Retired Villainess Transmigrates into a Cannon Fodder Novel

Chapter 56

Suddenly, Ye Chen received a phone call from Ye Zhenhong, asking how his conversation with Chu Xiang went. Ye Chen replied, irritated, “She doesn’t intend to talk to me as she’s still angry at me. With how she has Xiao Han by her side now, how would she be willing to talk to me? When Chu Xiang was still with me in the past, she would never have gotten close to any other guy.”

“You better find a way to deal with the consequences of your own actions. Our company’s business is not a joke. Since the bidding is about to begin, you better hurry up and convince Chu Xiang to give up the bid.”

“Alright, I know what Chu Xiang likes, and I will definitely get her back. Then, there will be nothing left for us to worry about. Even if she does snatch away the bid, we are all family in the end. Stop worrying about such unnecessary things,” Ye Chen said, still believing from the bottom of his heart that Chu Xiang would end up back with him.

Even if he really did hurt her feelings before, surely there was enough love remaining from their years together that she would be willing to grant him forgiveness if he lowered his head and asked her for it. Ye Chen was confident that he could bring her back to his side, but the main problem was the time element.

Since Ye Chen was not allowed to interact with or even get close to Chu Xiang in the university, he then parked his sports car near the entrance and stood there, waiting for her. By blocking the path out, she would inevitably have to run him over in order to leave. At that time, he would then give her a bouquet of roses.

When Chu Xiang realized Ye Chen’s plan, she stared at him from her car with a cold, menacing gaze. Without hesitation, she stomped down on her accelerator and drove directly into Ye Chen’s car.

Scared out of his wits, Ye Chen avoided her car by a hair’s breadth as Chu Xiang sped past him without any intentions of slowing down. Looking down at the flower petals scattered all over the road, he kicked the tire of his car in rage before ordering another bouquet to be sent to the Dongfang Group.

Ye Chen remained persistent in his pursuit of Chu Xiang. Every day, he would never fail to send flowers for her at school. And then after school, he would send yet another bouquet to her office, in addition to a set of afternoon tea. At this point, news of Ye Chen pursuing the daughter of the Chu Family all over again spread like wildfire. Despite his constant gifts, Chu Xiang was never willing to accept any of them and she simply gave everything to her classmates or co-workers.

During the week of the final exam, Bai Xuewei saw just how passionate and determined Ye Chen was in chasing after Chu Xiang. Intensely jealous, she couldn’t concentrate during her exam, and since she hadn’t been studying diligently either these past few days, she naturally bombed the exam.

As she glanced to the other side of the classroom, she saw how Chu Xiang was answering the exam questions calmly, unfazed by the questions she herself found difficult. Why did it seem like their positions were now reversed? At this point, Bai Xuewei could only stare menacingly at her and sulk over her conundrum; she did not, however, dare provoke Chu Xiang anymore. Besides, even if she tried to, Chu Xiang would ignore her while the plan would somehow backfire.

It was as if only the ones who cared would be affected while the ones who didn’t would always stay out of the matter.

While Bai Xuewei did not deliberately pick a seat where she would be in the sight of Ye Chen, she did, on the other hand, pretend to let him see her inadvertently. By doing these acts in a low-key manner, she technically would not be disturbing them in any way.

When the instructor saw how Ye Chen immediately drove outside of the school to wait for Chu Xiang again, he could not help but shake his head and let out a heavy sigh. With how small the education system is, the teachers didn’t actually care much about their students’ personal lives. While there may be set rules and regulations, the university would simply turn a blind eye to the actions of their students as long as they didn’t cross the line.

This particular love triangle, however, has become a rather big problem as it has become a hot topic of discussion both inside and outside of the university. Furthermore, there have been rumors stating how Bai Xuewei sold her body in exchange for a mere apartment. Although the university had already clarified that such a scandal didn’t exist, it was unlikely that the students would believe the words of a school that valued its reputation over anything else.

Moreover, Chu Xiang had clearly stated how she no longer wanted to interact with them. As a matter of fact, she had previously accused them of constant harassment and even asked the university to lay down their hammer. Not only had they seriously violated the rules set by the university, but their influence had even affected the rest of the students. Despite receiving warnings, they still have yet to learn their lesson; instead deciding to make things even worse. How shameless can these students be?

Though it may not be easy to expel these troublemakers, the university could still persuade them to “voluntarily” drop out — as far as their mistakes are concerned. After thinking long and hard about this annoying situation, the instructor decided to discuss it with the dean as they could not simply keep things the way they currently are.
