‘I don’t know if he just bluffed, if he’s a smurf who knows a lot about this game, or if he knows me, but I’m going to teach this guy a good lesson.’ Kerplunk thought as he watched Kaizen take some distance.
This situation was exactly what Kaizen wanted when he provoked the arrogant leader of the unknown group. He knew it would be complicated to defeat four players with attributes as high as his in a serious fight, exhausted and with a heavyweight debuff. It was not impossible; however, Kaizen did not want to risk losing or dying with a Mutant Rating dagger in his inventory.
Now, all Kaizen needed to do was fight and trust in honor of these users not to interfere in the 1X1.
When Kaizen got the distance he wanted, he stopped and pointed his spear forward.
Kerplunk was looking severe now. He couldn’t know how strong his enemy was, but like a good boxer, he raised his guard, positioning his fists at about nose height. Then he began to bounce around like a boxer as he quickly moved toward his opponent.
Kaizen had the complete advantage in this situation. He was using a medium-range weapon, while his enemy didn’t even have a weapon.
However, a doubt bothered Kaizen like a flea behind his ear.
He looked with the <Analyzing Eye> at Kerplunk’s profile. Kaizen knew that his enemy was a boxer, which made it very strange that Kerplunk did not have his points focused mostly on strength.
Perhaps he had not focused on that to focus on agility attributes? Kaizen couldn’t answer that decision’s intent, but Kerplunk was a complete novice at MMORPGs if that was the case.
As Kerplunk approached, quickly swinging his back left and right, he thought:
‘I want to see you get me! I want to see you hit me! As soon as you try, I will dodge with my high agility and use my Class Skill <Uppercut Explosive>… Hehehe! I am unstoppable!’
A pernicious smile appeared on the muscular bald man’s face as if he could predict what his enemy would do.
Kaizen had played hundreds of hours of MMORPGs with the most diverse classes, and as much as it had been almost a decade since that time, the concepts of each class were still ingrained in his memory, so he knew what he should do against each type of opponent.
The current enemy was a boxer, and the worst possible thing for Kaizen to do would be to let him get close. Kaizen didn’t know enough of Rise Online to say what Kerplunk would do after that with such normal strength attributes, but he didn’t want to take a risk either.
During Kerplunk’s technical onslaught, he suddenly felt his whole body grow heavier and slower, shifting his focus for a second. That brief moment was enough for Kaizen to kill him.
Stretching the spear forward with as much as his wingspan could provide, Kaizen spun the spear towards the boxer’s chest, managing to go through him with magnitude.

Kaizen’s left wrist rotated to the left during the attack. This created the rotation effect of the spear tip, which provided possible multiple attacks and critical damage instead of just one.
“… What?” Liziel watched the scene and went into shock.
Onboard was incredulous as well. “Why didn’t you dodge, boss!!! You were so fast!”
“Damn you!” The archer, who was standing by watching everything from afar, was furious to see his boss successfully struck.
The curly-haired woman immediately took the longbow from the ground and two arrows from the quiver. With a proficiency that not even Kaizen had, she held one of the arrows by the shaft with her right hand, positioned the other on the bowstring, and shot it. The arrow crossed the chamber at breathtaking speed.
This happened in a split second, so Kaizen still had his hands full, holding the spear stuck in Kerplunk’s chest as the arrow flew toward him. Despite this, he steadied his feet on the ground with more momentum than before and, using his strength attributes to the fullest, moved the spear across the boxer to the left.
*Tchak!*
The arrow shot by the archer was stopped by the back of the bald man, who howled in pain at the same time.
“Argghhhhh!”
Kerplunk barely had time to understand how he had been hit by Kaizen and already saw the warning screen about his death.
“Fuck! You smurf son of a bitch…” He muttered and then crumbled into checkered particles in the air.
When the archer saw the warning that her group member had died from friendly fire. The lady clicked her tongue angrily, closed her left eye to focus her right eye’s vision a little more, and gently released the bowstring that already held the second arrow. The characteristic whirring sound of an arrow launching was picked up by Kaizen’s ears, but he did not even turn to look where the arrow had come from.
No archer was much of a threat to Kaizen if he knew where arrows might come from. After all, he had <Telekinesis>.
As Kaizen began his run by spinning the Spear of Theus against Liziel and Onboard, the archer watched her arrow literally stop in midair and fall to the ground like it was nothing. She could not believe her eyes and shot another arrow.
During this movement, she saw Liziel being decapitated by a spin of Theus’ Spear.

Kaizen heard the voice in his head warn him about the results of his latest blow.
Just as with the previous arrow, the third arrow fired by the archer was stopped in midair by a mysterious force and then fell to the ground.
‘What is it? What the fuck is going on here? I’m sure it wasn’t him because…’ The archer was beginning to go into despair, and, at that moment, the third consecutive warning about deaths appeared in the corner of her screen.
[The ‘Onboard’ member of your group was killed].
‘I have to get out of here! I have to get out of here!’ The archer, the only remaining in the group, concluded as she watched her partners die.
Immediately, she put away her bow in her inventory and started running towards the large front door. Her breathing was heavy, and she was panting with desperation.
Kaizen looked at the running woman and reflected:𝓞𝒱𝐞𝔩xt.𝗇𝓔t
‘That’s a surrender, isn’t it? Should I let her run away as a gesture of good faith? I don’t know. They are the ones who attacked me first and don’t seem to be very important. Would I gain anything by sparing her? Ah, fuck it!’
Holding the spear in his right hand, he raised the weapon to his shoulder and threw it with all the force he had.
Theus’ Spear flew through the Medullar Forge, looking like a guide aiming for its prey, and when it hit the archer, the woman shattered in midair before the tip of the spear even dug into the ground.
