself completely. Not even his blood was spared for the disguise. This would then totally conceal his aura.

“I’m Yang Lujia,” the other party replied. “You?”

“You can call me Old Gu. Anyway, young man, you don’t seem to have any ill intentions towards me or the people below us. What are you doing here?” he asked.

Yang Lujia looked down on the kids who were taking part in the Holy Light Sect’s test and gazed back at the old man. “I am here to know the truth about something. To get to the truth that’s been bothering me.”

“Something that’s been bothering you? What might it be, young man?”

“Why would I tell you, old man?” Yang Lujia smiled at him and gestured for the other to go back down to wait for him there. “Anyway, do you know the current Holy Son of the Holy Light Palace today? You are a former Arch-Cardinal, right?”

Supreme Elder Gu’s face turned grim as he looked at Yang Lujia. “How do you know that? All former Arch-Cardinals had not come out for at least a century. We might have been active, but we rarely show our faces to other people. Even if we come, we will show others not our real faces.”

“Hypocritical,” Yang Lujia commented. “What my disciple told me is that monks do not desire power or anything, but here you are, disguising yourself under a certain façade, as though you have a certain goal in mind that you want to accomplish. What is exactly the meaning of you, masking yourself out of everyone’s face?”

“You—”

“Don’t bother lecturing me, old man. Even if the Holy Light Emperor is here, he wouldn’t be able to defeat me. In fact, in the entire Da Shikong, no one can’t. Even the void beasts outside your cages.”

“Blasphemy! What are you trying to say, young man? Do you think because this old man had been good to you all this time, I will spare you—”

“Zip your mouth. Only open it to answer my questions.”

“You!” Supreme Elder Gu could already fly into rage anytime. His eyes were already red because of Yang Lujia’s taunts. It was as though he wanted to eat the latter whole. “What do you want?”

“Tell me. As a former Arch-Cardinal, I know that you know how the Holy Light Palace go about their rules and stuff. Do you know the name of the current Holy Son?”

Supreme Elder Gu found his question easy to answer as it was already known to everyone that his disciple was the current Holy Son, even though everyone had not seen his true face.

“Oh? Your disciple? Hao We? Hao we do it is none of your business. Kidding. That’s a funny name,” Yang Lujia joked.

“You dare?!” Supreme Elder Gu finally couldn’t take it anymore and attacked Yang Lujia. Holding a bead in his head, it bulged and exploded into different lights—assaulting Yang Lujia on all sides. “Earlier, you dare make fun of the Holy Light Emperor and now, you actually dared to make fun of my disciple? A Holy Son at that? Do you want a death sentence?”

“Old man, I am not forcing you to fight. I am forcing you to say the information I needed,” Yang Lujia said. “Do you think this kind of attack can injure me? It can’t even touch a millimeter of my clothes. I don’t want to resort to force. I only want information and one of my followers said that I should start from here.”

“What?” Supreme Elder Gu somehow got the gist and looked at Yang Lujia speechlessly. “What did you say? You’re not forcing me to fight… then why are you angering me?!”

“It’s because the more angry one will become, the more disoriented their thoughts will be,” replied Yang Lujia, his hands rubbing Brownie’s fur. “Look at you. You’re a monk, but you’re the most impatient one to date that I have encountered.”

“Who would not get angry when the Holy Light Emperor and the Holy Son are already involved in this? Both of them are blessed by the rules of light. None of them can be blemished by any of those words you said about them.”

“I did not blemish any of their names. It was only your thought that I did so. Ain’t I correct, old man? Come to think of it. I only said the Holy Light Emperor can’t defeat me when in fact, anyone can defeat him as long as they’re stronger. On the other hand, regarding the joke I threw regarding the Holy Son, do you really think I was referring to his name? Hilarious. You needlessly throw faults at a person who did not even throw anything bad at you.”

“What…” Supreme Elder Gu finally realized that he was being toyed with by this young man before him and stopped his rage immediately. He knew that if he continued to do so, who knew how his reputation would plummet?

“See? Since you are uncertain that you can defeat me, you stopped your actions because you cannot silence me. You are just afraid that the reputation of the Holy Light Sect and the Holy Light Palace or your own reputation would decline… that in itself… is hypocrisy… if you understand what I mean…”

Supreme Elder Gu still maintained his calm and looked at the kids below. Somehow, his mood lightened up. “What about you? You talk about these things as though you didn’t care about them.”

“Who said I cared about them, though?”

Supreme Elder Gu was about to flare with the reply but he managed to calm his ass down. Otherwise, he would be bested again by this sharp-tongued kid before him. “No one.”

Yang Lujia chuckled at this old man and teleported beside him. “Old man—”

“Holy—” Supreme Elder Gu instinctively leaped away from Yang Lujia. “How did you get near me?”

“That aside, I want to ask another question. This is with regards to the past of the Holy Light Palace. I am new here. I could go to the library of the palace or anywhere I could ask, but you, as a primary source, you are one of the most suitable ones and most credible to speak about the past of the palace. Do you know Sheng Ao, right?”

“Sheng Ao!” Supreme Elder Gu revealed an enraged look as he thought about the ex-Holy Son, who disparaged the reputation of Holy Sons of the Holy Light Palace. In the past, there were already several Holy Sons who were taken down, but they were all due to the schemes of the other princes in the fight for the throne. However, Sheng Ao’s case was different. He touched a woman and that was like a golden rule to them—to never let yourself be acquainted with a woman.

By acquainted, it meant having a sexual relationship with a woman.

And it was exactly because of this rule that Sheng Ao was condemned.
