The Mysterious Black Magician Novel

Chapter 17 - Disconnection, AI And Human Difference

Yman was thrown about ten meters away from his current location.

He could not believe that this monster’s attack was so fast.

He even tried to use his Rapid Leap skill. But before he could activate it, it was already too late.

BoooooOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

The spectators were sending boos at him. While some were laughing and the others cursing him.

He also noticed the instructors shaking their heads. Even the Instructor Goki did as well.

Well, he already expected it.. What was important was that he’s alive.

Good thing that he was able to block the boulder with his wooden sword. If not, surely, he would die in that attack.

But even so, the damage was too high! He lost half of his health points. And the sword was broken.

Well, he was fine, his right arm was feeling numb though. Nevertheless, the person at his back also took huge damage, like him, that person also was hit by the boulder.

Yman grinned and took a glance at the person. He saw him standing not too far away from him. He was standing still while wobbling from side to side.

‘He was stunned! Ahaha,’ he laughed seeing that guy lost more than half of his health points and now was under the effect of Bash.

That boulder throw of this monster could cause the Bash effect when hit directly by it. They would be stunned for a limited time.

Since Yman was able to block it with his sword, no Bash effect on him.

‘That’s a payment for pushing me this morning!’ He inwardly whispered.

<Partner, how low can you be?!>

“Shut up, Sistela!” He said while twisting his face.

<Hmph!>

“Okay, I know I did something bad…but, that is because I know how twisted humans are. I already experienced many cruelties. And I learned that…if you act meek and weak, they would always pick a fight with you. Sometimes You need to pay them back. No matter if they paid you again later. What is important, is that…you fight back! And showed them that you are not just a training dummy that they can hit whenever they want!”

He said while his eyes glistened.

<But that is still wrong!>

“I know! But since you are an AI and not really a human, it is hard for you to comprehend what the real human felt,” he said.

<Hmph! Even though I am an AI, I know what is right and wrong!>

“Yeah, because they programmed you…like that,” Yman tried to explain to his deity the difference between a real human and artificial one.

<Hmph!>

He could feel her displeasure at him. But Yman had no time to argue with her. He noticed the golem started to rush towards him.

Sometimes, Yman felt that Sistela was a human. The way she talked and acted, they were human-like. But, he also knew that she was just an AI, an artificial intelligence. And she could not understand some matters that only humans can do. Because her knowledge was limited only to what was programmed in her.

All in all, he noticed that…before that person who pushed him this morning took a hit from the mini golem he was fighting with a while ago, Instructor Goki caught the attack of the golem and rescued that person.

He even caught the golems attack with one hand only. Yman’s mouth formed like ‘o’ seeing this. The golem tried to attack him using its bladed hand. But his bulging muscle was like an impenetrable armor that could not be penetrated with any weapons.

Instructor Goki glanced at Yman and said, “I’m disappointed at you kiddo…regardless, you take care of this one too,” he said at him while pointing at the mini golem.

Since Yman asked him that he would attack several monsters at the same time a while ago, the instructor gave him the other golem that was supposed to be the enemy of that person who pushed him this morning.

“Y-Yes…sir!” Yman replied. Even though he felt ashamed for what he did. But, he would not change the way he thought just for that.

“Don’t act too rash kid.”

After leaving those words, the instructor left while carrying that person.

Yman sighed. After losing the target, the mini golem pointed his hatred to the nearest enemy. And that was Yman.

<INCOMING!>

Now he needed to take care of these two monsters at the same time.

Two monsters came charging at him in opposite directions.

Without waiting for them to catch him, he ran towards the cliff edge while casting healing skills for himself.

Heal! Heal…

The spectators wondered what he was planning now.

Almina didn’t care what the other thought of Yman. But after seeing him running at the edge cliff, she felt regret that she let him do what he wanted.

That move of him was literally suicidal.

Kesha sneered at that boastful person. Now he was running at the edge of the cliff. She thought that this person wanted to kill himself because of how embarrassed he was.

“What a clown…” she whispered.

“What the…why Yman went there?” Bob was puzzled.

“Yeah, now he has no way to escape,” Mai added.

“Kuku, I bet he wanted to commit suicide,” Brai chuckled.

“Eh? No—way…” even Chloe had no idea what was Yman trying to do.

She was as puzzled as them.

Even the instructors knitted their brows.

“That kid is crazy!” One of them said in a slightly loud voice.

“We should stop this!” The other one added.

“Fufufu,” a female instructor chuckled and said, “let him die. After all, he will not literally die. He will revert back to normal humans only if that kid falls on that cliff. But of course, the injury was considerable.”

Yman stopped his feet at exactly 10 meters distance…away from the cliff edge.

If the Boulder Throw would hit him, for sure, he would fall at this cliff.

But before that, he needed to prepare himself for the monster’s attack.

Yman noticed that his deity Sistela was silent. It looks like she was mad at him.

<Missy are you fine with it?> Floating beside Almina was his system deity named Cal. He was asking his owner Almina.

“W-Why, Mr. Cal?” Almina was flustered, questioning back her deity.

But her deity knew what she felt at the moment.

<If that person will fall in that cliff, there is a chance for him to die for real…> Mr. Cal said at his owner while the imprints on his round body glowed whenever he talked.

“Eehhhhhh? What are you saying, Mr. Cal? Why would it happen? He will die for real? Not revert back to a normal human?” Almina’s voice was loud that the other trainees beside her heard her.

<Yes!>

“…how? Why?” Almina asked while widening her eyes.

<Because there is a chance of system disconnection.> Mr. Cal replied to her.

“…d-disconnection?”

<Mhm!>

“You mean…their resonance will be canceled?” Upon realizing it Almina felt a pang of pain in her chest.

<Yes, Missy,>

“Mr. Cal is that possible?” Almina asked.

<You see, Missy, female system deity was usually cheerful, playful and also a gentle deity. They were usually healers and that is the reason why they dislike violence and ill-intent. Regardless, that person that dear to you…>

“D-D-Dear to me? W-W-What are you saying M-Mr? Cal?” Almina stammered her words while showing redness on her face.

<Hah, even in your room was full of that person’s picture. I even thought that his a celebrity at first but it turned out that he’s an ordinary person only…> Mr. Cal mumbled.

<…regardless, that person did the opposite of his deity’s likable personalities. In that regard, it will weaken their resonance. And if that happened, there is a higher possibility of disconnection.>

Almina grimaced upon hearing her deity. But, what can she do? Stop the fight? Help him?

But based on Yman’s personality, there was a chance that he would feel bad at her if she did that.

She bit her lips.

Beside her, was her stunned best friend.

When the two monsters reached a distance of ten meters away from him. They used Boulder Throw at him. Two boulders rapidly flew towards him.
