Chapter 1424  Only just beginning

The container they were in was made of glass, but it need not be said that this was far from ordinary glass. Lex did not know the specifics of the glass, but it definitely needed to be strong enough to resist whatever pressure was exerted from long distance teleportation through the Void.

Considering that the Void was dangerous to just about everyone, at minimum the glass container needed to have defense at the immortal level. If Lex had to take an arbitrary guess, he would say that it was probably at the level of a Celestial Immortal.

For Lex to believe that he could improve the defense of an item at the Celestial level was more than a little arrogant. But that’s not what Lex was doing. He didn’t need to improve the defense of the entire container.

Rather, he needed to improve the containers’ protection specifically from whatever was tracking and harming them.

With his eyes closed, Lex sensed the container, and specifically the crack. But to assume that the tracker was located at the exact location where the container was cracking was naive. The tracker was probably hidden ingeniously in some place no one would suspect or could find.

No, what Lex focused on was the laws. He could no longer do things as simple and straightforwardly as before. The world was more complicated than what appeared on the surface.

He also did not specifically look for the laws used by the enemy, whoever it may be in this case. For them to be able to fool the bank’s forces, their mastery of laws, at least in hiding the laws and their applications, far surpassed Lex.

But while their purpose was to covertly track, and then attack the container, Lex needed only to enhance the container’s own protection from external forces.

If the container could resist the Void, and everything else this journey threatened in the norm, then it was well made. Lex used its ability to resist the Void, and enhanced it, made it greater, and broadened the scope of what it was to defend against.

He used abstract concepts to fight against the many unknowns of his situation, and used the solid concepts for the things that were straightforward.

Back when Lex fought Cornelius, and discovered Lawcraft for the first time, studying the king’s means, Lex discovered that there was a depth to laws that surpassed his comprehension, but at the same time that complexity was grounded in Cornelius’ own experiences.

He merged his own identity and experiences into his Lawcraft. Lex did not know if that made things better or not, he would experiment later. For now, Lex revealed his first ever self created Lawcraft.

The laws in the container trembled, and suddenly everyone felt a change take place.

Gerard and Velma would not be surprised no matter what Lex did. Though they did not necessarily believe Z’s theory of Lex hiding his cultivation realm, they had faith in him. Ripley, on the other hand, could not help but look at Lex with the same gaze he did when he was auditing something, and what he saw was something remarkable.

In the ever changing, ever in flux surroundings of the container, the container was like a speck in the cosmos. But suddenly that speck gained an aura of dominance that could not be described so easily. It was not the dominance of a warrior or an attacker. No, this was the sense of dominance that came with having absolute faith that nothing could harm it at all. It was the aura that came with looking down at everything else, for it would inevitably be insufficient.

When Lex opened his eyes once more, he turned to look at the image that Velma was still portraying. An image of the whole room was not visible, it was more like they were looking out of whatever portal or connection was attached to their container.

They saw as teams of gargoyles split up, with a few of them even seemed to enter through the image, clearly coming towards them.

Everyone braced themselves for the attack… but nothing happened. There was no reaction at all. They waited a few moments more, wondering if maybe the attack would take some time, but Lex smirked softly.

No one else felt anything, but he did. It was like an insect getting squished on the window of a driving car. The gargoyles, who Lex suspected were actually much stronger than him, died just like that, without the slightest hint of putting up a fight.

Lex’s mind quickly started to dissect what actually happened, and figure out how and why he was able to show strength way beyond his level. Lex was confident, but not stupid. There was no way he should have been able to so easily take out a team of gargoyles that had been assembled to attack delegations to the bank.

If anything… Lex suspected that there was a greater secret to this very container than he expected.

“Ripley, do you happen to know what this container is made from? What is this glass?” Lex asked very casually, without mentioning the attack at all.

“I do not know the specifics, I don’t normally travel through containers,” Ripley said. “These are standard containers used by the bank. I can find out their origins. Are you wondering if it was tampered with from the source?”

“No, I’m wondering where I can buy one,” Lex said softly. Actually, he wanted to make a sword out of this material, but as soon as he had that thought, he could feel Naraka getting upset with him, so he changed his sentence real quick.

The only other thing he could think of why he was able to display such amazing power was that the container was special, or maybe his lawcraft worked particularly well during teleportation. S~eaʀᴄh the NôvelFire(.)net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

The image Velma was showing suddenly disappeared, but before anyone could ask what happened, Gerard spoke.

“The energy leakage has stopped.”

“I think it’s over,” Ripley said.

Lex shook his head. These people… It was as if they’d never been involved in unexpected trouble before. How could they say that it was over? Things were clearly just beginning.

A few minutes later, the container arrived at Uzuz, and what they saw was chaos.
