Amma had insisted on pressing Xiaobao’s nose. Alcina wasn’t aware but people here gently pressed the nose of a newborn baby to give it a sharp shape. It usually happens in the case of flat noses. It wasn’t a harmful practice and many people all over the world did it. The baby didn’t even feel pain. It was suggested not to do it while the baby was awake. His head wasn’t round but Amma with her hand made sure that the baby’s head was round and good. She with her traditional methods protected the premature baby in the dire cold.
Seeing how knowledgeable these people were, Alcina realized why they didn’t need to go to doctors regularly. Their traditional methods could protect them from illness. Of course, it couldn’t cure cancer and AIDS.
Rumi, Amma’s daughter, was sitting in the same room, knitting a scarf. She looked up at Alcina as she heard, “Rumi, take care of Xiaobao. I will go out to see Jun.”
Jun’s condition was better than before. But still, she wanted to see him first before resting. The days were shorter and it wasn’t allowed to walk out in the dark.
“Amma is saying don’t go out in the cold. It’s not good for the body,” Rumi translated her mother’s words. Alcina had just given birth to a baby just a month ago and it wasn’t good if she went out in the snow.
“I will take care of myself.,” Alcina assured them. ” I will return after seeing him. He was in pain last night. I heard from your brother.” Before she could go out, she found Jun running towards her. He was running with frightening skills. How many times has she told the boy not to frighten the villagers with his skills? He yelled in Mandarin, “Saozi, I found a network.”
Alcina was stunned for a moment. Once the words sank in her head, her eyes brightened “What?! where?!”
Finding the network meant they could contact Ryuu.
“I met someone who came from the city and took his phone last night. I moved several miles in search of a network. And when I finally found the network, I left a message for help,” Jun told Alcina. He wouldn’t tell her how he had threatened the truck driver to charge the phone in his truck and ran the whole night in search of a network. If she got to know what he did, she would surely scold him for putting his life in danger once again.
“You left Ryuu a message?” Alcina asked. Her eyes were bright and her tone excited.
“No, I don’t have his information,” Jun said, shaking his head. Why would he have the information of a man who he didn’t even like?
“Then, who do you leave a message for?” Alcina asked in confusion.
Jun scratched her head and embarrassedly said. “Umm…Zhenyi.”
“You have her contact but not Ryuu’s?” Alcina questioned her hands on her hips. ” Why is it so?”
“I didn’t know he would end up my sibling,” Jun muttered. ” I don’t even like him.”
“So you like Zhenyi more?” Alcina asked. No, she wasn’t offended that Jun didn’t like Ryuu. Her husband didn’t give Jun any reasons to like him. In the name of helping Jun, he imprisoned him.
“I don’t like her either but I was making peace with the fact that such a troublesome woman was my sister,” Jun said truthfully. Scratching his head, he muttered, I might have troubled her a bit.”
“Tell me the truth, Jun, how did you trouble her?” Now Alcina was more than just curious. Was it easier to trouble Zhenyi and leave unscathed?
Not at all!
She wondered what Jun had done to trouble Zhenyi and how the latter didn’t realise.
“Ummm…I knew from the beginning about you,” Jun said, shocking Alcina to the core. Just what was this boy’s background that he could know about her history. He paused and then continued,” I knew whose daughter you were. And from the time I knew she was my sister, I had my eye on her. Do you know how stupid she is most of the time? I mean I get second-hand embarrassment sometimes. She makes me question how someone like me can have such a troublesome sibling like her. One night, she did something stupid and dangerous and so I started blackmailing her. Of course, my intentions were good.”
“You were blackmailing her?” Alcina asked. She was so shocked that she forget to breathe for a moment. For assurance, she asked once again, “Zhenyi?!”
“Yeah…she couldn’t find me,” Jun said in a very innocent manner. ” And whenever I was bored, I would trouble her for some entertainment.” Seeing how bad it sounded, he added, It’s her fault too. She blew away my team of IT experts. Tell me, how does this?”
“I can’t understand you and Zhenyi!” Alcina sighed. How on earth both Jun and Zhenyi were so alike? And how was Ryuu going to deal with double trouble? Oh, all she could say was that it was going to be fun seeing these siblings fight.
“So, Zhenyi replied?” She asked for a while.
“Not yet,” Jun replied. “I just hope she sees my message.”
“Don’t worry she will,” Alcina said with a smile. ” They must be looking for us.”
She believed that her husband would leave no stone turned in bringing her back home. All she had to do was just trust him. And truly, her prayers were heard by the God.
It was a week after the message incident, Ryuu’s team were able to locate the village she was staying in. It wasn’t easy for them to reach this place. Different teams were searching different villages. It was only Feng Siyan’s team that was able to reach the exact location.
The mission was given a high importance. It was very important for the soldiers to find Alcina.. Since Alcina was pregnant with Lord’s child, it was even more significant.
