“I have to take revenge and kill the people who made life my a living hell,” Leon asserted in a disdainful tone.
Tania realized what Leon was talking about since he had told her a few things about himself and his childhood that no one knew about.
“And what after that?” Tania asked. “Once you have taken revenge, will you stop killing everyone?”
“No. I exist to kill!”
Tania furrowed her brows at Leon and said, “Then maybe I shouldn’t help you recover.
“….” Leon didn’t say anything and simply glared at Tania.
“Don’t look at me like that. I want you to live like a normal boy,” Tania stated with a serious look on her face. “Maybe it’s for the best that this happened to you.”
“I already told you I have to take revenge—”
“I heard that when you said it for the first time.” Tania let out a weary sigh and said, “I will take care of it. If I tell my sister, she can have them all killed in one day.”
“…”
Tania stared at Leon with a judging look on her face and asked, “Tell me, do you want me to handle this? But in return, you will stop killing and live your life as a normal boy.”
Leon pondered for a while and muttered, “No. I want to kill them with my own hands.”
SIGH!
Tania sighed and said, “Then I can ask my sister to keep them alive. You can kill them without your own hands.”
“…”
“How does that sound?”
“I want to hunt them down. I want to see the despair on their faces. I want to show them fear.” Leon started speaking in a monotonous tone because he wasn’t sure what he should do.
Tania was giving him a chance to end everything for him. But Leon couldn’t stop killing. He didn’t want to stop doing the very thing he was good at.
Leon shook his head and said, “Are you going to help me cure me? Otherwise, I would go to someone else.”
“I am going to help you, obviously!” Tania took out her phone and said, “Let’s go. I got a tip.”
“From whom?” Leon asked with a confused look on his face. “And where are we going?”
“Tina is the number one assassin in my syndicate, so she gets many quests to kill.” After a brief pause, she continued, “When you called me last night, I had asked her to send me the locations of the nearest whereabouts of the enemy gangs.”
“There is one nearby, so we are going to go and kill them all,” Tania stated with a shoulder drug.
They went to the location and jumped off a tall wall.
Leon landed without any problem because he was superhuman and he had gotten used to jumping from tall places. However, Tania was just a human, but she was also used to it since she was also an assassin.
Leon landed on his feet, and so did Tania. But she stumbled a little and placed her hand on her stomach for some reason.
Leon turned to Tania and asked, “Are you okay?”
Tania nodded and said, “It’s been a few weeks since I did something. So I am a little out of practice.”
They walked further down and saw a few men guarding a tunnel. Inside the tunnel, there was a warehouse where several men were guarding it with weapons in their hands.
“According to Tina, there should be around 20-30 men inside,” Tania asserted.
“But… I can’t kill. What if I get you into trouble?” Leon asked with an anxious look on his face.
“Heh!” Tania walked into the tunnel after saying, “You should worry about yourself.”
Tania dashed to the two guards guarding the door of the warehouse and yelled, “Hey, you lambs!”
The guards turned around to look at Tania, but Tania flashed a bright light on their faces, making them unable to see.
The guards started firing without seeing anything, but they missed all the shots.
Soon, they were out of bullets, and they needed to reload. Tania chose that time to melee-kill both of the guards by snapping their necks.
“…”
Tania grabbed the key from the guard’s pocket and showed it to Leon.
“You were saying something?!” she yelled.
Leon sighed and walked into the warehouse with Tania.
“What is this place?” Leon asked Tania as he glanced around with a curious look on his face.
“It’s from an organization that has grown a lot in the underworld ranking. They are selling drugs to high schoolers and university students,” Tania whispered. “Making them addicted to it then increases the drug’s prices. Those who can afford it buy it, but those who can’t afford it get desperate for it.”
“That’s when they give them an offer: join our organization, and you will get a free supply of drugs every day,” Tania mumbled quietly. “Then they give them tasks and make them commit crimes.”
“So their entire organization is filled with young blood?” Leon asked.
“Yeah,” Tania nodded and pointed her gaze at the guard who was walking alone for patrol duty.
“Can you take him out?” Tania asked.
“My body won’t move as soon as I get near him,” Leon sighed and said, “I can’t…”
“You don’t have to kill him. Just knock him out. Clear your brain and throw away all the killing intent. That should do the work, right?”
Leon placed his hands on his chin and said, “I haven’t tried it. But maybe… it should work.”
Leon stealthily got behind the guard and raised his fist to knock him out. But just as his hand was about to touch the guard, it stopped.
“…!”
The guard noticed the shadow and turned out to look at Leon.
“…!” He turned around his gun and moved his finger to the trigger to shoot Leon.
Leon couldn’t do anything. Yes, he could run, but that wouldn’t change the fact that he would get shot.
SHOT!
“…!”
It was Tania, and she had shot the guard to save Leon.
Luckily, the shot was silenced, and it didn’t make any noise.
However, the guard’s body fell down with a thud, causing a loud noise.
All the remaining guards entered the room with weapons in their hands and surrounded Tania and Leon.
“…”
