Alcina was reading a book in the garden when she felt her phone vibrating somewhere. She wanted to pick up the call but since she was heavily pregnant, she lacked the energy to move just to pick up a call. Or one could say she was lazy. If it was really an important call, they would call again.
The weather was nice.
The Sun wasn’t bright.
Perfect to read the crime mystery story she was holding in her hands.
Ryuu wasn’t home and Faye was attending her classes leaving her with nothing to do. It wasn’t like she was allowed to do anything in the first place. She was Alcina, Lord Ryuu’s precious baby mama.
Oh, please, she refused to believe that she was given the status of the goddess in everyone’s heart because she was married to Ryuu.
It had to be because she was giving birth to this prestigious Tang family’s child. The servants and palace staff looked at her and her tummy as if a little prince was sitting inside and as soon as he came out, he would wield a sword and win nations, increasing the prestige of this family a thousand fold.
It was funny and at the same time annoying. Try everyone staring at your belly constantly.
A few days ago, a weird priest came to their home. He was old and was wearing those clothes of ancient times. Ryuu was extremely polite to him. At one time, he was being honoured by Ryuu and the other time swords were pointed at him. And the one to point a sword at him wasn’t her husband but another man in the same traditional Chinese clothes, someone with the name of Tang Yuzhang.
Of course, she knew about Tang Yuzhang. She had heard stories of hai bravery and loyalty. She remembered him as the same man who used to follow her late mother-in-law.
She didn’t know what happened to that priest after that incident but she had heard everyone in the palace whispering how the old priest who was said to be meditating for fifteen years, in the end, turned out to be a traitor.
Apparently, the old priest had a hand in Tang Reine’s death and all those rumours saying the third child of the latter would bring calamity to the family were considered baseless.
It wasn’t the third child that was cursed or the priest that was very gifted in seeing the future and past but a well-planned conspiracy. He had been working with the enemies and he not only killed Tang Reine but the third child too.
Everything had always been a conspiracy.
Nothing magical was happening. It was just that someone genius had planned it for a long time and Tang Reine fell prey to those conspiracies.
Between all the mess, an innocent life was taken.
Alcina groaned when she felt her phone ringing again. It wasn’t Ryuu who was calling her and so she didn’t see a point in picking up the call. And how did she know that it wasn’t Ryuu? It was simply because she had set a different ring for every family member. It helped to decide if she wanted to attend the call or not!
Her eye fell on a flash of blond hair and when she looked carefully she saw a thin md tall teenager scowling at the tree. She had to admit that the boy was beautiful. Yes, beautiful, not handsome. He had such a well defined facial bone structure. Not everyone could have beautiful features.
Alcina felt pity for him in her heart. The poison was created by her and in the end, someone stole it from her only to use it on this innocent boy. She knew when she saw his reports that it was difficult to cure him but Zhang Boyan along with her help succeeded in treating him to a certain extent. It couldn’t be said that he was cured now. It would take six more months.
It was easier for Ryuu to treat because she knew from the beginning what medicine he needed and his treatment wasn’t delayed. But in this boy’s case, many drugs were tried on her which worsened his condition.
She felt bad for the boy who was locked inside the walls of the Tang Palace. She didn’t understand why Ryuu liked teasing this boy. He loved to get a reaction out of this arrogant but very adorable young master.
Maybe, it was because he resembled the late Tang Reine a lot. It wasn’t just his attitude only but also his unique hair colour that resembled the late lady Tang a lot. Yes, Tang Reine had blonde hair which was very unique to someone of Chinese origin. But she loved to dye them black, red or any other colour according to her preference.
Perhaps, it was the reason Ryuu liked to get a rile out of him.
As she moved the book in her hand fell on the ground and seeing that no one was in sight and the maid accompanying her went inside to bring orange juice for her, she tried to bend down to pick up the book but she was unable to. She sighed as she was about to call someone, she found the same book placed on the table before her. It was only then she saw the boy going back but she quickly spoke to stop him.
“Thank you, “Alcina said. She wondered what he was doing in the garden. He usually didn’t leave the wing assigned to him. Tang Yuzhang requested that the boy was given privacy.
He just shrugged but Alcina further asked, “What’s your name? Well, what is this young master’s name?”
Alcina’s tone was full of respect. Oddly enough it worked on him.
The young master was happy with her tone so he just said, “You can call this Young master by the name Jun.”
His arrogant tone had a hint of pleasure and Alcina hid her smile behind the book. How could someone be so adorable?
