Time flew by as Damien and Reva went into closed seclusion to cultivate and absorb the gains they had reaped during their battle against Yohr.
Damien had increased his cultivation too much in a short while, and there was a good need for him to stabilize his foundation and make sure he wouldn’t face any problems in the future.
As for Reva, she had to absorb the divine soul essence that was taken from Yohr and push her soul’s development closer to divinity by at least one step.
By now, Xeton Empire had branded Damien as a terrorist as well along with the entire Forsaken and was the number one on the list to be hunted down. And due to the Xeton Empire’s influence, they were also able to persuade the Gale Empire and even the Lancaster Empire to do the same.
As for the Rong Empire, the empress, Olivia Rong, was the most willing to put out a large bounty on Damien’s head and also to instruct her royal soldiers to remain vigilant for Damien’s appearance.
And now, all the emperors, including the empress, were preparing to meet together as part of the Rising Sun Annual Convention. This was the biggest convention where important parties from all the empires met together, including the imperial families.
Meanwhile, in the Rong Empire,
*BANG! BANG!*
“Lily, you better come out of that room, or I will drag you out!” Olivia Rong fumed as she banged hard on the door. She wanted to hear confirmation from Lily that she would be coming for the Rising Sun Annual Convention.
“Go away! I am not going to come with you for the convention,” Lily’s teary yet determined voice sounded from the inside.
Her words only made Olivia frown as she said with a snarl, “Hmph, I should have known better than the daughter of a wench would fall for someone with a blood no different than that of a street rat. Don’t you have any shame, girl? Disgracing your bloodline and our empire. It is already a miracle that the people don’t know about it and if they do, our empire’s name will be dragged through the mud while you still get to stay cozy inside. Can you imagine the shame I had to endure when I heard from the Xeton Emperor himself about that brat roaming right under our noses for a while?”
“You only care about yourself, and don’t you dare talk about him like that. He is not someone you are even worthy of talking about,” Lily said, her voice taut, though she couldn’t stop being worried about Damien, especially since she had no idea about his whereabouts.
Olivia Rong only felt even more infuriated hearing her words as she sneered, “Ha! That brat is the most wanted man in the entire continent, and we all know that he is going to die a dog’s death once he is caught, and that is considering he didn’t die somewhere in some street.”
“Stop it!”
“You better stop holding feelings towards that traitor! It is already a miracle the Xeton Emperor is not angry at us despite knowing about your relationship with Damien. In fact, he would have held the tournament earlier if it not for that stupid agreement. But since your virginity is still intact, he is not moving against us, and seeing your progress only made him more satisfied,” Olivia clenched her teeth as she said this, feeling jealous about Lily’s stagger increase in her cultivation during the past few months.
But she had no idea that Lily was dead set on increasing her cultivation just like Damien told her to so that she would no longer be a burden to him but become someone who can support him and provide him help if he needed it, especially in a time like this.
Unfortunately, she wasn’t powerful enough yet to break herself free from the shackles Olivia had put on her.
Olivia continued, “Otherwise, we would probably get branded as a traitor empire just because you couldn’t prevent yourself from spreading your legs for a peasant. At least you are not that stupid, and even if something like that happened, then I would throw you out for all those wolves to let them do as they please with you.”
She was even more shocked when she learned that the number one enemy of the Xeton Empire had served under Lily for a while before leaving. She was now feeling even more threatened by Lily due to the immense progress she was making to the point she couldn’t help but be jealous of her constitution.
However, Ruthren seemed to be only pleased by Lily’s progress and couldn’t wait for the tournament to take place.
“So if you don’t come with me, then I will make sure to destroy your mother’s grave and all the places she used to frequent!” Olivia said in a corrosive tone.
“You wouldn’t dare!” Lily couldn’t endure it any longer as she shouted in anger and a brilliant white light suddenly diffused in the room, making Olivia stumble back in fright unconsciously.
Olivia’s eyes were widened like saucers and were quivering with shock upon feeling the power being that light. It was so powerful she felt as if every inch of her body would get obliterated had she been inside the room!
For a moment, she even lost the voice to speak or even think, unable to process the shock. How could an empress like her get dwarfed by the child of some lowly woman?
“Get out of my way!” An old man’s voice boomed from outside as the large doors of the hall opened, and Olivia’s expression tightened on seeing an old man with a long white beard and frail body coming in. However, even if his body looked frail, his face and gaze had a majestic and mighty aura, making even her not dare to meet his gaze.
After all, he was none other than the ancestor of the Rong Empire, Marvin Rong.
“Olivia, you should leave. I will talk with Lily and convince her to come,” Marvin said in a stern tone, making Olivia clear her throat as she left in a huff.
Marvin then sighed as he knocked on Lily’s door, “Child…can you hear this old man out?”
