[Ding! System Level 3 to Level 4 Upgrade Completed!]
[Ding! Main Mission Triggered: Insufficient System Level! Needs Upgrade!]
[Ding! After the upgrade, the Host is no longer able to use any of the previous abilities of the system, except for the Fifth Ability: Disciple Acknowledgment!]
[Ding! After the upgrade, since the Host is practically unable to use any of the previous abilities of the system, the system is now granted two new functions that the Host can use anytime.]
[Ding! After the upgrade, the system gains the function: Mission Shopping!]
[Mission Shopping: An ability of the system under the discretion of the Host’s desire to utilize. The Host will be able to use this function to open up a shop of the system that gives out random missions by buying them. The rewards from these missions are dependent upon their difficulty to accomplish. It may vary from natural treasures, spirit stones, elixirs, specialized dishes, and several more.]
When Yang Lujia saw that the rewards included those of his favorites, those that he found joy and pleasure from, he was feeling ecstatic after getting out of the private room where he was able to talk to the old owner—the old woman.
Although Yang Lujia felt a little regretful that he wasn’t able to use any of the system abilities for a very long time, he was not at all disappointed when he was given this new function. After all, those system abilities were probably abused by him without his knowledge when he was still growing as a cultivator. No wonder his cultivation was quite fast. It must be because of those functions. Perhaps he had passed through that stage, the system felt like he did not need any of those anymore.
That was the only reasonable reason he could think of. Anyway, he still had to check the other new function. Due to his excitement with the Mission Shopping Function, he could not wait for what the other function was.
[Ding! After the upgrade, the system gains the function: Summoning Writ!]
“Huh? Summoning Writ? What is this?”
[Summoning Writ: An ability of the system under the discretion of the Host’s desire to utilize. Summoning Writ is a system ability that the Host can use for summoning beasts, creatures, natural treasures, and many alike. Through the system, the Host can exchange a Summoning Writ, i.e., given through a scroll for a specific amount of treasures (e.g. spirit treasures, natural treasures, beasts). This ability can only be used once a year.]
[Note: Summoning Writ is a scroll with written content under the name of Origin Court. It is but a legal authority to call upon the Host’s summons the system assumed that he previously owned. It can also be a scroll containing the order of abstaining from any of his summons to act against the Host.]
“Something that I previously owned? Under the name of Origin Court? That’s strange. Fortuniel, what do you mean by this?” Yang Lujia basically stopped in his tracks before the door of the private door.
While the waitress did not notice him going out, he was doing it on purpose to not get noticed by her as he was into the new functions that the system gave him, due to the completion of killing the Child of Pan Gu, Long Gu. He didn’t know how it happened but it happened and it gave him these benefits. Therefore, how could he complain? As insignificant as it was to him, due to his overwhelming strength, he was more curious about the Summoning Writ function—because it involved the name of the Origin Court and the summons that the system assumed that he previously owned.
Fortuniel appeared in front of Yang Lujia. Yang Lujia was shocked to suddenly see something flash from his body and appear in front of him. He cautiously looked at the blanked-out waitress and sighed when she did not notice anything strange.
“Do not worry, Host. She won’t be able to see me. Hehe,” Fortuniel replied with his cheeky face.
The moment Yang Lujia realized that Fortuniel had gotten bigger than before and that he almost looked like a teenager now, he was surprised. “Did the upgrade help you this lot?”
“Yes, Host. Thanks to you.”
Yang Lujia ignored this and thought it was only normal and said, “You’re more lifelike now when it comes to communicating with me. Moreover, what is this Summoning Writ all about? Why did it say ‘the summons’ I ‘previously owned’?”
He placed emphasis on certain words to get the meaning to Fortuniel.
“I myself know nothing about it, Host. These new functions that I got are things that are out of my control. They just pop out like they are programmed in me. I awakened some of the memories I have but I still don’t know any big secrets, Host.”
‘Is he lying?’ Yang Lujia got suspicious of Fortuniel but he ignored the thought and instead asked, “What are these memories that you recently awakened?”
“I don’t know if they’re really memories, Host. Or they’re visions of what would happen in the future. I saw the future you. Compared to the present ‘you,’ that ‘man’ in my memories is a lot stronger than you are now.”
Yang Lujia merely nodded and made inferences. It seemed like he got some clues. ‘Could it be that I am some reincarnated old fellow? Or could I have occupied the body of a reincarnated old man? What else does that ‘previously owned’ summon mean? What are the true origins of Fortuniel? What reason have I come into this world for?’
He thought hard but deemed it to be fruitless as they were only inferences without solid evidence. ‘Although I must keep on guard against Fortuniel, I should just let nature take its course.’
“Fortuniel, you can go back now. I would still need to fix my own issues now with my disciples. By the time you upgrade again, I hope you can get more fragments of your memories. By then, you will be able to tell me everything you know.”
“Alright, Host.”
‘He’s really more human now, huh?’ he thought.
Suddenly appearing in front of the waitress shocked the latter to her core. It was as though she saw a ghost for the first time in her life. However, she was not frightened at all. Instead, she was just shocked to see how fragrantly beautiful this ghost was.
How handsome!
“Miss, I’ve already talked to your boss. I suppose she has already sent you a message through your communication token?” Yang Lujia interrupted her fantasies.
“Oh—! Right!” She quickly checked the token and was shocked when she saw the message she got from the owner. “Everything… for free…?”
She doubted her life now.
What was the background of this young man? If it was before, she would have disdained him. Even though he was handsome, if he did not have any fortune, she would not think he was someone of high stature at all. Being able to come to this floor did not mean he was someone high and mighty. However, now that the owner treated him for free, even after everything he and his group ate—she would not dare treat him with disrespect.
Yang Lujia did not miss the change in her gaze on him. However, he ignored her as it was only normal for someone like her to react like that. Thus, he did not say anything more and just walked past her.
When he reached their table, he found that it was already a mess. Brownie was sleeping, and so was Yin Hang. Cai Hong and Chao Xing were in a daze. Meanwhile, Sheng Ao was meditating. He just smiled wryly and woke them all up.
“Hurry up, you guys. We’re leaving now,” Yang Lujia said. “Also, Sheng Ao, it seems like you’re going to have a junior sister soon. I’ve felt her presence in the Dragon Emperor Palace.”
Sheng Ao was surprised and was also somewhat excited to have another fellow disciple joining their fray.
‘Long Bo, huh? It seems like he’s also from the Dragon Emperor Palace. Who could’ve killed him, a Dragon Prince and why did I get a reward even when I did not yet accept this new disciple I was going to have? It’s really strange.’
“Let’s go,” Yang Lujia said as he swiped his arms in the air. Cai Hong, along with Chao Xing and Yin Hang disappeared. The only ones who remained were Brownie and his other disciple, Sheng Ao.
“Master, is my future junior sister also a genius like my senior brothers and senior sister?” Sheng Ao couldn’t help but ask in curiosity while they were on their way to the palace.
Yang Lujia nodded. “In terms of talent, she might not lose against your second senior brother.”
After all, she was also an SSS-Class genius!
