Chapter 385: Do You Really Want Me To Save Her?

The red dragon suddenly raised his head when he saw the lightning headed towards him. He angrily opened his mouth and actually swallowed the lightning into his stomach before lowering his head and focusing his attention on the dragon girl once more. His lower stomach moved slightly, and a powerful force rose up around him before he opened his mouth and shot out a terrifying lightning bolt of his own—the dragon girl’s attack had actually been mixed with his own power.

Gch ….

Although the dragon girl had placed restrictive formations in front of her, they were all completely burned away by the bolt of lightning and she herself was struck as well. She spat out a mouthful of blood and was flung away like a white kite with its string cut.

The guests from the Red Convention had been rushing over to help the dragon girl, but they suddenly saw the dragon girl’s weak figure flying towards them before they’d even arrived. Shocked, they realized the dragon girl had been disadvantaged now instead, and they started to hesitate on whether they should retreat or not. The red dragon was already charging towards them and madly roaring, however, and nobody had enough time to evade; all they could do was loudly shout, “Stop him, stop him!” while performing various spells to keep him from getting close.

Despite their efforts, the red dragon was simply too quick and he managed to rush into the crowd before most people had even managed to form the shape of their spells or fully activate their weapons. With a slam of his claw, five people were torn apart; with a swipe of his tail, a dozen became a mist of blood; with a snap of his jaws, three were swallowed whole, and he turned before spitting out a Flying Sword that had gotten stuck between his teeth.

‘Princess….’ When the sea-snake beast saw the mad red dragon, her gaze became extremely furious, but Fang Xing had stuck the Sense Suspension Talisman to her head and she couldn’t move in the slightest. Although she could see the battle below her, all she was able to do was send a hateful glare towards Fang Xing and curse him a million times in her mind. ‘What a completely heartless bastard. Are you really a man…?’

Fang Xing naturally couldn’t hear the sea-snake beast’s mental cursing, but he was also closely observing the scene with tightly clenched fists. “She’s a woman I’ve bedded at least, so I do indeed need to help her!” he abruptly muttered to himself after a long time had passed, as though he’d finally made up his mind on a difficult decision..

The golden crow was shocked to hear such a thing. “Are you crazy?” he asked in a low voice, “How are you going to help her? Let alone that crazy dragon, even the two princes are Golden Cores; could we handle even one of them alone?”

The golden crow’s words were very sensible. The conflict of the Azure Seas could be considered one of the highest-level disputes of the entire realm and wasn’t something Fang Xing and the golden crow—such small characters—could interfere in. Even if Fang Xing’s battle prowess had been unbeatable by all within Foundation Stage, those four dragon children who were battling it out below were nothing less than Golden Cores, and their bloodlines further made it so their actual battle prowess was much higher than an ordinary person at Golden Core Stage. Such terrifying power and presence was enough to awe them even from a distance; wouldn’t joining in simply be seeking their own deaths?

Fang Xing looked at the battle, and his brows creased as he pondered hard. He’d always been a clever person and he’d managed to cheat several Golden Cores in the past as well as caused the death of ten Golden Cores of the Huangfu clan, but that had all been prepared well in advance whereas this was a battle he couldn’t get involved in without inevitable death.

The same helpless feeling he’d experienced during his earliest days after joining the cultivation realm began to rise up within him once more. In the realm of cultivation, it was still those with power who had the final say; even though he had many clever ideas and tricks up his sleeve, it still wasn’t enough to solve every problem he came across.

Anxious and desperate, the sea-snake beast was actually able to form a strand of spirit sense despite the Sense Suspension Talisman and managed to send it over to Fang Xing with great effort. “Fang Xing, I’ve heard your name many times before and have always admired you, but if you don’t even dare to help the princess today, wouldn’t you be lower than those ordinary people from the Red Convention? The daughters of the Dragon clan have always been unchangingly loyal; You cannot let the princess down….” It seemed she still harbored some hope towards Fang Xing and tried desperately to convince him to help. Trees have shadows and people have names; now that Fang Xing’s name was so well-known, it was understandable that people would place their hope on him.

Despite this, it was ultimately the person who’d know themself best. Fang Xing knew all too well he didn’t possess the remarkable abilities she imagined, and although he might act with great courage and guts, he’d always consider his life before anything else if he hadn’t been pushed too far. If there was someone he knew he wouldn’t be able to even touch, he wouldn’t hesitate in the slightest to treat them like his grandpa and lick their boots. Now he was looking at someone he knew he couldn’t risk offending, but there was some uncertainty in his heart.

This was something he’d normally decide with a single thought, but now he was hesitant. It wasn’t that he wasn’t bold enough, it was simply due to how challenging the opponent was and how it went against his belief of putting his own life first.

While Fang Xing was hesitating, the golden crow suddenly patted his shoulder a few times as though trying to hint at something. They were currently all covered in the blue cloud Fang Xing had created and were rather close to the battle occurring down below, yet even though Fang Xing, the golden crow, and the sea-snake beast were all observing the fight rather closely, the lotus girl had no interest whatsoever. She sat on the other side of the cloud with a dish of salt at her side while picking the meat from the lobster in her hands.

