The Wife of Hades Novel

Chapter 3 - Legally Married

“Okay then! Let’s get married!”

— Half an hour later

Inside a black car, An Luxia and Mo Han sat a few inches away from each other, on the way to the clerk recorder department to get their marriage registered.

Mo Han drove and An Luxia sat in the passenger’s seat, twiddling her thumbs as she debated on whether she should break the silence or not.

Finally, she asked, “So. . . Mo Han, what is your career?”

She immediately gulped after speaking, and she couldn’t help but wonder if she was stupid. She had asked him that yesterday, and didn’t he say he was a businessman?!

“Do you know what the HLX Organization is?”

An Luxia blinked a few times before slowly nodding her head. She definitely heard of it before, as it showed up in the news quite frequently.

The HLX Organization; the biggest underworld complex and group in the world. Although no one exactly knew how big it was or everything they did, the organization itself has admitted to being behind some of the greatest hacks performed in history, murders of particular people, and more.

Overall, it was something no one wanted to meddle with or be associated with.

Just as An Luxia was wondering why Mo Han brought up the HLX Organization out of nowhere, he said:

“I am the leader of it.”

The car immediately became silent again, even more silent than before they had spoken. An Luxia blinked a few times as she stared blankly at his side profile.

“You – What?!” After returning to her senses, her mouth fell open in surprise and she wasn’t sure whether she should trust his bold claim or not.

Mo Han frowned slightly as he didn’t seem very pleased at her response, and he sped up the car a little, “I am the founder and leader of the HLX Organization.”

At once, An Luxia’s face paled as she felt a chill run down her spine. From the looks of it, he did not seem to be lying. And, there had been news several months ago about an assumption of the leader of the HLX Organization residing in City A of Country X, which was exactly where she lived.

“You – I. . . You. .. Didn’t you say you were a businessman?!”

Mo Han nodded his head, “I am also a businessman. The Gu Corporation, the Qin Corporation, and many more. . . They are actually all under HLX. It is a little complicated. I can explain to you later.”

“. . .” She did not want to hear the explanation.

“Is it too late to back out now?” She asked softly.

Mo Han’s face darkened slightly before he replied coldly, “Yes.”

The corners of her lips twitched slightly as she looked down at her hands and pressed her lips together. What did she get herself into?!

The leader and founder of the HLX Organization?! From what she knew about the HLX, she was certain that whoever created it was also no good of a person! And now. . . she was getting married to the “no good of a person”!

In this case, even that disgusting Lu Xiamo might be a better choice. . . might. . . never mind, he wouldn’t.

Even the number one convincing argument of Mo Han being handsome didn’t seem to appeal so much to An Luxia now.

She did not dare to offend him or get him mad, because who knows what he would do! So. . . she was screwed?

‘Please, please, please!’ She prayed silently as she clasped her hands together. All she could hope for was that this man wasn’t as mean and cruel as she imagined him to be, and hopefully he would get sick of her and divorce her soon!

“We’re here.” The car came to a stop in front of the clerk recorder department and Mo Han took off his seatbelt, opened the door, and got off.

Very slowly, An Luxia also unbuckled her seatbelt, played around for a long time with her bag, and finally got out when Mo Han opened the door for her and bent down, raising one of his dark eyebrows.

He closed the door after she had gotten out, grabbed onto her small hand, and began walking towards the door, his steps fast and large.

An Luxia looked down at her hand that was wrapped inside his long and slender fingers and blinked a few times as she jogged to keep up with his fast steps.

Her heartbeat instinctively sped up and her cheeks turned red at the small intimate motion since she had been single since birth, but she also couldn’t help but wonder if those attractive hands had been washed with blood in the past.

They entered the building and since it was around breakfast time, there was no one waiting. They quickly took the picture, signed the documents, and got the two small red booklets within an hour.

An Luxia stepped out into the bright summer sunlight and held the red booklet out in front of her. She squinted her eyes slightly as she looked at the picture.

She stood on the left with a crooked and very fake smile on her face. The oversized black shirt Mo Han had given her since her clothes had magically disappeared looked very ugly in the picture, but at least her visuals did not disappoint.

She had always been complimented for her beautiful soft features. Although her long straight, black hair she was proud of was hidden due to the black shirt, her round brown eyes, smooth and pale skin, still stood out in the image.

Next to her, Mo Han was also wearing a completely black suit. Unlike An Luxia, he did not even try no matter how many times the photographer urged him to smile.

This made her wonder why he even agreed to marry her if he was this resistant. However, she still had to admit that even in the picture, Mo Han was still extremely handsome – exactly her type!

Mo Han walked out of the building and stopped a few inches behind her with a small red booklet in his hand as well. He looked at her for a few seconds and then at the booklet she was holding out in the air.

A small grin appeared on his face but he quickly hid it as he walked over to her and placed his hands into his pant pockets, “Bring your clothes, whatever you need, and all your stuff over to my house. We are going to live together.”

An Luxia closed the booklet carefully and looked up, “So. . . we are actually getting married forever?”

He tilted his head slightly and looked down at her with a cold and serious expression. With a very firm tone, he replied, “Yes.”

An Luxia pressed her lips together to hide her shameless smile because she found his cold and serious face very handsome and slightly. . . cute.

Maybe. . . Hopefully getting married to the “underworld King” wasn’t going to be too bad. After all, the rumors about the leader of the HLX being cruel and merciless were only rumors! No one knew if they were true or not.

It was bad and impolite that she was making assumptions about a person she did not know very well after only a few hours of getting to know them.

An Luxia scratched her head slightly and tilted it to one side. Maybe it won’t be too bad. . . As long as he wasn’t mean or disrespectful to her, just by his face alone, she would be gaining from this marriage!

Imagine waking up to that face every day!

An Luxia giggled softly and began swinging her arms back and forth as she looked up at Mo Han, “Okay, I need to go to my house to get my stuff then!”

She hopped down the stairs and back to the car.

From behind, Mo Han watched her with an amused expression.. When she reached the car, he chuckled softly and walked down the stairs two at a time to go open the car door for her.
