The Yandere System in the World of Cultivation Novel

Chapter 12 Meeting my ex-mother-in-law?

“Bitch… how useless he was.” Groaned Victor painfully in the library.

“Initial Ascension(1)… Earthly Ascension(2)… Heavenly Ascension(3)… Mortal Ascension(4). Why isn’t it just martial arts…” – Biting his lips, Victor cursed his fate.

Unlike the modern world in which there were ordinary martial arts like boxing or jiu-jitsu, here it was quite different.

Simply put, in addition to martial arts, each person developed a level of cultivation, and the higher they could reach, the stronger they became. For example, some cultivators could fly or live for countless years. That was fine for someone who wanted to live forever, but Victor thought otherwise.

“I’m at rock bottom!” Victor grinned bitterly, wrapping his arms around his head. In a world where power decides everything, he was almost at the very bottom.

The past owner of the body did little cultivation as he spent all his time pursuing Mu Bing Yun and eventually, at the age of 20, he was in the late stage of Initial Ascension(1), which was basically the rock bottom.

Of course it would be normal to have this level of cultivation for an ordinary cultivator or a cultivator from an average clan, but for someone who is a young master of one of the largest clans in the Northern Region, it was too embarrassing.-.

‘I’m surprised he hasn’t been humiliated by anyone so far,’ Thought Victor, trying to cheer himself up. He was surprised because it should have happened by now, that’s what the novels said and that’s what he thought would happen.

When the useless young master was humiliated and laughed at, he would silently endure, as if he were mentally retarded. Of course, according to the pattern of such works, further down the road he should have become strong, immensely so, and rather than enduring he would shut up everyone who ever dared laugh at him… And the humiliation would not stop there, for everything was going in a circle only in different places.

“If this keeps up…” Victor squinted his eyes; he was well aware that if he didn’t become strong enough so that no one could resist him, he would eventually die.

In a thousand years of living as various incarnations he had truly understood how easy it was to lose a life, he had watched clans, cities, and sometimes even countries fall… As he watched this, Victor came to the conclusion that nothing lasts the trials of time.

No matter how strong the Yang clan is, it will eventually disappear in the folds of time One day they will be confronted by an enemy that possesses unfathomable might, or some random lone cultivator with enormous power will wipe out the clan for just whatever reason one could find.

“The bottom line is that everything comes to an end eventually!” Victor sighed.

He needed to gain a force able to counter any enemies that would come to face him, and even if the Yang clan did fall he had to have the power to survive in this world.

“What should I do?” Victor tried to scoop from his memories how he could get up to speed quickly.

“Right!” Victor slapped himself on the forehead, he had completely forgotten about the most common way to raise the level of cultivation, of course it was a secluded cultivation.

Few cultivators in the Northern Region did this sort of thing; they had good lives and beautiful women, so they didn’t need training that lasted at least a few decades at all.

He thought the same way, because he didn’t care about strength, the main thing was to get Mu Bing Yun to become his wife, and the rest could be ignored. But the present Victor was very different, his priority was always a quiet, peacful life and no matter how beautiful the girl in front of him was, it was impossible to break him. Fear of reincarnation completely changed Victor’s sense of beauty in front of him.

“I’ll be gone for 20… no, 50 years… “Victor’s eyes lit up before the anticipation of training, he was very curious how cultivation happens and curious to find out how it feels to get stronger. But he knew that he couldn’t do it right now; he also needed to study the world around him where he currently lived, and tomorrow he would visit the Mu clan and announce the breaking of the engagement and only after that he would be completely free.

With these thoughts in mind, he continued to study the books.

**********

The next day.

Clan Mu. Northern Region.

“Mom, I didn’t force him, he suggested it.” – Joyfully, Mu Bing Yun said, looking at the woman in the center of the room. Although her voice sounded happy, envy flashed in her eyes as she looked at this woman.

The woman in the center of the room was beautiful, she could not be compared in appearance or atmosphere with Mu Bing Yun, as they created a kind of strong contrast.

For example, she had long white hair, violet eyes, large breasts of about B size, a slender figure, and irresistible facial features. She could not be compared to Mu Bing Yun as she was vastly superior to her, perhaps she could even compare to Victor’s beauty.

Unlike Mu Bing Yun from whom one could feel the cold and uncomfortable feeling, from this woman one could feel only softness and obedience, as if she was a bright spring flower.

Chu Yuechan was her name. She was the mother of Mu Bing Yun.

Now she had a rather strange feeling because she didn’t know exactly how she felt at that moment. The first time Victor took the initiative to come to the Mu Clan, Chu Yuechan couldn’t even guess that at their first meeting, the first words he would say would mean the end of the engagement between him and Mu Bing Yun.

Of course she should have been upset or felt betrayed as a member of the Mu clan in relation to the Yang clan, but she didn’t feel that at all, it was quite the opposite, after Victor’s first words she happened to meet her eyes with his appearance, and was somewhat stunned.

‘He’s really handsome…’ That was Chu Yuechan’s first thought when she saw Victor. She was puzzled why she thought of it at all, since he was probably her daughter’s ex-fiancé. Even though this was their first meeting, the first time they saw each other in person, she was pleasantly surprised by the calmness on Victor’s face, because usually when men saw her for the first time, the elegant men quickly turned into lustful dogs.

Once Victor had read enough books in the library and was roughly aware of what was going on, he noticed that it was morning and immediately went to the Mu clan with the message that the engagement was broken.

Initially, Victor thought he would have to discuss the matter with the patriarch of the Mu Clan and even give some sort of gift in the form of an apology, but he was surprised because it was not his decision but Mu Bing Yun’s mother’s.

He only knew her name and that was all, but he could definitely tell from memory that she was much prettier than Mu Bing Yun, which didn’t startle Victor at all, because that’s the way it should be.

Noticing that a piercing gaze had descended upon him from the moment he entered the room, he instinctively met his gaze.

‘A beautiful mature woman…’ Victor swallowed hard.
