Qin Hua’s new puppy life was pretty happy and eventless in the next few days.
Thankfully her easy daily quests of eating 5 grams of protein and one hour of moonlight exposure were repetitive and she religiously completed them every day.
Her snow-white fur now had a glossy sheen to it that made her look extremely adorable and cuddly.
She had even gathered enough experience to almost reach Level 1, and physically as well she looked much healthier and chubbier.
However, the same cannot be said for whatever was happening outside. Things were getting crazier by the minute.
The atmospheric temperature had shot up through the roof all of a sudden.
It was even declared a national emergency and people were asked to stay indoors to prevent heatstroke and excessive dehydration.
When the government and other countries were running out of explanations and hypotheses, things unexpectedly cooled down a bit in the past couple of days.
But before anyone could rejoice or even breathe a sigh of relief, something new cropped up.
A series of strange phenomena started appearing in the sky above.
Storm clouds roiled and incessant rain poured out like a maniac from the heavens above.
The weirdest part was that the rain seemed to have some sort of acidic corrosive property to it.
So, the lockdown continued, and everyone reluctantly stayed inside waiting for these mysterious things to clear up.
As if all of this was not enough, Qin Hua suddenly had a brand new headache, the girl next door!
Xu Meilin, a very cheerful bubbly girl, lived right next door to Su Yan and Lu Chen.
The apartment was usually locked because the parents lived abroad and Xu Meilin lived in a girls’ hostel.
But since everything was shut down and people were in total lockdown mode, Xu Meilin had to return to her apartment.
There is an old saying, which typically angers several people. “Everything happens for a good reason.”
In Xu Meilin’s case, this was absolutely true!
Who knew that her favorite streamers and famous heartthrobs Su Yan and Lu Chen literally lived right next to her!!!
Xu Meilin was on cloud nine!
And much to Qin Hua’s dismay, with the excuse of sharing snacks with the new neighbors, she was sitting right in front of her, and that too with a shabby-looking tabby cat on her lap.
She was even proudly showing off that furry animal to the guys.
[Girl, please! How can that rag doll compare with a cutie like me!]
Qin Hua comfortably lazed in Su Yan’s lap and smugly glanced at the cat from time to time.
The guys were too sweet to immediately drive out the intruder.
So, Qin Hua had to begrudgingly listen to almost an hour of awkward flirting and awkward laughing.
But it was not for nothing.
The three humans eventually ended up deciding to put their beloved pets together for a play session and huzzah! Qin Hua received a new quest!
The cat meowed and curiously walked next to the small puppy, looking up and down at the little white furball.
At the same time, Qin Hua stared at the new quest which had suddenly popped up in front of her.
<Battle mode activated>
<Player vs Player Quest: Defeat the Level 1 tabby cat>
<Reward: 100 Experience points>
Qin Hua looked at the quest with her mouth agape. The damn cat bastard was already level 1??
But she was just at level 0.
Can she really take down that monstrosity with an entire level difference??
Little white stared at the cat in front of her with complex emotions.
Then her eyes fell on the reward, which literally made her drool.
She had been meticulously doing her two daily quests every day with not much progress.
But, just this one quest can take her across the finish line, and she will finally be level1!
How could she afford to miss out on such an obvious cheat?
The cat bastard might already be at Level 1, but she still retained her human mental faculties.
This should at least give her some sort of an upper hand. Right??
Qin Hua slowly wobbled over to the lazy cat, who had by now comfortably settled down in her sacred grounds.
[What a manner less dufus!] Qin Hua gnashed her half-grown teeth.
Too bad her nibble skill still did extremely negligible damage. Otherwise, she could have bitten this rotten bastard.
Qin Hua mustered all the force that she could and slapped the fat ass in front of her.
But the kitty didn’t even lift its head. It just waved its paw like it was swatting a fly.
As if mocking her pathetic attempts, the stupid humans watching this bloodthirsty death match cluelessly aww’ed and ooo’ed in excitement.
Stupid Lu Chen even dared to compliment the cat, “Oh my god. Coco is so adorable. I can’t believe how well these two are getting along with each other.”
Qin Hua rolled her eyes as she tried hitting the cat with her paw a few more times.
But alas, since she was barely one month old, there was nothing much that she could do.
She even tried remembering all the numerous Tom and Jerry episodes from her childhood for some creative ideas, but she was still drawing a blank.
Qin Hua was quickly running out of time.
Only half an hour was left before their usual stream schedule and she knew that these nice guys would probably chase the girl and the cat out before starting their part-time online streaming.
As she was frantically searching here and there, her small beady eyes finally landed on something that could finally give her an upper hand, a small left-over peanut from last night’s dinner!
Xu Meilin had earlier mentioned that Coco was slightly allergic to peanuts. So, this should definitely give her something to work with.
[Sorry buddy. Your owner is right here. So, I am sure you will be alright. Here goes nothing.]
She lit a candle for the tabby cat and flicked the peanut with full force towards the snoozing fur ball.
