“Thanks for saving me and my sister.”
“Thud”
Just as Lucas was about to rush towards Logan to kill him, Logan thanked him in a weak voice before falling to the ground.
“Brother”
Seeing that, Luna rushed towards Logan and started crying.
“Silly girl, I am still alive. Just tired.”
Logan revealed a slight smile on his face as he weakly said to his sister as he continued saying, “I will take some rest.”
By saying that, Logan closed his eyes as he stopped breathing anymore.
“Brother.”
Luna felt her entire world fall apart when she saw the lifeless body of her brother in her arms.
“This is all my fault…my fault.”
“If I had not been adamant on entering the dungeon, he would not have come here with me and we could have searched for a fire snake in the Myriad primordial forest.”
“He protected me for his entire life and now he is dead because of me.”
Soon, Luna’s face was entirely covered in tears as she blamed herself for the death of her brother.
‘…’
Lucas was speechless when he saw Logan die before he could kill him; however, after seeing the bloodied clothes on Logan, Lucas knew that Logan was just hanging onto his life just for his sister.
Once the members from the weapons pavilion were killed by Lucas, Logan felt some kind of relief and felt his sister was safe.
“If you want, I can send you to your brother.”
Lucas slowly walked towards the crying Luna as he asked her.
Lucas didn’t feel a single thing in his heart even after seeing the crying Luna because he had seen far worse things than the current one in his past life and his heart turned into stone.
“Huh?”
Luna looked at Lucas with tears in her eyes with confusion.
Generally, people would try to console her in this situation; however, Lucas was asking her whether he should kill her.
“Please do it.”
Nevertheless, she wiped her tears and nodded her head.
“Okay. I will try to make it quick and painless.”
With an emotionless look on his face, Lucas looked at his short swords and said those words.
At least that’s what he could do for her since she is so cooperative.
‘Ding,
A new system mission is generated. Please check it quickly.
Just as he was about to make a quick kill, he got the system notification.
‘I will check it after I kill her.’
Lucas just wanted to kill Luna because only a dead person could keep secrets. So, he didn’t bother to check the mission.
‘Ding,
Mission name:- Protect Luna.
Mission details:- Protect Luna until she leaves the dungeon.
Mission reward:- A favour from the Honorwolf family.
More details:- The Honorwolf family used to be a powerful family; however, their family head was poisoned and the family started falling apart from within and from outside. As long as Luna goes back with the poison gall of the rank 3 fire snake, with the help of already gathered ingredients, an antidote pill can be refined. So, protecting her can gain a powerful ally in the Silverstone town.
Just as he was about to slash Luna’s neck, the system directly sent the mission details, making him stop.
‘Damn it…what was I thinking?’
As soon as he saw the mission details, Lucas hurriedly retracted his short sword before moving away from Luna.
‘I have a family to take care of now. How could I mindlessly follow the same path in my previous life?’
‘I should always think about what is beneficial for the family; instead, killing everyone around him.’
‘No…killing her will keep me safe from the Weapons pavilion until I am powerful enough.’
Lucas clutched his head as he tried to fight back his urge to kill Luna.
His basic instinct was saying suggesting him to kill Luna; however, his newer version of him was stopping him from going back to the same path of mindless killing.
Killing the members of the Weapon pavilion seemed nothing wrong for his newer version because they tried to threaten him which he, of course, didn’t like.
However, Luna was innocent and already lost her brother.
So, when he saw more details of the mission, his newer version triggered and asked him to think about the family.
“Hey mister, what happened to you?”
Luna opened her eyes and saw Lucas was clutching his head and asked with a concerned look on her face.
‘For a family, having allies is a must. Only then, the growth of my family will be quick.’
Finally, Lucas kicked away his past self and came to the conclusion to follow his current self.
‘Swoosh’
Just as he came to the conclusion, he felt a few silhouettes rushing towards them.
‘More members of the Weapons pavilion?’
Lucas frowned looking at the five members of the weapons pavilion who were rushing towards them from different directions as he thought, “How can the members of the weapons pavilion gather so quickly?”
It’s been only an hour or so since they entered the dungeon; however, so many of them were able to gather and more are coming at them, making Lucas think that they were using some item to regroup.
“There are five members. We are not going to win against them.”
While Lucas was thinking in his head about the Weapons pavilion’s method for re-grouping, he heard Luna speak and before he could say something, she continued, “I will stall them and kill as many members as possible. You can run away.”
While saying that, she took out a ring from her finger and said, “But, can you give the fire snake gall in the ring to the Honorwolf family in the Silverstone town? As for the corpse of the snake, you can take it along with some gold coins in it.”
As soon as she finished her words, she put the space ring in Lucas’ hands and started chanting for a spell.
‘…’
Lucas looked at Luna in a new light before revealing a slight smile on his face, ‘I guess, Honorwolf family is not a bad option for an ally for my Hellmore family.’
However, he didn’t run away; instead, he chanted a spell and chose a target.
‘Fireball’
Unlike the other spells, the ‘Fireball’ spell’s chant took only a minute to finish as Lucas waited for the target to come a little closer before releasing it towards the target.
‘Wolf bite’
At the same time, Luna also finished her chanting and released a spell at the incoming targets.
