41 You Aren’t Good at Lying
Zhao Chuchu looked at Xie Heng from top to bottom. No matter how she looked at him, he didn’t look like the type who would know how to cook.
She was a servant in the family, to begin with, and was even beaten on a daily basis. After marrying Xie Heng, she did not interact much with him. However, since he was blind, she decided to take on all the housework herself, and because of such circumstances, she didn’t know much about Xie Heng.
“Nah.” Zhao Chuchu shook her head. “Fine. I don’t mind feeding you for the time being. Just eat whatever I make you. At least the food will be edible.”
There was no way she would munch on tasteless food when she had a lot of good food and drinks in the carry-on space.
It was hard for her to store so much stuff in there, and she did it so she could enjoy them.
Xie Heng looked at Zhao Chuchu and remained silent.

She raised a brow. “If you don’t like it, then make your own food. Junjun can eat with me.”
Xie Heng did not reply once again.
“Can you not make things so hard for me? If you have something to say, then say it.”
“Where do you plan to go after becoming the family of a palace servant?” A hint of emotion flashed in the man’s eyes.
Zhao Chuchu did not notice the abrupt changes in his eyes and thought about it. “Since the world is so big, I want to travel.”
After experiencing the apocalypse, she finally learned how beautiful the world was before that.
In her new life, she wanted to visit all the beautiful sceneries she could visit so that she didn’t leave her life with regrets.
“Are you not going home?”
“Home? Nope.”
Life had always been hard. The people you were having a blast with one minute ago could become dead the next.
She always liked the feeling of success when she managed to save someone on the verge of dying. However, during the apocalypse, no matter how skilled she was as a doctor, she could only watch as her friends and families died while there was nothing she could do. No matter how strong-willed she was, there was no way she wanted to return to a world filled with desperation.
Xie Heng was stunned for a second.
Zhao Chuchu looked into his eyes and said, “To be honest, I know about you as much as she does. The only difference is that I can notice a lot of weird things from various hints. I was not your enemy in the past, and I won’t be in the future, either. Xie Heng, you have your secrets, and I have mine. Now, I can leave this village once we get our divorce. But, I’m someone who keeps her promise. I’ve promised you I’ll cure Junjun, and I intend to keep that promise. I’ve already said what I should. It’s up to you to decide to believe me or not.”
After a moment of silence, Xie Heng took his wallet out.
“Go buy some white flour tomorrow. We can make buns with glutinous rice flour.”
After giving the wallet to Zhao Chuchu, the man turned and headed outside.
He suddenly stopped at the door and turned to look at Zhao Chuchu. “Also, you really aren’t good at making excuses,” he said with a slight grin.
He then turned back and left.
Zhao Chuchu was speechless, as if a teenager mocked her.
She felt slightly annoyed by that as what she said was the truth, and she didn’t lie.
Yet, Xie Heng did not give her the chance to explain.
Zhao Chuchu lay down on the bed and thought of something.
When she got transmigrated over, she remembered seeing Xie Heng feeling nothing at the fact that he was almost burned to death alive.
It was as if he was tired of living.
She opened the wallet Xie Heng had given her and found a dozen of silver pieces in there.
She then thought of what he had said before he left and sighed.
The next day, Zhao Chuchu woke up early, steamed the leftover buns from the night before, and ate them. She then went to see Xie Heng before putting a bag on her back and headed to the town to buy flour.
Just about halfway into the journey, she suddenly felt like she was being watched.
