‘Huf huf’

Lucas was following his routine exercises in his training room.

‘Kacha’

All of a sudden, Lucas heard a sound come from his body, making him close his eyes.

‘Ha’

In the next moment, Lucas’ body was covered in a halo as he enjoyed the feeling with his eyes closed.

At the same time, Lucas felt his strength increasing as he felt his body become lighter, faster and stronger along with his reflexes.

‘Finally, I broke through to the tier 5 general knight and tier 5 general assassin.’

The halo disappeared after a few moments as Lucas revealed a slight smile on his face as he fell to the ground.

‘It’s been a month to reach tier 5 in both professions. Looks like it’s time to pay another visit to the Myriad primordial forest.’

While lying on the ground, Lucas looked at the ceiling as he muttered to himself; however, from the looks of it, he was not going to stand up anytime soon.

He recalled everything he did during the past month as he looked at the ceiling of the room.

It’s been a month since the Silverstone town was upgraded into a Silverstone city by the heavens.

During the past month, Lucas mainly did three things.

One, organize the power structure of the Hellmore family and the Silverstone city.

Two, train in the Knight training hall and the Assasin training hall.

Three, more training in the myriad primordial forest to increase his ranks for the two professions ‘Knight’ and ‘Assasin’

Even his ranking in the Mage profession also increased by a couple of tiers; it is yet to break into the General rank and Lucas focused more on Kight and Assasin profession because he felt they were much easier.

‘Since it’s been a month, the system’s upgrade might be finished anytime now.’

Because his system was currently upgraded, Lucas was unable to access any of its features.

He can’t enter the [Fighter arena] to earn gold coins and other rewards.

He can’t use the [Exchange platform] to exchange the items with the other system holders.

He can’t even take out any items he stored in the inventory.

Overall, Lucas felt like he lost some part of his soul when he was unable to communicate with the system.

Nevertheless, since he could not use the system, he made himself very busy with the regulars.

‘I wonder how Beck is managing the conquest of the towns and villages in the Barren firmament.’

Next, he thought about Beck whom he put in charge of making the other towns swear their loyalties to the Hellmore family.

Compared to King Aston, Lucas was even more aggressive in his conquest to become the true king of the Barren firmament.

King Aston only focused on the families that gained recognition and status from the heavens; however, Lucas ordered Beck that every town and village around the Silverstone city should swear their loyalty to the Hellmore family.

Even if she had to destroy the villages and towns, Lucas had given her full permission to do whatever she wanted. Of course, Beck used the underhanded tricks to escape heaven’s punishment.

Even though Lucas had some heaven’s challenge stones and he could kill the Dukes and anyone below Duke status, Lucas was not planning to use those chances in the Barren firmament as he already decided to use it for the other firmaments.

‘With Harper’s intelligence and Reece’s battle technique, she will not have a hard time.’

Lucas only thought about Beck for a while and stopped worrying about her when he thought about Harper and Reece.

‘Before the system is upgraded, I will go and visit the lizard and feel the heavenly power.’

All of a sudden, Lucas stood up and with a thought, he disappeared from his place.

Since he is the city leader of the Silverstone city, Lucas was the god in it as long as the barrier around the city is intact.

Other than his daily training, he would daily pay a visit to the guardian lair, which is the home to the shadow dragon that became the first heaven ranked spirit beast in the Barren firmament.

Even though the shadow dragon became the heaven ranked spirit beast, the heavens didn’t make it the King of the Barren firmament as King Aston expected because the shadow dragon had a master and naturally can’t become the king of the Barren firmament.

If King Aston knew about it, he might have not attacked the Silverstone town and lost his life and everything in Lucas’ hands.

‘Swoosh’

“Lizard, I am here for the daily massage from your heavenly power.”

As soon as he appeared in the guardian’s lair, Lucas shouted out loud, waking up the shadow dragon from its slumber.

“I was thinking you forgot to  come today…sigh.”