Fang Xing followed where the golden crow’s beak was pointing, and he soon understood. He exchanged glances, and the golden crow nodded as though to say this was their only option now, which was met with Fang Xing’s agreement.

The pair abruptly stood up once they made their decision, and although the sea-snake beast was shocked that the two had finally decided to go help the princess, the pair hop, skipped, and jumped their way together over to the gluttonous maid’s side instead. Fang Xing quickly began massaging the lotus girl’s shoulders like a complete lackey, and the golden crow grinned while standing beside the lotus girl to sweep some cool air her way; the two looked to be nothing less than her servants instead.

‘What are they doing?’ The sea-snake beast was completely puzzled; what were these two doing surrounding that little maid in such a critical situation? She didn’t know the true identity of the lotus girl and merely thought she was a maid in service to Fang Xing. She clearly remembered when Fang Xing easily sold her off in order to suck up to the Videha’s Yuan clan, which meant this girl should be nothing more than a small character with little importance.

Fang Xing put a lot of effort into his massage, and the lotus girl gave an extremely satisfied yawn at such professional care. She lightly grabbed the final piece of meat from the lobster’s claw, dipped it in salt, and ate it before tossing the shell aside and looking at Fang Xing with a half-smile. “You’ve never been so considerate before. You want me to do something?”

Fang Xing snickered. “I don’t need to explain everything, as you should have seen it as well. Those dragons below are so strong, and for the two of us to get involved is digging our own graves. Right now, in this entire realm, only Little Miss and her power would be enough to suppress those long worms….”

The golden crow swept his wings with even more effort and helpfully added, “That is certainly so. Even the old Dragon King kneeled outside the bedroom of our little miss, so what of a few small dragons? If Little Miss is willing to step out, the matter would be finished in a matter of minutes!”

The lotus girl sighed. “Could you be less ridiculous with your flattery? The person who awed them so much they kneeled in front of the immortal’s hall for forgiveness wasn’t me, and that immortal’s hall isn’t my bedroom, either; I simply borrowed it temporarily. As for the little dragons below, it would not be any problem for me to stop them if my true body had arrived, but right now I’m nothing more than an avatar….”

Fang Xing’s hands suddenly stopped the massage. “You mean you won’t be able to help then?” he asked with a bitter expression.

The lotus girl shrugged her shoulders to signal him to keep going while replying as though nothing had happened, “Not necessarily. This avatar of mine does have some basic powers, and even though it cannot stop all of them, it would still be enough to save that poor eldest princess if I risked the destruction of this body. Before I do this, however, I need to ask you this very carefully: do you really want me to save her?”

When he heard the lotus girl was able to save the dragon girl, Fang Xing didn’t even bother thinking about anything else and quickly replied, “Yes, of course I want you to save her!”

“Rest assured, Little Miss,” the golden crow added, “even when this body of yours is destroyed, you’ll only need to craft a new one. I, Goldy, vow that when your next avatar forms, I shall help you find all kinds of delicacies within the world to leave you satisfied!”

The lotus girl softly laughed and spoke towards Fang Xing, “But if I were to save her now, no one would be able to save your little life!”

Fang Xing didn’t understand what she meant and paused.

“Do you really think all I do with the two of you is eat?” the lotus girl sneered. “Well… although I do seem to be eating all the time, it doesn’t mean I haven’t been trying to protect your life. The trouble you’ve caused in Jambu, do you really think you were able to escape all of it so easily? Do you know how many Budding Soul Stage cultivators have been using secret techniques to try to find you so far? If you hadn’t formed a tie between us by awakening me early, I wouldn’t be beside you to cover up your presence and you would have been found a total of three times by now!”

Fang Xing was shocked to hear such a thing and his eyes focused entirely on the lotus girl.

The lotus girl’s gluttonous look changed and a serious expression formed between her brows as she softly continued, “Although you disrupted my resurrection that day when you fed me the Blood Lotus Seed, you also helped me avoid being completely lost in the shadows of the nine coffins. Since you helped me get past a calamity, I felt I should help you with one calamity as well. It was the most fair thing to do!”

The lotus girl’s voice was soft, but calm and extremely profound. “Furthermore, you were able to fend off my heart-charming technique despite such a low cultivation, so I felt an interest towards you and want to see what you’ll grow into. I chose for you and this crow to become my servants, and although it is to help me seek delicacies, it is also so you won’t be discovered by those cultivators you aren’t yet strong enough to offend….

“I originally thought you’d at least have the ability to keep yourself alive if I protected you until you formed the golden core, but from the looks of today, that might not be achievable!” As she spoke, her expression chilled. “I certainly can help you save her, and I’m also a little curious about this little dragon of royal blood and don’t want to see her die here either, but if I help her now, you will have to sort out all of the future troubles on your own!”
