The Wife of Hades Novel

Chapter 156 - Shen Liya's Funeral

“So. . . what happened to you today?”

Mo Han raised one eyebrow confusedly, sitting down next to her, “What do you mean what happened? Nothing happened.”

An Luxia grinned, sitting up and leaning towards him, “When did the King of the Underworld suddenly get so weak and obedient?”

Mo Han looked at her and did not say anything, taking off the suit jacket he had been wearing.

“Did you lose your attitude and your strength after everything that happened?” An Luxia continued to mock him, smiling happily as she did so, “Hm, I’m not sure which version of you I like more. The strong one or the weak -“

Suddenly, she was pushed back on the bed with Mo Han over her as he leaned down on the spacious VIP hospital bed, “Weak? Has it been too long since you last experienced my power that you are forgetting about it already?”

An Luxia felt a chill run down her spine as she gulped.

“How dare you call me weak? I should remind you about my.. . . strength.” Mo Han said in a low voice, his throat becoming slightly hoarse.

An Luxia shivered even though the room was quite warm, and she looked up at Mo Han alarmedly, “Mo Han, I am still a sick patient! You can’t -“

“Sick patient? You seem quite well to me to even be able to provoke me!”

An Luxia pressed her lips together, knowing that it was always wrong to try and provoke Mo Han. However, it was much too late. Mo Han smiled as he looked at her and before long, the room was filled with the unusual sound of gasps and moans as the two of them joined as one once again after a long time.

An Luxia got much better in the next few weeks, and she was insistent on not staying in the hospital for any longer.

The smell of the medicine and the tiny room was getting very boring and frustrating, and she was as good as new now. She wanted to leave and go out in the open once again!

So, after almost a month of staying in the hospital room, Qi Yu and Mo Han finally let her pack her stuff and go home.

It had been a long time since she was last home, and it felt like forever after everything that had happened. Since knowing about the Trap, she had felt scared and anxious, always afraid before going to sleep, wondering if she would still be able to wake up and see the sun the next morning.

Now, after everything, she was well once again and she could live her life freely without worrying about dying anymore. It was a liberating feeling, and after the whole accident, she learned to appreciate the small things in life once again.

Only when you experience the feeling of losing or almost losing something, do you actually learn to be grateful and appreciative of it.

Although it was not a good experience, An Luxia was glad now to be able to live each day to the fullest, spending as much time as she could with the people she loved, doing the things she loved.

A few days after getting out of the hospital, An Luxia, Mo Han, and many other close people arrived at a graveyard for the funeral of Shen Liya.

There were not a lot of people, for Shen Liya had no friends or many acquaintances. She had lived without an identity for most of her life, hidden under Mo Siyan without a life of her own.

During the brief period of time when she was free in Country A, she was still under a mission for the Si Organization. Her whole life had been lived inside a cage.

Although An Luxia and Mo Han did not and will not forgive her for what she did, they had to give her a funeral and bury her. She was once An Luxia’s friend and in the very end. . . She did save her life and all of their lives.

If it weren’t for Shen Liya, An Luxia would possibly be dead by now, and everyone attending the funeral would be suffering.

An Luxia bent down and placed a large bouquet of colorful flowers on the grave, which had a picture of Shen Liya smiling on it. It was taken once when she had gone to go get milk tea with An Luxia.

The smile looked sincere, but most of her smiles seemed sincere, so they could not tell whether she was ever genuine in her happiness or not.

The An family had also heard about the story and the whole event, so they knew that Shen Liya had almost killed and successfully saved An Luxia.

Everyone attending had mixed emotions as they said their final goodbyes to Shen Liya and returned home, leaving the lonely girl behind in their minds.

Hopefully, she was in a better place now, and if she wasn’t, maybe she would get a second chance to relive her life and have a better fate.

After the funeral, An Luxia and Mo Han returned home and on the car ride home, An Luxia fell asleep. She had often felt tired the past few days, and Mo Han had brought her to the hospital several times, afraid it had something to do with the Trap.

When they arrived home, Mo Han carried An Luxia out of the car and into the building, resting her on the bed. An Luxia rolled around, kicking off her black shoes herself as she continued to sleep.

Mo Han slowly walked out of the room, closing the doors gently as he made his way over to the kitchen. Inside, the chefs were cooking dinner and he looked around, inspecting the food.

An Luxia also had a bad appetite the past few days, and got very picky with the food she ate. It was either too salty, or too oily, or too sweet, or too sour, or too bland. All in all, she ate little and did not enjoy eating as much as she had before.

Mo Han knit his eyebrows together, not sure of what to do with her, and wondering if this was something to do with the Trap.

As he neared a pot of soup, he wrinkled his nose together, thinking that this would definitely smell too strong for An Luxia. Just as he was about to tell the chef to remake it, a thought suddenly entered his mind.

Why was she tired and did not have an appetite these few days?

Did it possibly have anything to do with. . .
