[Bad habits are difficult to change. Back then, she had already stooped low as a woman and abandoned her career to chase after money. Even now, she is still looking for another rich man to rely on. To think she even claimed that she wanted to come out of retirement. Now, we all know that everything was simply to attract the attention of the media. She’s simply spiraling deeper into the rabbit hole.]
The haters had been itching to vent all their feelings of hatred onto Chu Xiang. Without the need of any hired spammers, the sea of haters had already drowned the comments of the people who wanted to support Chu Xiang.
There was even someone who posted an image comparing Chu Xiang with Mo Xinru. The image included the frail appearance of Chu Xiang during her stay in the hospital and the appearance of Mo Xinru with a graceful smile in her light makeup. Needless to say, the winner of that comparison was as clear as day. As the image spread through the web, the comparison was imprinted deep into the impressions of the public that Chu Xiang was far inferior to Mo Xinru when it came to their looks.
The sentence, “No man would choose someone like Chu Xiang,” quickly became a popular meme.
Upon looking at the news, Chu Xiang could not help but burst into laughter.
Zhou Ye stared at her in astonishment. “How can you laugh after being bashed by your haters? What’s so funny about it?”
Taking a look at those hate comments from a different perspective, Chu Xiang replied with a smile, “Isn’t it interesting how I’m already the center of attention before even officially coming out of retirement? Aren’t the haters the ones who understand my dynamics even more than my true fans? Just think about it. I’m not even doing anything, but countless people have already been attracted to me.”
“This is my first time hearing something like this from such a perspective. Miss Chu has such an odd train of thought. If you continue to act this way in the entertainment industry, your story will surely be passed down as a legend.” Zhou Ye’s lips curled up into a smile as he drove into the headquarters of Glorious Star Entertainment. “In that case, the PR department will be dealing with the situation in the future. Don’t worry, my PR department is an extremely capable bunch.”
Chu Xiang shrugged. “No worries. Besides, President Zhou will also be getting bashed along with me, so I will have nothing to lose. Since everyone is saying how no man will choose to be with me, I really look forward to the day when they’re forced to eat their own words.”
Zhou Ye led her into the elevator. “Could you possibly have been training your acting skills in the past year of living in the Lin family? As far as my knowledge goes, you did not make a name for yourself as an actor before initially retiring as a celebrity.”
Chu Xiang chuckled, “Perhaps I really have been doing just that in the past year. President Zhou, I would like to sign as an A-list actor and will certainly not disappoint the company.”
“The longer I interact with Miss Chu, the more expectations I have for you. I hope you will continue to be this interesting.” His brilliant gaze swept through her. After leading Chu Xiang to the guest room, he then asked his secretary to prepare the contract.
The specific contract was a year-long contract for A-list actors with the profits divided fifty-fifty between the contractor and actor. According to the contract, the company would allocate a team of elites to assist Chu Xiang with her development as an actor. Even the manager assigned to her was the most capable in Glorious Star Entertainment who had handled many different celebrities in the past, Uncle Dong.
Uncle Dong — currently 45 years old — had raised the popularity of three actresses, two actors, and even two other singers in his years in the entertainment circle. Since he was getting older, however, he had been working even harder and would be retiring after raising an Oscar-worthy actor in Glorious Star Entertainment.
Before meeting Chu Xiang in person, he first headed to the office and asked Zhou Ye out of curiosity, “President Zhou seems to have high expectations for Chu Xiang. May I ask the reason for that?”
Seated in his spinning chair, Zhou Ye thought about it for a moment. “I guess she’s an amusing person to say the least. If I had not met her in person today, I would certainly have found her demands for the company to be extremely baffling. I believe you have already taken a good look at her profile, right? It’s so-so. After meeting her in person, however… I believe she possesses a magical attractiveness as if she had just emerged stronger after her period of constant struggle. I have a feeling that she will take the whole world by surprise.”
“Alright! I trust President Zhou’s insight and will put great emphasis on her development.”
Chu Xiang’s circumstances were indeed special. Since it would be a great challenge to raise her popularity, Zhou Ye’s words have once again ignited Uncle Dong’s desire that had remained dormant for the longest time. As such, he decided that Chu Xiang would be the final celebrity he would raise before ultimately retiring as a manager.
