Chapter 282 - The Battle

For the next few hours, Evan waited for some changes to begin. The blue fire in the stone lily bud made Evan want to sleep sometimes, but it wasn’t much of a problem. The Stone Lily was not strong enough to put Evan to sleep with a simple fire.

Evan arrived at Stone Seeds about the appointed time, so he didn’t have to wait long. Suddenly, the stone lily vines glowed, and the Meteorite Golems’ bodies began to be covered in a thin, crystalline armor. That’s exactly what Dorlus was talking about.

<Hmm, this armor would make them much stronger, but now Meteorite Glass was supposed to be next to their Monster Core.> Evan thought.

Before his eyes, the huge creatures over ten meters tall began to wake up. At that moment, the vines returned to the lilies, and the blue-flame bud closed. The next time the lily would open in a few weeks, after which the process would begin again.

When the Meteorite Golems awoke, they headed for the ores in the cave walls and began to devour them slowly. Meteorite Golems needed to recover the resources they had lost during their anabiosis. This process wouldn’t take long. They only needed some ore to regain their strength.

Evan did not attack the Meteorite Golems. In his opinion, there was no point in doing so now. He would wait until the members of Tears of Light got here and let them do all the dirty work. Evan needed to kill some Meteorite Golems and all the members of Tears of Light anyway, so waiting was the best option.

<Every time their symbiosis stops, they devour part of this cave. Now I see why this room is so vast.> Evan thought, and suddenly he heard the sounds of fighting in the distance.

They were not sustained. It was over in a few beats. But it was enough to know that the members of Tears of Light were already here.

Evan smiled and, after a while, saw fifteen men enter the room with the Meteorite Golems. Each of them wore a gold robe with a picture of three white drops.

Evan’s left eye turned to gold, and he looked at each of them.

<Good, no one among them is stronger than a mage at the -Two-Pointed Star stage with a single flame. I can handle such opponents. Moreover, Reykar will easily kill several of them.>

Evan thought they were about to attack Meteorite Golems, but the light mages didn’t move for some unknown reason. It looked as if they were waiting for something.

After a moment, Evan got the answer to his question. He saw another mage, this mage wore not gold but a white robe with a sun on it. Evan knew what kind of organization it was. This magician was a member of a light organization called Golden Glow.

[Sara Sletten

Race – Mage

Stage – Two-Pointed Star, Three Flames on a Platform

Warp – Purple]

Evan hadn’t expected to encounter such a strong opponent here. Moreover, he didn’t understand why a member of Golden Glow appeared to be in command of the Tears of Light group.

<Why are they acting together now? Moreover, why is this girl their commander? What is the point of this operation>. Evan thought.

Golden Glow was a pretty strong light organization, but they weren’t as powerful as the Tears of Light.

<Hmm, maybe it’s some training? Well, it’s not that important anyway. Pretty soon, they’ll all be dead.> Evan thought.

Sara was a very formidable opponent, but Evan had his own ways of dealing with such enemies. Initially, Evan didn’t want to use the power of demons, but with Sara’s arrival, he changed his mind. If he couldn’t make it on his own, he would have to sacrifice several years of his life.

So before the battle began, Evan decided to draw some Sigils on his body quickly.

While Evan was thinking about the upcoming battle, a man came up to Sara and said, “We came just in time, in a few minutes, when the Meteorite Golems calm down, we can start mining Meteorite Glass.”

Sara nodded and said coldly, “Of course we’ll get Meteorite Glass, but don’t rush to attack Meteorite Golems. We need to deal with the rat hiding here first.”

The next moment her spatial ring glowed, and a massive hammer appeared in her hands, which she threw into that tunnel where Evan was.

This hammer was powerful enough to destroy the rock and cut through part of the cave. Evan hadn’t expected such an attack, but he was able to react and dodge. Evan ended up jumping off the ledge and finding himself in the middle of the room not far from the light mage.

“I have to admit, that was really unexpected. How did you spot me?” Evan said with a slight smile on his face.

Sara frowned and said, “I can easily smell anyone who has dealt with vampires and Demonic Tree. People like you are the most disgusting people in the world.”

“What are you, a dog? Or maybe your nose works like a pig’s? А?” Evan asked mockingly.

Sara, like many light mages, despised vampires and dark mages. One seemed to her to be filthy creatures unworthy of living, and the other was infernal brats.

“You’re too self-righteous for your power. I think I’ve seen you somewhere before…” Gritting her teeth, Sara said.

“Miss Sara, I know this man. It’s Evan Lynch, we thought that after he left The Last Moon Academy, he would want to join some light organization, but apparently, he chose the other side.” Said the man in the gold robe.

Unlike the dark organizations, most of which themselves invited prospective mages to join them, the light organizations mostly did not. Their doors were always open to talented mages.

In order to join Tears of Light, Golden Glow, and any other light organization, it was necessary to go to one of their residences. The mage would then take an exam and be given a verdict. Of course, they and the dark organizations knew which of the young mages were of value.

So it was no surprise that a light mage at the stage – Two-Pointed Star – knew what Evan looked like and even what academy he had studied at.