However, Shadow dragon showed dissatisfaction when it saw Lucas appear in front of it.

“Stop saying that daily and release the heavenly power.”

Lucas scoffed at the shadow dragon as he continued, “Also, stop sighing already. I know that the more heavenly power you spend, the more beneficial it will be for you. So, I am letting you use me to spend your heavenly power.”

Even though Lucas acted like he was mocking and scolding the shadow dragon, he was just not good at showing his emotions.

Moreover, Lucas would never force his spirit beasts to do something that harms them.

Even the shadow dragon knew about this as it released the purple smoke from his body.

‘Swoosh’

The purple smoke was none other than the heavenly power that helps Lucas in clearing the impurities from his body while increasing his physical strength.

Since the system was not available at the moment, Lucas was unable to calculate how much his gains were, he was sure about one thing and his physical strength was definitely increasing at an incredible speed.

‘If my guess is right, even the tier 3 higher knights can’t break my physical defence.’

Even though Lucas already has a [Rapid regeneration skill], he wanted his physical strength to be high.

“By the way, what do you think of Star lynx? Will it break through the rank 5 and become a Heaven ranked spirit beast just like you?”

While enjoying the heavenly power from the shadow dragon’s body, Lucas asked the shadow dragon about the star lynx.

After its challenge with King Aston was over, the star lynx appeared in the Silverstone city; however, its entire body was covered by some crystalline material in the form of a star.

From Shadow dragon, Lucas learned that it was undergoing a major evolution and the day it opened its eyes, it would undergo the lightning tribulations to become a Heaven ranked spirit beast.

So, of course, Lucas was excited about it as he daily inquired about the star lynx which was currently in the guardian lair.

“I don’t know, master. The longer it takes, the more powerful it will become when it opens its eyes.”

The shadow dragon was also not sure about it as its heavenly power was unable to penetrate into the star crystal.

“Okay.”

Lucas nodded his head as he changed the topic, “So, how is your learning of the heavenly rule going on?”

Once a being entered the heaven rank, they could collect the heavenly power directly from the heavens.

However, the most important thing that made heaven ranked beings so powerful was their understanding of the heavenly rules.

As long as they comprehend a heavenly rule, they could be considered as the true Heaven’s apostle. Heavenly rules differ from one being to another and even among humans, it would be different.

Lucas didn’t have a single bit of information about the Heavenly rules inside his head and he only heard about them from the shadow dragon. Also, the shadow dragon itself didn’t have much information on the heavenly rules. So, Lucas could only wait until the shadow dragon learns a heavenly rule of its own.

“I think it will take some time. But, my understanding about the heavenly rule is getting better.”

There was a proud look in the shadow dragon’s eyes as it replied to Lucas.

“Stop being proud. There is an upcoming invasion on the Barren firmament by the evil beings. You need to learn the heavenly rule; otherwise, it might be a disaster for us.”

Lucas rubbed the little head of the cosmic devouring snake that was wrapped around his finger as he replied to the shadow dragon.

“Master, why are you bringing that little thing whenever you are visiting me?”

Shadow dragon showed hints of fear in its eyes when its eyes landed on the small snake as it complained.

“It is such a nice pet to have around and easy to bring it around. So, of course, I will bring it around.’

Lucas revealed an evil smile on his face as he replied to the shadow dragon.

“Also, you are a great heaven ranked spirit beast and how could you fear such a tiny thing which is just a rank 4 spirit beast?”

Lucas knew that the shadow dragon fears the cosmic devouring snake for some reason. So, he teased the shadow dragon by intentionally bringing the small snake around.

“Why will I fear such a small thing?”

Shadow dragon tried to suppress its fear as it shook its head before saying, “Fine. Do as you wish.”

‘Ding,

          The system has successfully upgraded to 2.0. New features are added to the system along with the modification in the existing features.

All of a sudden, a system notification appeared in Lucas’ head.
