Shinobi From Hell Novel

Chapter 27 - Choices Made

Dant put forth his idea and what he believed. The idea of moving onto the next stage that he put forth seemed stupid at first buy now?

He had a point there, a valid one at that. And he had credibility too. They watched him talking with Klautz, and they also witnessed Klautz’s mad laughter. It doesn’t require a genius to figure out what that laughter meant. The laughter was full of mockery. It was as if a giant was laughing at an ant.

The man with the axe had no words to refute. He was having second thoughts. He turned around to his teammates. The two other men who also fought with him were in a bad state. One was bleeding through several orifices while he held onto his sword. The other one didn’t even have a working arm left with him. During the last battle it got crushed by the serpant. The injured arm dangled in the air and he had also lost his weapon to the boss battle.

Noticing the state of the other two he shook his head. ‘No, don’t event think about it,’ he reminded himself.

How can he choose to continue when his two teammates badly needed leeway to recuperate? They had fought tooth and nail with him. It was just that he was lucky and escaped any major injuries. If he had been in their shoes would he have wanted them to do the same? Never! He shook his head as he drove the thought of agreeing with Dant away.

It was then…

“Okay, I will come with you,” the woman standing beside Dant confirmed. She had a bow and a quiver on her signifying that she was the archer of the group. That’s why she suffered little to no injuries. She wore a blue denim that spanned upto her knees. Her hands and feet exposed.

With long legs, she stood tall. Her blonde hair, dishevelled from the last fight, fell up to her chest which had the perfect curve complementing with her hair to give an alluring charm.

“Thank you, Verona,” Dant replied. His lips arched to a smile with the comfort of someone supporting his idea.

All of them turned to Verona to confirm what they just heard was right. But the next moment few of them shrugged. The reason why Verona supports Dant’s idea was pretty obvious to them after all both of them are family. If so why won’t Verona support him? But even if she supports him it doesn’t mean anything. To the three members of the group moving onto the next stage was a big no-no.

They still decided to stand on their ground. After all, the majority was on their side.

“I am still against it, both I and my friends need time to recuperate.”

Dant was troubled too. He couldn’t help but scratch his head. He had confidence the Verona would support him from the very start. As such Verona supporting him now didn’t brought him any relief. What he truly wanted was at least one of their’s support so that he can take over by majority. Kristie was right majority wasn’t on his side.

‘Seems like it didn’t work.’

Dant hadn’t realized that Klautz had walked close to him. After all he was facing the other way, opposite to Klautz. But the same wasn’t true for the others who turned their attention to him. To them Klautz looked really pissed for some reason.

“Are you done? I don’t have all day to wait. I am leaving if you guys don’t wanna come,” Klautz said.

The sudden deep voice made Dant jump in surprise. It took him a moment to get back his composure.

“Yeah, we are almost done, we need just a minute.” He squeaked.

Klautz raised his brows.

“It better be just a minute.” Klautz scanned the group with a cold stare. They froze at their places from his deathly stare. After scanning them all, Klautz walked away not minding the group who were now in chaos.

*Gulp*

Dant gulped.

Everyone had their doubts cleared. The suspicion that they had regarding the truth behind Dant’s words were all nulified. They now know what he said was true and also what Klautz wants. Also, they had a deep image implanted of KLautz. Some even felt fear from him. His deathly stare etched deep into the corners of their heart. How could they even forget that face?
