“Uhhhhh’¦ It is really hard to believe that such a thing can happen. But because it’s you who is telling us this, and because you can somehow make Rex appear and disappear at will’¦ I guess it must be true.” Jennifer finally said after listening to Elliot tell the story in slightly greater detail.
“I trust you big bro. If you say that the aliens will come and do all those things you said they will do, then it must be true.” Jessica nodded and agreed with Jennifer.
The three of them had made their way to a park nearby and sat on a secluded bench for some privacy where Elliot had attempted to convince his sisters about the upcoming apocalypse.
It wasn’t a difficult thing to do, apparently. His sisters had unwavering faith in him, and would believe him even if he claimed that he was a monkey in his past life. Which might actually be possible, considering how much affinity he had with monkey-related stuff at that moment.
Elliot sighed with relief. He was afraid that his two sisters might panic and not believe him. But they turned out to be much more mature about the whole thing that he thought they would be.
Their maturity would be crucial for them to deal with the steep learning curve that was before them. They would be experiencing a drastic transition from a relatively simple life of hardship in a modern world, to a life of speed, blood, gore and extreme danger every moment of every day.
“So what do we do now?” Jessica asked calmly as she continued to stroke Ellie’s furry head.
“We’ll go home, prepare a bag of clean clothes and pack all the knives we have. We’ll also need to prepare three wooden staffs.” Elliot said. “After that we’ll go into the mountains where I have another ah, beast waiting to bring us to a safe place where we can wait out the chaos that will erupt in the first week.”
“Okay.” Jessica nodded.
“En.” Jennifer was slightly more nervous at the mention of knives and chaos, but she bravely chose to believe in her big brother and cast all her worries aside.
“Let’s go then.” Elliot said.

Himari Suzuki felt really weird.
She could feel her instincts and 6th sense literally blaring out DANGER! Her entire soul seemed to be quivering lightly in anticipation of something really massive that was about to happen.
Usually when that happens, she would go absolutely nuts and send out hundreds of assassins to kill all of her current and future enemies.
And every single time, her instincts and 6th sense were spot on.
She would always uncover an extremely insidious plot hatched by one of her enemies that would have taken her life if she had not attacked preemptively with her assassins. Although the rest of her enemies were innocent, she didn’t really mind taking them out as well.
They were, afterall, her enemies.
The unerring accuracy of her instincts and 6th sense caused her to trust it without a shred of doubt.
However, at that moment, even though her 6th sense was telling her that something incredibly unprecedentedly dangerous was about to happen, she was strangely at peace!
And because she was at peace for the first time during such a critical moment, she was able to think clearly. Instead of merely sending out assassins to kill her enemies, this time she decided to take matters into her own hands.
“Want to kill me? Sure, go ahead and try.” She smirked as she gave out orders to fortify her bunker and prepare to greet her “enemies”.
“Prepare enough food and water for three years. Weapons and ammunition to fight a war. A full battalion of soldiers and everything we need to survive an apocalypse. And oh, inform my family to do the same.” She ordered, not knowing that she had inadvertently saved her family’s lives and that she would eventually need every single exaggerated thing she had prepared to survive the coming apocalypse.

James Antetokunpo knew for certain that a disaster was forthcoming.
He had his men prepare as best as they could, stocking up food and water, strengthening the walls of their small base and most importantly, digging out a new basement where they could hide under should the disaster be something that wiped out the surface.
His base had been a beehive of activity for many long hours.
Ever since earlier that morning, his eyesight had suddenly improved by leaps and bounds. Not only that, his men also began to feel a deep chilling sensation whenever they looked into his eyes. For some reason, they felt extremely afraid of their boss, to the point where they found it hard to move.
“Strange.” He murmured to himself. “A good kind of strange, but strange, nonetheless.”
An Asian young man made his way towards him, saluted smartly and said, “Sir, the men are gathered and ready for evening prayer. Please lead us.”
“Alright.” James nodded and sighed one last time before he made his way down the watchtower and into the wide central courtyard.
He glanced at the little base that he had won for himself, and then at the hundred odd men that had sworn their allegiance to him after he had led them in a successful coup against their previous bandit masters, and felt a deep sense of satisfaction.
He had righted a huge wrong by killing the bandits, and was about to do another huge right by saving this group of men from the coming disaster.
“Well done men. You all did good work today. Let us now pray to God and beseech him to protect us in the coming disaster. Natoru, you may rejoin our brothers.” James said as he prepared his heart to pray.
“Yes sir.” Natoru saluted smartly once more and quickly made his way to rejoin his comrades.
Evening prayer was about to start.
Natoru was eager to communicate with God that evening. Like the rest of his brothers, he truly believed James Antetokunpo when he said a disaster was coming.
However, unlike the rest of his brothers, he knew exactly what sort of disaster was coming.
And if the flashes of visions he had been having of the future were right, then they would need a lot of help from God if they want to survive even the first week.
A lot, a lot of help.
