Yu Xiangyang glanced at Su Huiqing. With her head slightly lowered, Su Huiqing curled her lips up into a casual smile.
She did not seem any different from usual.
“Grandpa, why did you believe her all of a sudden?” Yu Xiangyang looked at his grandpa, unable to figure him out.
No one understood his grandpa better than him and his other family members. Although his grandpa was a member of a noble family in Green City, he did not seem to take the other noble families seriously. Then again, he was so mysterious and stubborn that even Yu Xiangyang felt that his grandpa must have experienced a hell lot in his life.
Besides, this was the first time he initiated a conversation with a member of another noble family.
He even treated Su Huiqing with so much respect.
Old Master Yu walked down the stairs and gave a light chuckle. Rather than saying that he trusted her, he trusted Su Huiqing’s backing better. For such a young girl to be able to understand the secret language used in international battlefields, she must have had a powerful person backing her up.
“I will get going now, Old Su. If there’s anything you need, the Yu Family will try our best to help you.” Old Master Yu gave a solemn bow to Su Huiqing. “Miss Su, tell this rascal to ask me for help if you ever need any.”
Su Huiqing just continued sitting at a corner with a calm demeanor. She knew that Old Master Yu was thanking her for saving Yu Xiangyang, so she did not feel very strange about it.
Su Huiqing’s nonchalant expression deeply stumped Su Lun and Su Ruohua. The Yu Family was well known for having a weird temperament, yet Old Master Yu treated Qingqing so politely. He even seemed to respect her.
But what was with that nonchalant look on Qingqing’s face?
“Grandpa Yu.” Both of them stared at her in utter disbelief and watched Su Huiqing stand up. She raised her eyes and looked towards Old Master Yu before curling her lips up. “You can call me Qingqing in the future.”
Old Master Yu nodded and bid goodbye to Su Lun and the others before leaving the Su Residences.
All in all, there wasn’t a hint of unhappiness found on his face at all.
It was not until they had left that Su Lun snapped out of his trance. He looked at Su Huiqing in bewilderment. “How did you manage to win that stubborn bull over?”
“Grandpa, such incidents would only increase.” Su Huiqing turned around to face Su Lun while she wore a peaceful expression on her face. “I guess you must have heard what happened earlier from mom. I just need you to trust me. You can walk your dog, water your plants, play chess, and do whatever you like. As for the rest, you don’t have to care.”
She did not respond to his question. Instead, she made him a promise.
Her eyes looked especially dark at that moment.
With one hand stuffed in her pocket and her chin slightly raised, the light made her face look brighter than ever.
Su Lun initially still had a few more questions to ask, but upon seeing the look on her face, he turned speechless. “It’s great that you are becoming more mature now. So, I shall not ask about your little secrets anymore.”
“Thank you, grandpa.” Su Huiqing heaved a sigh of relief and turned her head around. She softly chuckled. “Goodnight, then.”
It terrified her that Su Lun might ask about her abrupt changes since she hadn’t come up with an explanation for that yet. She can’t possibly tell him that the real Su Huiqing was already dead, right? Or that she was Su S, the King of the mercenaries from the International association, right?
Su Lun looked at her figure and felt a little taken aback. “That brat is becoming harder to understand nowadays.”
Even he would get stumped by that brat’s presence at times.
‘Such incidents would only increase.’
What a cool yet confident five words!
“I was too busy recently, so I may have neglected her.” Su Ruohua massaged her temples and sighed. “She surprised me a lot today.”
“Ruohua, Su Zhi contacted me and said that you are not doing well recently.” Upon hearing that, Su Ruohua turned around and gave him a solemn expression. “I know that you are facing a lot of stress. If it gets heavy, I can go back and help you out for a couple of days.”
“Dad, listen to Qingqing and stay at home. Just give me some time to settle it.” Su Ruohua paused for a while. “I just… can’t accept this.”
“Look on the brighter side.” Su Lun patted her shoulders and sighed. “It’s life. Everyone will have such moments, too.”
–
Su Huiqing sat in front of her computer and leaned backward while placing her hand on the table.
A dimly lit lamp was switched on in the room.
The computer was switched on, too.
The computer screen covered her entire face, and its dim light masked the expression on her face.
An International Trading Association’s account flashed on the screen. The amount of money on the screen changed from $295,589 to $1,185,477.
She had once sworn that after the stock market crash incident at the International Association, she would not start a stock war again.
Su Huiqing squinted her eyes and reached out to caress her elegant eyebrow. She mumbled, “I hope there will not come a time…”
At a villa in Green City.
“Little Xie, do you think Young Master Yu found Chi Yue? It’s been days since he last contacted us.” Chu Xuning sat on his working desk and asked Xie Zhengyuan while shaking her legs.
Xie Zhengyuan scrolled for the latest news on his computer. “I don’t know. This Chi Yue doesn’t seem good nor bad. Back then, a hacker stole a piece of secret information from the International Association and it started an uproar. That person got Chi Yue to help her, but Chi Yue found the hacker’s information. In the end, Chi Yue sent the hacker to jail.”
“It’s very hard for Young Master Yu to win Chi Yue over.” Xie Zhengyuan lowered his eyes. “After all, if a hacker is bent on hiding his identity. Young Master Yu probably won’t even be able to find him.”
Chu Xuning was moved by Little Xie’s speech.
But when he heard the latter part of Little Xie’s speech, he burst into laughter. “Perhaps Chi Yue did not overhear Young Master Yu’s conversation at all. But Little Xie, let me tell you. There is no one in this world that Young Master Yu would not find, even if that person was a high-ranking hacker.”
Country Z, the capital.
On the busy commercial street.
A young man who was wearing a pair of golden-framed glasses was walking on the streets. He had a slender figure, fair skin, and black hair. He also had deep blue eyes, and he had orderly tied a white ribbon on his wrist.
‘Swoosh!’
A young lady dropped her documents on the floor in a flurry.
He touched his glasses and bent down to pick up a document that landed next to his feet. A shadow suddenly cast over him.
The young man froze and slowly stood up.
The lady had disappeared. But in her place, five strong men dressed in a black suit stood around him.
The man in the middle was the head of the group. He was wearing a black dress shirt while back facing him. Although he could only his back, it was enough to send a chill down his spine.
“Mister, what is the meaning of this?” The young man touched his glasses and his gaze darkened.
“Mr. Chi Yue.” That person turned around. However, he could not see his face clearly because of blinding light from the sun. All he could see was a few glimpses of his smooth and distinct features.
Despite the warmth from the sun, he could feel a cold vibe from him. Perhaps even a hint of elegance.
After he heard that name, the young man placed his hand near his pocket before breaking into a smile. “Sorry, I don’t understand what you are talking about.”
“The explosion that happened at the battlefield in the International Association half a month ago.” Yu Shijin raised his chin and looked towards him with narrowed eyes. “Don’t you want to know how she died?”
His eyes looked deeper than ever. Yet, under the sun, an icy glint flashed past his eyes.
