Reincarnated as a Dog with System Novel

Chapter 9 - The World Turned Inside Out Part2

The trio sat in front of their flat-screen television almost for the entire day, with their eyes glued to the insanity that was being reported.

The recent unbelievable events were nothing short of astounding.

Apparently, a major portion of the earth’s population suddenly sprouted wings, grew horns, coughed up fires, or even burped out toxic gases.

No one knew what was happening and why this was happening.

Not even the different governments could understand any of these mysterious developments.

After a long time, Su Yan feebly cleared his throat and spoke with a hoarse tone. “Should we head out and get you registered?”

He looked absent-minded as he spoke, with his brain in complete disarray.

Before today, their biggest worry was the college entrance exams and admissions!

And now…

“Bro, don’t worry. Maybe your ability will show up eventually.”

Lu Chen mistakenly comforted his friend, thinking that he was feeling jealous and left out.

Both Little white and Su Yan rolled their eyes simultaneously. This fellow had no sense of awareness whatsoever.

Survival was the most important issue now, who cared if they got abilities or not!

“No, no. I am not worried. As long as I have you, the strong warrior, next to me, what do I have to worry about?” Su Yan wryly chuckled and patted his friend.

Only Qin Hua knew that Su Yan as well possessed a mysterious ability. But right now she was feeling too depressed to say anything.

She had finally gotten lucky in her life and hit the jackpot, getting such a marvelous system ability, but only to have died shortly to become a dog!!

Where was the justice in this??

While she was sulking with her small round eyes glued on the television screen, Su Yan and Lu Chen called up the local health center to fix an appointment.

Since they had mentioned in the news that everybody was rushing towards these registrations, they didn’t want to get involved in a stampede kind of situation.

Also, Su Yan had a very distinct ominous feeling bubbling at the bottom of his heart.

So many new changes had occurred, but how all of those be harmless?

Surely, there was a power imbalance right now.

Moreover, the lack of clear guidelines and more action on the government’s part worried him.

As it is, this situation definitely looked like a free for all kind of situation! Do whatever crime you want, as long as you are capable?

So a part of him wanted to safely lock the doors and stay indoors till everything stabilizes further.

And just as he was dreading, the nearby health care center representative also sounded agitated, confirming his suspicions.

“Yes, we are still open for the registrations. It is crowded here. But the registrations are getting processed fast. So you boys can drop by anytime.”

“And… umm… Take care on your way over here. Some people have reported certain strange events.”

Su Yan’s face instantly stiffened. “If it’s not safe, then do we definitely have to register?”

The representative immediately regretted speaking out of turn.

“Yes, unfortunately, the government requires you to still drop by and get registered after an examination. It is mandatory.”

“Ok.” Su Yan cut the call.

The boys briskly got ready to step outside.

On their way out, Su Yan hesitated, but eventually ended up grabbing a couple of kitchen knives. He shoved one in his bag and the other in his friend’s bag.

Lu Chen was still busy trying to figure out his new powers and absent-mindedly nodded at his friend’s actions.

Locking the doors, Su Yan didn’t forget to grab the sad-looking puppy, and the trio headed outside.

As soon as they stepped outside, Qin Hua promptly received a new daily quest.

<Daily Quest: Outrun your master>

<Reward: 5 experience points>

Excitement flickered in the sad droopy eyes and the fickle-minded puppy was back to her cheerful self.

[YASSSS! Another easy quest. Speed leveling is this missy’s favorite pass time.]

Qin Hua grinned and nudged herself free from Su Yan’s warm cozy grasp.

She directly jumped down on the ground and started running helter-skelter around the corridor.

[Mu Ha Ha Ha. Catch me if you can, you lazy video game nerds.]

Black lines covered Su Yan’s forehead as he ran behind the naughty puppy, trying to grab the little furball.

Qin Hua’s soft white cheeks puffed and her little body jiggled as she used all of her small figure’s strength to run around at full speed.

She nimbly evaded her monster master a couple of times before the successful quest notification eventually sounded.

<Congratulations. Daily quest complete>

<5 Experience points have been rewarded>
